I hate group projects. Always have. Unfortunately, we have to give them because so many employers these days want people who are used to working in groups gag me, and we're expected to teach them soft skills to make them more adaptable.
I try to make them palatable by making a portion of the grade scored by the rest of the group - if you slack off, your group can (and in my experience, will) torpedo you to the best of their ability. It doesn't fully fix the problem, but it does light a fire under some of the slackers and make the whole situation less "why" for the higher achievers. They've got some power over the situation to make it a little easier to swallow.
I've never liked group tests. I had to take them for one class - intro macroeconomics in college - and even then, it was two grades - one individual, one group. This, of course, made the entire group test thing irrelevant. What's the point? Even worse, my group was a bunch of frat bros. My group score was always worse than my individual. Screw that.

The life lesson to take from this is people can't be trusted. If you want a job done well, you'll have to do it yourself.
And that life is unfair.

As I was picking him up from the after-school care room today, my son looked at a box of "multi-grain" crackers and read aloud "military grade crackers". He got mad because he couldn't understand why I was laughing.
And it gave me a great idea:
I'm going to go to the military surplus store and pick up a couple of MRE's.
So the next time he complains that whatever really good meal I just spent two hours making is "DISGUSTING", I can quietly take his plate away and serve him an MRE instead.
After recalling opinions of former military... Wouldn't that be child abuse?
Oh, wait... Texas.

I got used to going to bed without dinner. My mom never pressed that hard though.
Yeah. Mine parents weren't making big fuss if I didn't want to eat something. Either they gave me something else or not, depending on what was available (shortages of failing late communism/free for all early capitalism).

It's supposed to teach "teamwork".
Problem is, all you need is one kid in the group to be an ****** and everyone else suffers for it.
And after watching 4 years of this tomfoolery with Impus Major, it teaches them NOTHING about teamwork and everything about, "Working in groups SUCKS!"
Well, at least the kids are taught the truth.

Well working in groups does suck so that is accurate anyways.

Oooooooooooh, AVATARCEPTION~!
I'm actually curious about everyone around here who cosplays, and if and how they've ever done so as their own avatars. Requisite cy-based joke about avatars, here.
EDIT: that said, hand-cramps are just about the worst.
I cosplay as my avatar at every convention in the world all the time.

So, what's everyone's favorite Pathfinder city or (cities if you prefer).
Has to be a city, but doesn't need to be populated (everyone loves a lost city!).
Kaer Maga. Not necessarily for how it is written (I really haven't read much about it), but for how I messed with it in a campaign I ran a few years ago. It was...odd.

Sandpoint. Because it feels SOOOOOOO much like Albany it's not even funny. Small town (20,000 in Albany's case, 1200 in Sandpoints) within 50 miles of a major metropolitan center, yadda yadda yadda...
I love the vast differences in what people mean by "small town". You use it to mean 20k people. I don't consider that small at all. I grew up in towns of a few hundred people, maybe 1,000, until I went to high school. That town had all of 3,300 people. So, yeah, 20k is not that small to me.

I got a small town for ya. My graduating class was 23 students. It was the biggest graduating class they had ever had. Although the next years was bigger.

I go with the flow myself. I've had to do a big part of group projects myself and other times they wouldn't let me do anything so I was like OK w/e. I only do the minimum if I feel like they don't want me to do anything however.
When I was in junior high I had to do a group project with some real slackers. They assumed I would do all the work because I was a straight-A student and wouldn't want to ruin my GPA. Instead, I did exactly the work I was supposed to do, let them do absolutely nothing, and made sure that the teacher knew what was happening. She decided that because I had done my part of the project so well, that I got an A while the other 3 got F's because they hadn't done anything.

I’m not sure if I’m packing any muscle. The last time I weighed on one of those scales that show muscle mass and fat percentage, it was at Novena gym and I was 57.4 kg (126.5 lbs). I weigh on my aunts scale and I look at the weight at 56 kg (123.4 lbs), but I don’t know if I’m losing muscle or fat for that. But last week before going to my cousin’s wedding I was 55 kg (121.2 lbs) so I’m feeling rather wretched about it.
Anyway today I managed to run at 9km/h for 20 min, took a 2 min break or so then finished the last 10 min off, so I feel SLIGHTLY better about myself. I think it’s dependent on what I’m plugged into while I run. Always, Linkin Park. No substitutes.
Do you have any tips to lose that belly?
And I'm getting all kinds of commitments getting in the way of my exercise. No kickboxing tomorrow since I promised my mom I would head back to make longan icejelly.
Maybe tomorrow I get to haul myself early in the morning to go run in the gym for another 30 min, hopefully with a little more success this time.
And there's much less gym classes these days due to Christmas, so they took out some classes as instructors go on holiday etc.

I'd have probably tried to tank the entire project all by myself but I'm that kind of cat.

Crunches and sit ups. Also don't be distraught if you don't lose weight it might just mean you built up so muscle. Also make sure you take days to rest ever so often. Sometimes you have to give your body some time to rest otherwise you just slowing down your own progress.

To be honest the only time I do crunches is when they are part of the body combat workout where you’re supposed to knee up and pull your cupped hands to the side etc. How many crunches/sit ups should I be doing a day? One thing is I DO run a lot because I always thought fat loss = calorie intake < calorie output, and short of joining a body combat/kickboxing class, jogging burns calories in the fastest time.

That would require me to deal with other people. Not likely to happen.
