I LOVE statting up interesting character concepts in my free time. Sadly, I'm having a bout of writer's block and I have a long weekend ahead of me.
Please give me some suggestions on interesting character concepts to stat up. If you give me something worth writing about, in return, you will be given a nice looking PDF character sheet (nearly identical to an official statblock writeup) of the proposed concept.
The best characters are interesting both mechanically AND conceptually.

Cowboy. Doesn't have to be a gunslinger but ought to have the feel.
Yeah. I've done that one already. This one is kind of like one of those crazy movie cowboys who lights dynamite with his cigar and blows up a building full of snipers behind him.

Does it have to be a Pathfinder-legal concept?
I prefer a setting neutral concept. I have all the Pathfinder hardbacks and I would very much like to keep v3.5 out of it (though I also own ALL of the v3.5 hardbacks as well--and some v3.0 ones).

I've been toying with making a cavalier devoted to finding out what happened to Aroden, and maybe questing to bring him back.
Probably from that crowd in Absalom, or maybe one of the holdout Arodenites in Cheliax (at least I think some are there).
Not evil, but ruthless. Singleminded, thinks the only way the world can be saved is if the terrible wrong that was done is fixed.
Basically he believes that the world is doomed unless things are set right, so anything is permissible to attain that goal.
Other than that, his ideals and behavior are of the highest. He'll do good things, but bringing Aroden back must come first.
Cultured, knowledgeable. Some traits to get various knowledge skills. Knows how important magic is, do has the dangerously curious trait for use magic device.
Kind of like General Tarquin from OOTS, but Lawful Neutral and younger.

I know you already accepted a concept but I have always tried to make a character that used tons of different weapons all at the same time, using quick draw to quickly change weapons in battle as conditions changed, like shotting arrows when the enemy is far away, then dropping the bow and pulling out a spear to ready against a charge, then switching to two weapons to maximize attacks, followed by some throwing axes to eliminate fleers. I would think barbarian or fighter or multiclass would be the way to go.

Lily Oleander, Poison Ivy concept
That one was too easy.
By all means, please continue to feed me new concepts. It's going to take more than one or two to get me through this weekend.
Keep trying even after this weekend has passed, you might just peek my interest enough for me to flesh out your concept.

I'm taking part in a pirate-based game using a system of unarmored dodge bonuses based on class armor proficiencies.
My friend created a half-orc barbarian with a slant toward wit and dignity over the typical grunting brute. Looking at the APG, one thing he considered was taking advantage of the new archetypes and rage powers to come up with a sundering machine. We mused about the potential to level entire ships with an adamantine weapon and a variety of feats and bonuses, but he ended up favoring a more conventional combat build, having never played a barb before.
Maybe someone who topples a watchtower by himself, a Samson who brings down the Philistine temple, or just the guy who wades through the town guard, crushing all of their weapons and leaving the unarmed enemies for his allied forces to round up from there. Someone who always leveled the other kids' block fortresses as a kid and never grew out of it.

the concept actually was first done by Don Kaye a member of Gygax's original gaming group. His character was Murlynd, a paladin/wizard who eventually became one of Greyhawk's pantheon of Hero-Dieties. On a series of thier more off the wall adventures, they actually spent some time on Boot Hill Earth.

An evil summoner whose Eidolon looks like an angel so he can twist it and bind it to his will and toss it uncaringly at vicious monsters. There is no rule that the Eidolon must be of the same alignment, so it can start good and change it over time (or maybe the reverse!)
Actually there is...
An eidolon has the same alignment as the summoner that calls it and can speak all of his languages.
The Eidolon matches the alignment of the sorcerer. The eidolon changes it's alignment whenver the summoner does. Of course a chaotic evil sorcerer can summon a chaotic evil eidolon which can LOOK like an astral deva if he chooses to fashion it so.

A character who uses the wonderious items Marvelous Pigments and speed crafting to reduce the time to make it. Try to get it as close to combat viable as you can. good luck. Oh , also try to keep him as close to a green lantern as you can.
Edit - side note on this. can you draw a tunnle or door on a wall and it becomes real?

Eh gads! My laptop's died!
I woke up this morning to find that it wouldn't even turn on! (I'm typing from a friend's computer at the moment.)
I just got back from the PC repair shop and it looks like it wil l be a few days before I get my laptop back (even then there's no guarantee everything will be fine).
I will happily continue to review your requests (when I can) and I will eventually pick a couple here and there to stat out, provided they are interesting of course. However, without the software from my laptop, I won't be able to create fancy character sheets like I have been doing as of late.
As such I'm likely done for this weekend (which sucks as now I'm going to go all battty for sure).
Keep 'em coming!

