Alternatively - catfolk caster. No justification required.
No! No! A caster that was baleful polymorphed into a kitten, but made the will save!!!!
We had this happen with an eldritch knight enemy in my 3.5 game. She was baleful polymorphed into a kitten. We encouraged the wizard, who was closest, to kick the kitten...and as he tried to do so, she lightning bolted him in the face and ran off.
A year later, during a city evacuation, the party had managed to get the great oracle out of the city before it fell to the death cultists, who were slaughtering everyone in sight. As the ship pulled out of the harbor, the old oracle sat on a bench on the ship, and a cute little cat meowed and jumped on her lap. The party didn't think anything of it...until the cat cast finger of death, killed the oracle, and teleported out.
O.o
She got changed human again after that, and had a bit of a grudge against the druid that polymorphed her. We were forced to kill her not long ago. My character has her artifact lightning bolt 20' reach weapon now.
It's very nice.

Scint has an entire future campaign planned around a paladin who got BPed into a dog and made the second save.
Expanding on this - it'll probably be more an extended one-shot to break up tension between serious plots. But the story here would be that an adventuring party got to the final boss and lost - BP'd paladin was the only escapee, can't do anything except use Lay on Paws at present, goes home to find a way to break the news.
...The children of said adventurers (also known as the PCs) decide "Hey, we're going to be heroes, too! Let's find Mommy/Daddy!" The paladog will spend the entirety of the campaign attempting to bring them back home in one piece.

Okay, little miss. Just because you're born on the inside doesn't mean you can't become a proper upstanding citizen. Look at Inspector Javert!

My first thought on hearing paladog was Sir Didymus, but that works too. :D

It's hard to resist the temptation.
He said crickets are fair game, though.
I like crickets...

This reminds me of the old nes game Legacy of the Wizard for some reason.

Nah. But you should totally watch the movie. For Sir Didymus and his mount the cowardly sheepdog Ambrosius if nothing else. :)

*shrugs* Both sects are misguided in their single minded focus and missing the bigger picture. Jedi confuse their rejection of emotions for balance while Sith are too obsessed with power and control over others but in truth they let their own hunger control them.
