Gah. Two weeks? That's frustrating. Here's hoping the two weeks pass quickly for you and there are no further issues with getting set up.

You and me both. I printed out the email so if things don't work out I'll have the phone numbers and everything I need on-hand.

I should be receiving the setup package around the 11th or 12th, so at that point I'll just be waiting the next few days for them to flip the switch.

I'm actually kind of thankful I'll be expecting to do a bit of overtime over the next week, the extra money won't hurt and it's not as if I'll be in a horrible hurry to get home =)

Any FAWTLs in the CNY area? I'll be needing a roommate starting early-mid October.

You should move to Brooklyn with Orthos.

I just got an apartment in Georgia. I'm not moving any time soon.

Plus it's out on the day it's supposed to be! Yaaaay!

1. Rent's paid up through the end of the year, so if I were the one to move, I'd be out about a grand.

2. Moving to Brooklyn is hella expensive on its own (I know this because that's where he and his boyfriend are moving in a few weeks).

3. I really don't like Brooklyn...

Where in Georgia? Are we talking USA Georgia or Russia Georgia?

USA Georgia. Fort Oglethorpe.

I should have probably worded that as "not moving AGAIN any time soon" as I won't actually be moved until tomorrow.

Russia Georgia is just Georgia these days.

...and two Russian-supported autonomous enclaves.

Sometimes I go through my FF inspiration folder, and I come across a illustration that hits me as the monster I want to do for the week.

I couldn't not do a mythic monster for that particular illustration. :)

I know, but to this day, my mind still associates it with Russia.

To-Do list while internet-less (except at work) for a week and a half:

> Unpack and make the new apartment semi-organized
> Find something to do with all the boxes (just toss them in the attic with the grue, likely)
> Finish FF6
> Play Bravely Default
> Write some stuff for Horizon Walking
> Write some stuff about the colony next door to the Kingmaker group's colony
> Work on my various story projects

A bit under six hours according to Google. I'm up just across the border from Chattanooga.

Ok. ~get the assassination squad together with Orthos' correct address~ Go, my minions and deal with him.

Editorial nitpicking, as usual:
"It serves as a guardian for those powerful enough to perform a ritual, known only to a few powerful mages, to call it for that purpose."

Can we get some other adjective in place on of those?

Drejk wrote:

** spoiler omitted **

Spoiler:
Hee hee. I added the second powerful later, but my brain was nagging me that there was another one in the same sentence. I couldn't see it, though, so I went on right ahead.

Thanks. I will fix that.

Backhanded compliment of the week:

A girl at a show I played on Monday came up to me after the set and said something to the effect of "Wow, you really sound like Brian Fallon. I mean, the Gaslight Anthem are kind of old news and too afraid to play their instruments, and the Menzingers are way better, but you sounded good."

Thanks, college sophomore girl. Really, thanks.

How many times I wrote a sentence on FB, IRC or chat, just to facepalm as soon as I saw it on a screen because I repeated the same adjective or another word instead of using synonym or just writing something else.

As Pole that writes a bit I am more strict in that matter (or at least should be) because Polish is less tolerant of needles repetition, except for deliberate repetition used as a literary (usually more or less poetic) tool. In fact such repetition of written assignment in Polish at school would be marked by a teacher as stylistic error.

Six hours is a pretty long drive for a hangout.

Maybe we can meet up at DragonCon or something one day. I'm planning on going next year or maybe the year after that, finances permitting.

What? They moved from dollars to euro? Crap...

Time to load Never Winter Nights 2... And Risen 2... And Witcher... And Witcher 2... And... Well, maybe that's enough for now?

Ah, there is supposed to be an option during paying of switching to dollars.

What was that about Dave attracting women that are above average when it comes to awkwardness/weirdness? Oh, we hadn't any reference to that in quite a long time. ;)

Something about college girls at punk rock shows. There was the one girl who said she liked me because of how "ironically working-class" I was. And then there was the one who said that my Newgrange tattoo reminded her of the dentist's office, and the one who thought my Jawbreaker tattoo was a swastika. I could go on all day.

Would it be too much to ask for someone at least marginally normal, stable, and grounded in reality?

Also, nothing attracts rain better than a newly washed car outside. I hear thunder beginning to rumble.

Happening here too. And guess who left his umbrella in the car and windows open.
