I'm in a really foul mood right now.

No sleep at all last night, and we're actually moving on thursday.

The office got the day wrong, but I already packed all of my stuff in boxes...

And apparently Icy is also naked right now. Nice.

That's okay. The real potential is in the spun sugar concessions.

I'm sticking with my cattle prods.

This cycle of comments repeats every three months or so.
that is why this is the thread that never ends.

Now I have THAT song in my head.

Today is probably going to be primarily a packing day, except for Age of Worms time.

Tomorrow I go to sign my apartment lease and pay my first month's rent.

Wednesday I go to get the power turned on. Would have done it sooner but I needed proof of rental so had to wait until the paperwork was done.

Wednesday or Thursday I need to arrange for internet service.

All goes well, I should be able to move a few small boxes throughout the week, taking them over and dropping them off after work, then move all the big stuff on Saturday. In addition to the stuff I'm moving myself with some help from my parents and some church people, I've got one coworker delivering a chest of drawers (thankfully, since she lives way up on one of the mountains out here, which I would be very nervous about driving up/down myself) and the mattress place I bought from was doing free delivery as part of a Labor Day Weekend sale. (Got a MemoryFoam mattress for $500, no delivery cost, no tax. Pretty darn good deal.)

Add to that that we're very likely going to be doing at least some overtime at work this week, I'm probably going to be very busy.

Yup.

Hey TFY, any plans on when/if you'll be starting that WOTW game? =) Think I have a character idea settled on.

Voted two weeks in advance (my passport expires at midnight, so pre-voting was the option with the least hassle involved).

May write up a post about how the Swedish election works for tomorrow.

...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I'm also thinking about starting a Hell's Rebels Play-by-Post campaign in a bit.

...Yes, you don't get to level up for a year, but you'll have plenty of backstory when things start to get serious.

...probably a bad idea.

Thanks =) Already did a fair bit of cleanup as-is. Taking a break for lunch now.

Well I was thinking around halloween, The only thing I know is that it will be level 9 characters with appropriate WBL. Obviously you won't start with anything on you as your miserable selves will be in prison.

Also i have some houserules i want to try out. Nothing to crazy I assure you

Another fail with sending a submission (for Wayfinder): I missed that the requirements for a header in the submission... I was already using my own header with name and e-mail but no article name nor wordcount. I noticed Tim's facebook post about it, corrected and sent the submission once again... Only to Paris sending me a response that there is no attachment.

Third time's a charm. Or something.

Alrighty, no rush then =) Just curious what your policies on content are - core only, Paizo only, 3pp allowed with review, etc.?

I feel mild headache hanging just around the corner waiting to jump on me when I won't be paying attention.

Rainish today. So I got wet a bit when I went to buy a bus ticket...

Arrived home safe and sound around 3:00 am CDT this morning. My son is back at his school.

Took the dog to the dog park this morning. He had lots of fun with his dog friends and was quite worn out by the end.

And you are still nuts. ;) it was fun hanging out again, even if a majority was spent chasing Jude.

Second submission sent. Time to pack.

Good day all.

So a character of mine got a sash of storing with 8x (10lb) compartments, I was thinking of:

  • Spell Component Pouch
  • Potions*
  • Phostwood
  • Torches
  • Candles
  • Soap
  • Bottles: Wine (2), Blood (2)**, Brandy.
  • Butter, Flour***

*This is the one I'm most unsure of, I can probably put them in another extra-dimensional space.
**It's a high-undead campaign & vampires have been known to lock their doors with blood.
    ***For invisibility detection....and cakes.

  • Morning. Sleeping wasn't the best - since a few days ago I had problems with agreeing with the bed and the pillows about the right position for my back.

Time to finish packing and wash.

Two and a bit hours to bus leaving. Then three hours in bus. Then three hours waiting for plane. Then two and half hour in plane.

    Time to pack laptop.

  • What's Phostwood?

