It's not about being bothered. I just don't do the whole "go in public" thing very often. Plus, the only time I would really be able to go while having energy would be the middle of the night on my days off. Not sure there is a 24-hour pool around here.

As I was picking him up from the after-school care room today, my son looked at a box of "multi-grain" crackers and read aloud "military grade crackers". He got mad because he couldn't understand why I was laughing.
And it gave me a great idea:
I'm going to go to the military surplus store and pick up a couple of MRE's.
So the next time he complains that whatever really good meal I just spent two hours making is "DISGUSTING", I can quietly take his plate away and serve him an MRE instead.
John, do you have any MRE stories you'd like to share, or are the memories (MREs?) still too painful?

your hotel doesn't have a pool? They would let me use ours if I wanted. I don't but I could.
Sure we do, but even if they would let me use it I wouldn't. It's tiny and I don't trust the chemical levels. They're supposedly automatically controlled, but the controller is wonky as all f@%*.

I am not John, nor were I in the military, but about 20 years ago or so I did eat an MRE. I remember it being unpleasant but not disgusting.
Also, I think memories about MREs are properly called "meMREs".

Yeah. Back when we used to have a decent maintenance guy, we would get faxes from the controller (yes, faxes) stating that the chemicals were so imbalanced that the controller couldn't rectify them, yet when he checked the levels with the test drops they were all perfectly fine. It was only the days that we didn't get a fax that the chemicals were out of balance. This despite having the entire controller/testing system replaced multiple times.

I’m not sure if I’m packing any muscle. The last time I weighed on one of those scales that show muscle mass and fat percentage, it was at Novena gym and I was 57.4 kg (126.5 lbs). I weigh on my aunts scale and I look at the weight at 56 kg (123.4 lbs), but I don’t know if I’m losing muscle or fat for that. But last week before going to my cousin’s wedding I was 55 kg (121.2 lbs) so I’m feeling rather wretched about it.
Anyway today I managed to run at 9km/h for 20 min, took a 2 min break or so then finished the last 10 min off, so I feel SLIGHTLY better about myself. I think it’s dependent on what I’m plugged into while I run. Always, Linkin Park. No substitutes.
Do you have any tips to lose that belly?
And I'm getting all kinds of commitments getting in the way of my exercise. No kickboxing tomorrow since I promised my mom I would head back to make longan icejelly.
Maybe tomorrow I get to haul myself early in the morning to go run in the gym for another 30 min, hopefully with a little more success this time.
And there's much less gym classes these days due to Christmas, so they took out some classes as instructors go on holiday etc.

It's good enough that we pass inspection, and nobody's had any problems. But I still don't trust it.

The group projects I did back in school and college made it harder for me to work on teams when I went into the workplace. I hated them, and that a slacker or two could screw it up for everyone else. My experience in work (audit) is that it was entirely accurate, and a couple screwballs can still make a weeks job into a month long one. So at least I was prepared?

Following up on what Orthos and others were saying before, I love FaWtL. I've had my shares of rants here, and shared my troubles, and it, and the wonderful people here, have helped me through some dark times. So I hope everyone feels comfortable here and is made feel welcome and has a good time, because I feel like that's what it's all about, ya know?

Best way to check if you're loosing fat vs muscle is to measure bodyparts. Since fat has more volume per weight, and you're staying about the same in weight, your circumference should to down. Measure your tummy, thighs and chest. If you're loosing fat and build muscles instead, your circumference should be going down.

I don't know about sharing my problems, well I suppose some work complaints from time to time. I think mostly I just have very little social interaction at night so a little conversation from time to time probably keeps me from talking to myself.
Really? I still talk to myself all the time.

And the a+&@+$!s are back. Although maybe I shouldn't call them that right now. There are fewer of them (6 instead of 13), they aren't playing music on their phones (although I could hear the bass pounding in their car as they pulled up), and they are sitting together so they can speak in a normal volume. Still getting drunk at 5:00am, though.

I always hope other guests complain about people like that to me so any action I take to be rid of them from that point on is justifiable.

My doctor has specifically been fussing at me about how I eat for this exact reason.
1) no carbs (that means pasta/noodles/etc.) {substitute lean meats, veggies, and fruit}
2) big breakfast, moderate lunch, tiny dinner
So far, first day on the job since the most recent visit, I managed to eat two meals with carbs and a moderately sized dinner after missing breakfast.
I'M ON IT, DOC!

Oh sorry Typo. (I know the difference darn it I just miss-typed )
That's basically just my life. I have so much rage re-reading my posts. "How could I have missed that?!" Blech.
But yes I was actually home schooled briefly hated it and went back to school. Strangely however the year of home schooling made me feel like I was ahead of everyone else.
I loooooooooooooooved being homeschooled. My mother was extremely focused (something I, personally, needed, as it turns out I'm ADD), and I actually knocked out more years' worth of work in homeschool than standard schooling. So much so that by the time I got back to regular school everything but math and science were basically just review. That was unfortunately boring, but I dealt with it.
I convinced myself that I hated math because everybody else did. I was wrong. I wish I hadn't, in retrospect, because it's pretty great!

I missed my friends and wasn't sure I was learning what I needed too and I was honestly mostly teaching myself using some education software. So I knew I wanted to go to college so I was worried about that the whole time as well. Although afterwards I realized I probably learned more from the software then actual school.

In the interest of changing to subject to something less...less.
I'm trying to get myself back in the habit of writing when I can, but I've got a lot of stories to focus on, and ADHD keeps kicking in, and since it worked for Orthos a few pages back, may as well toss in my projects. Which should I prioritize?
1. Mother-daughter relationship story involving lots of fey magic
2. Somewhat amoral entrepreneur's crew tries to clean up after various cunning plans
3. Urban fantasy involving the shattered masquerade
Errr…
2 I think…maybe a little bit of the two others mixed in?So, what's everyone's favorite Pathfinder city or (cities if you prefer).
Has to be a city, but doesn't need to be populated (everyone loves a lost city!).
Whitethrone, Mechitar, Katapesh…
Mostly any city that's truly exotic, where monsters walk the streets, the rulers are often very abnormal, and law and customs are preferably far removed from the 'normal or average'.
Its cool and all...
Thought I can't really shake the feeling that it's a hella a lot of time (, and possibly money) and effort to teach someone a lesson, which they might not really learn. As I was picking him up from the after-school care room today, my son looked at a box of "multi-grain" crackers and read aloud "military grade crackers". Over here an army issue MRE box contains stuff like jam, chocolate bars and grain'n'honey bars, hot chocolate, coffee and tea mix, mixed nuts and dried fruit, Nutella or honey, various vacuum packaged breads or biscuits, various canned foods and various dry frozen or vacuum packaged heatable foods.

Same. Our district has a lot of kids who are homeschooled K-6...and they get to junior high with staggering gaps in basic reading/writing. Like...complete emotional shut down over simple reading comprehension questions. I've heard there's similar for math, but that's not my department, so I've not really noticed.
...really makes me wonder what exactly they're doing for that stretch of time.
