Gah!
I burned myself on something that wasn't even supposed to be hot!
There is this drawer beneath the oven where we store bakeware, and the pan in there was as hot as if I was pulling it out of the oven itself. Usually those things are insulated. Now I know this one is not.
Noted!

Jess Door wrote:F(u)atoru no hitobito will be my new battle cry.Kajehase wrote:Also, it came up blank for "々."々 is a "ditto" mark. so you look at the character before, 人.
人々 = 人人 = person person = people.
ファトルの人々 is f(u)atoru no hitobito = (my sounding out of FAWTL)'s people = FAWTL folk!
the "(u)" is because there's no "fa" sound in japanese, the only "f"-like sound is "fu" (which is somewhere between "hoo" and "foo" in pronunciation). in the japense system, fu falls in the "H" column of sounds:
ha (hah)
hi (the English word "he")
hu (very soft "f" sounding "foo" (with a short "oo"))
he (hey)
ho (hoe)
so to mimic the english "F" they use "fu"...but for words like "fey" or "fear", they use "fu" with a whispered sort of "oo" sound, and another vowel immediately after.
...
that ended up a lot less simple than I thought it would be when I started typing this explanation...
ファ= fa
フィ= fi
フ= fu
フェ = fe
フォ= fo

because now, yeah, no way I would use an electric stove, given the choice
Ditto.
Except about the part where Lamontia taught you how to cook. I have not been privileged with her tutelage.

Well, technically Derek isn't currently in Houston, but I believe he is due back soon. And of course adding LPM and Solnes in a couple weeks.
Widen that search to Texas overall and there are a few more.
Already looking at flights for future FAWTLcon options. Not actually that expensive 500-600 and I`d be there. Another 1000 for hotel food and a souvenir or 2. Doable.
Edit: That is if you guys would have me there :P

2 people marked this as a favorite. |

wait isn't that where the broiler pan goes
so that you can, you know
broil stuff in there
*lightbulb*
Egads!
Growing up I always had an electric oven, so that was a storage drawer. It turns out on gas ovens like this one, that is actually the broiler.
So... I should really not store anything in there.

And it is official no shipping notice for me. Likely Monday it looks like.*Sigh*
O well back to video games for me, and continued mantra of patience.
Also this weekend is the celebration of my 30th birthday even though that doesn`t happen until the 31st of August. I will try and be positive and happy with that, I get to have lobster this weekend :)

Yeah, definitely going to have to make Houston Detour plans for my USA Round Trip in 2-3 years.

So one of my friends/former players is going to be with us for about four months - coming back stateside from a long deployment in Afghanistan and Germany in Late Sept/Early Oct, and going back to Afghanistan in January.
Since we can't fit him into our ongoing Kingmaker game for various reasons, and we don't want to saddle the two newbie GMs with him (he's really experienced, though mostly in 3.5 and hasn't quite made the PF jump in full, and has a penchant for rules lawyery), it looks like Scint's Monday night Council of Thieves game may be temporarily replaced by a short-term game run by me. Have to talk to her about it when she gets home, but given she's been working on the next bit for a while and isn't sure when she'll be ready, I'm pretty sure she'll be okay with it.
So what I'm probably gonna do is string together a bunch of modules. Four months isn't enough time to run an AP, and I'm not gonna start one I can't finish, but I should be able to do a few modules in there. Pretty sure Doom Comes to Dustpawn is going to be on that list. Maybe Devil of Darkwood and/or parts of Thornkeep. If I do anything with an AP, it's gonna be butchering the one chapter of Serpent's Skull I don't plan to use in my future Savage Tide game, but I'm trying to keep this simple and avoid having to do a bunch of homebrewing or extra prep (I get enough of that with Kingmaker and I only have so much free time) so that's unlikely. Also I can't think of a way to fit an Indiana Jones-type ruin-raiding adventure into a string of mostly inland-based modules. =)
Given the nature of Kingmaker I'm going to be avoiding more fey like the plague.

The next chapter's all set, but given how...well...flying by the seat of my pants has served me, I'd not turn down the extra time to play Pokemon and watch LPs prep the rest of the game.
