My gun's pretty useless in a robbery, too. I never buy ammo, and it's locked up anyways. I'm also not a particularly good shot without veins full of adrenaline, and the thing kicks like a mule. It's one of those revolvers designed back when one handed shooting was the norm, so the ergonomics are horrible for a two handed grip, and I can't comfortably shoot .45 ACP one handed.

M'mmm, piney.
A poor substitute for lemon scented multi-surface cleaner, but I suppose it'll do.

Oh hey everybody, I'm back.
YAY! Welcome back!
I'm watching Forbidden Kingdom!
Oh, Netflix, you so cray-cray...
Also, I'm bitter that I'm not able to watch YouTube videos, Netflix Forbidden Kingdom (or whatever), and play Super Mario Galaxy 2 all on my Wii at the same time.
*whine~!*
#firstworldADDproblems
(Though I do think that there are legitimate problems that can be had in the first world, and legitimate complaints that can be made no matter your luxury, I also think that there is some valid humor to be had in such things as well. Thus, I'm not suggesting that those of us who live in the First World cannot or should not complain about things that are honestly frustrating or irritating, despite my joke about "first world problems" here.)
EDIT: capitalization fix.

Forbidden Kingdom was good, but not nearly as good as Jackie Chan and Jet Li combined should be. It was a cheesy kids movie instead of a legitimate piece of amazingness.
Why? Yeah, JC does kids stuff a lot, but he started his career grittier in China, and JL is way darker. They could have made something so much better...
6.5/10

Try a 9mm or a .40 although they don't have the stopping power of a .45 they ARE much easier to control. Depending on your skill I would go with the .40 since it works well for the police. Or if you need a cheaper gun to build your skill up with go with the 9mm.
Honestly, I'd probably get a shotgun if I felt like buying a home defense gun. I know better than to think handguns are particularly accurate in any combat situation, and my new pad is pretty small, so I'd rather scare the crap out of any potential robber and, if necessary, put out a spread of buckshot. I also have this reluctance to buy any firearm less than 40 years old, and an old, obsolete 12 gauge is still a 12 gauge.
That said, I don't have any plans to buy a firearm for self defense. Doesn't really feel like there's an impending need in my case.

I think it's brilliant, and proves once again that Lisa Stevens (and JJ, Sutter, and Wes) has the biggest balls in the industry.
Don't forget how successful and good the Technology Guide and Distant Worlds are, and did sales wise.

To be honest "Stargate" translates to the same thing...

Stargate the movie or the show.
So awesome! (Either way.)
Honestly, at this point, I'm starting to suspect that, "It's not Gundam, but at least it's not Firefly Whedon." is Freehold's general response to Sci-Fi.
I could easily be proven wrong...
*looks at Freehold, waiting hopefully*

Never saw the show but I love the movie.
The movie was first for me, and so I'll always love it for that*.
The show is so exceedingly different that, at first, I didn't like it. It grew out of that, however, and now I like it for what it is: a very different thing with some of the same actors, a few relevant in-jokes, and a great saga over-all (at least, that I've seen - I've not seen the whole thing).
* Incidentally, this was my first introduction to Kurt Russel. Between Star Gate and Soldier, my "typecast" impression of Russel was that of a grim, tortured-but-good hero who was really kind, was capable of being a loner but ultimately learned to work with others, and provided strong drama and pathos. I was... really confused when I first saw Big Trouble in Little China, Captain Ron, the 'Escape movies (because Plisskin is awesome, but also a bit of a joke character by nature), or Gardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 oh, wait that's not out yet other similar roles. Heck, I didn't even recognize him as the same guy in Overboard. Tombstone, I'll admit, showed his slightly comic side, but it was still a pathos-and-angst-filled character with deep emotional problems. Anyway...
It's actually similar with Buffy the Vampire Slayer (bringing this back around to Whedon, just for FH's benefit).
I actually really liked the corny movie - in part because it was corny. It was silly, and didn't pretend otherwise, and I enjoyed the campiness of the whole thing, even when it was trying to be frightening (and succeeding for a younger me). Thus, when the series came out and it was so-very-different, I didn't like it for being such a different thing. Over time in the first couple of seasons, I grew to enjoy it on its own terms (and I certainly found certain aspects compelling enough right away). Now I like each of them as different, but related properties.

that's only in the Old Form, sometimes called High Freeholdese. That's only used for business agreements, weddings and the like. I took a few courses of it on high school to graduate. I can really only count from one to ten and order takoyaki...that's all I remember.

I wonder if Freehold's head would explode if Whedon produced a new epic chapter in the Gundam UC timeline?
in the Olde Book Of Freeholdian Prophecy, that is slated to happen on the Day of The Apocalypse, when the three heads of the Triatic Wyrm(Whedon, Brown and Zuckerberg) enter into our world and devour without mercy, for their hunger knows no end.
It is the duty of every Freehold DM to keep this from happening. It has taken all I have to keep them in their current forms, where I resist them to the best of my ability.

I get this a lot, especially from religious people and i'll never figure out why. it's incredibly witty and well written.

I don't know that I have any religious anything against it.
It's just... it's ugly.
And I don't mean in a moral way, either.
The visuals, voices, and other presentation elements are just... it actually causes cringing while it's playing. I'm honestly just not able to be around it when it's on.
I may or may not have moral objections - I honestly don't know, as I don't watch it, as whenever I've seen it, I just keep cringing away from the visuals and sounds until it's over or I successfully get distracted by something.
Ren and Stempy (spelling? I dunno) was similar, and Rocco's Modern Life sometimes could be (but was not always). Courage the Cowardly Dog is sometimes like that, too. There's a certain point at which the style and presentation just pushes right from "weird" to "intolerable" and I really can't say why that line is there.
I'm glad some people like it. That's fine. I just... I'm not able to do it.

Welp.
Characters and game idea.
I make them. A lot. Blarg.
Current character ideas:
- a dragonne with a sentient ring-familiar that's smarter than it is (set in Eberron)
- X-COM: Enemy Unknown in Path- uh, Star-, er, Modernfinder
- Farscape... just... the whole thing EDIT: I'm considering this as a them when playing Legendary Planet, too
- Final Fantasy, though not the Corneria game (as that serves a different purpose/feel)
- STOLEN: tiny characters using the armor of a large-size character as a battleship (from here)
- others that I've been distracted out of remembering at present, but no doubt will soon come crashing back in...