Also, I personally would take baking soda (if you can get it) instead of flour, but that's due to what happened in a previous game. The GM would often allow things that "made sense"* even if there wasn't any precedent in the rules. Sometimes he would even let things completely break the rules if they "made sense"*. Anyway, we established that since baking soda is a base, and bases neutralize acid, applying baking soda would stop lingering acid damage, and in fact, if you were sufficiently coated, could stop acid damage all together. One of our players' PCs was a fairy of some sort that had Greater Invisibility as an at will spell-like ability**, so he took a Type 1 Bag of Holding and filled it with 1/2 pound bags of baking soda. We called him the Baking Soda Fairy (which worked two ways, since the player was gay), and he took on the role with great joy. It led to some very humorous moments, like when he fluttered up to a bubbling cauldron filled with who-knows-what and dumped the entire contents of the bag into it, ruining the ritual magic being attempted by the coven of hags, as well as causing a very energetic reaction with the other ingredients.

TL;DR: I prefer baking soda for nostalgic reasons.

    * The GM's definition of what "made sense" bore very little resemblance to what the rest of us thought "made sense". We took advantage of this sometimes.

**The GM didn't really subscribe to the idea of "balance" or "fairness" when it came to choosing characters. The aforementioned fairy was allowed because the two of them were pretty good friends, where as when my brother did something to tick the GM off, he not only killed his character more-or-less out of hand, but then told him he couldn't play a psychic warrior because they were "overpowered". The fairy PC was a psion from the same source book.

Wow, cool. I'll see if there is baking soda in the setting, since our GM can be similar. (My PC has bought a bakery to give food to the poor).

Phostwood is wood from the elven forest of the same name, I believe it may have detrimental affects on undead. Alternatively, I could put in some camphor or soporific logs.

Similarly, I really should fill it with wheels of cheese for nostalgia. Since in 1 realistic game set in the middle ages, I was in charge of buying the provisions....I slightly zoned out. And cheese was the cheapest thing, so I bought a dozen wheels of cheese and some apples without realising how big they were. ¬_¬

If you had wheels of cheese, you could do like they do at the annual cheese festival where my parents live. They play "Cheese Curling". One person rolls a small wheel of baby swiss at a target about 25' away, while another runs alongside with a broom to guide it and knock it over as close to the mark as possible.

I still find it odd that the oldest depictions of Hastur (at least that I've heard of) considered him to be a somewhat benevolent entity compared to more recent depictions. Not something one would expect when thinking about a Great Old One.

I suppose the Old Ones are meant to be more incomprehensible than evil, but that's an interesting depiction - was that from a real historical religion? It'd not surprise me if he was re-purposed.

Apparently Hastur appeared in a story written by Ambrose Bierce as a deity of shepherds, and wasn't evil in that tale.

    Sorry for the long silence.

    Spoiler:
*sigh* Bedbugs are back. Discovered during the holiday weekend quite by accident. I think we killed them all, but this seems to be a new infestation brought on by...god alone knows what. At first the wife thought it was my fault as she discovered a hastily patched hole in the supposedly bedbug proof futon cover that was in disarray, but there were no bedbugs there- only in the usual hiding spots in corners of the mattress nd there seemed to be too many of them for one mattress. I went into a frothing rage, seeing red, as I killed them, she was considerably calmer in directing my fury and seeking them out. We have ordered a new air mattress(HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA goodbye moneys!), and will be tossing the futon as soon as it arrives, but we undertook other actions too, as my wife whipped out our new caulking gun and got sealing. It turns out that we may have hit the..ah..bedbug-lode as we discovered one of our walls in the hallway closet is in horrible shape due to water damage. For any and all who live in apartments, this is the closet that is in almost all apartments that is in front of our water and sewage pipe, it shares a wall with the kitchen and bathroom. Upon sealing that area up with caulk, we discovered the fabled "coriander scent" that bedbugs use when they are in great numbers to communicate. Wife isn't sure whether or not that is a good thing, but this is the first time we have EVER encountered this scent, and as you all know we threw out our furniture over a year ago. Whatever she did has them communicating, so that as to be a good thing on some level. Who knows, maybe this is where they were hiding all along, maybe this is how they made their way into our apartment in teh first place. I'm trying to think optimistically, but...ugh..bedbugs. We had to cancel the Darklight sisterhood game and I am thinking we will play aagain at a neutral location this upcoming sunday.