Gonna throw around some concepts that Ive played or have considered at one stage or another [Hopefully wont offend anyone]
O An extremely devoted purist Paladin (No sins of the flesh kid of person) Harboring Homo-erotic tendencies, always an "interesting" roleplaying sit when the party find the character in the embraces of a "escort" at the local Inn.
O A young wizard/Sorcerer who decided to animate their close childhood friend, yeah your familiar is a stuffed animal that doubles as a back pack, good times.
O A Fairy Artificer/Alchemist who has stolen or created a ring of create water, now for an average human thats not so scary, but imagine if you will what 10 Gallons of water must look like when your 2 Inches tall.
O An exotic glass merchant from the far desert, his sculptures are known far and wide for being so detailed, kinda helps when you use fire spells to Glass monsters covered in sand.
O The glutton, go for the monk with a love for food, or perhaps its a kobold who has decided he will sample the meats of the land, both monster and intelligent beings alike.
O A rouge specialized in the use of the Deadliest weapon known to man-kind.... The butterfly net, What? The handles made of dark wood and the net itself is garrote wire, O did i mention the base of the net constricts like a man catcher, ouch. [This one is borrowed from a friend, she wields that weapon in a current game, DANGEROUS.]
O The paper mage, this spell caster loves their paper crafts and Origami, and why shouldnt they, with spells like animate object and explosives runes its sure to be a good time.
Hope these help, they are some of the more obscure ones I could think of.

This one's a bit less blatant than the others, but how about an adventuring commoner folk hero type, kinda like Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk and his lot from fairy tales and folklore. A guy who just pretty much relies on his wit, luck, and the friends he meets along the way to help him out. Probably a fairly basic rogue, but you never know.
Fallen_Mage |
I know it's not suppose to be specific but, what about an Abyssal or Infernal Bloodline Sorceror trying to get rid of the 'tainted blood' by becoming a Paladin.
or
A minion of a BBEG that escaped his masters fate.
Scratch that, try these from The Pirates of Dark Water:
- Ren
- Ioz
- Tula
- and Bloth

Sounds good. I actually need this character for an upcoming encounter in my campaign, and I've statted her this way and that and haven't found a way I liked yet. Details under the spoiler:

Here's a terrible one that came up in a conversation with a friend the other day.. the Dragon Molester...
A ranger who has a fetish for dragons... think a furry but for dragons. Favored enemy=dragon, favored terrain=... dragon... lol. It started when my friend mentioned the Bruce Lee movie "enter the dragon" and I said "whether he likes it or not!"
He would of course wear dragonhide armor
..

Monk-Magus, perhaps somthing in a Halfling or Kobold :)
Gnome Paladin-Alcamist LG
Or Kobold Cavalier :)
Or perhaps a Halfling Inquisitor, Neutral, devoted to the Green, and is out to defend the natural ways and punish those who would destroy the wild places... like loggers and those who would dump in rivers and such... ecco terrorist :)

Have you ever seen the show Numbers? How about a gy that fights evil with math! Fractal spells! Geometric fighting moves!
Ravingdork |
Ben from LOST
He'd just be a rogue with little combat ability and maxed out intelligence, charisma, and social skills. I'll consider it.
Ravingdork wrote:Just out of curiosity, what are you using to put together those character sheets?

If you're interested in class creation, I've been trying to wrap my head around a 1/2 BAB natural attack melee-oriented class that gains combat ability through transmutations.
Bite
Claws
Gore
Rend
Grow
Shrink
No Armor proficiency
Natural Armor
Dodge Bonuses
Slow fall (through a fluff mechanic like temporarily growing a skin membrane under his arms)
Able to get through various types of DR
Maybe has some of his own DR and/or SR
Possibly electricity charged attacks at higher levels (kind of like the shocker lizard)
Anything I've thought of so far has either been too weak, too powerful, too complicated or too boring.
I've been thinking along the lines of high HD, progressive damage in natural attacks, and possibly bonuses to Str and/or Dex to make up for the low BAB.
Making the player want to choose to use the natural attacks over using weapons without making the natural attacks too powerful has been my biggest hangup I think.

I AM familiar with:
- Ben from Lost
- Bloth, Ioz, Ren, and Tula from Pirates of Darkwater (all possible cantidates)
- Necro-Druid guy from Brotherhood of the Wolf (don't recall much though, was this the guy with the chain sword?)
I am NOT familiar with:
- The guy from the show Numbers
- Hawk from Dragon AGe 2
I likely won't do any characters that involves molestation or any other form of sexual deviancy. I will NOT make characters from popular shows, games, movies, or other media, but I might make characters based off of/sinspired by characters from said media if they itnerest me.
Currently working on:
- Super fast skirmisher
- Goblin alchemist

Yeah, I would have been shocked and sort of disturbed if anyone actually showed interest in making 'The Dragon Molester'... LOL..
How about a half-orc pirate named Greenbeard?
Or a massively overweight fleshy Elf Wizard who pretends he is a Bloatmage but is really just fat.
Heheheh...
Ok maybe something more serious,
Maybe a humorless Monk bent on dominating and frightening those who do not have the discipline to be strong.. with the Enforcer feat, probably Hungry Ghost archetype.

You should try to make Inuyasha from the anime/manga Inuyasha
Bertious wrote:O.o What type of weapon is he using? It's longer than a sword, and is like half blade, half grip... odd, that, but interesting...Here's a link you can probably guess which one is hawke :)
It appears to be a cross between a sword and staff, seeing as Hawke can cast spells and in the Dragon Age world (at least what was presented in the first game) only mages can cast spells and he definitely casts spells.

This has been done, but I'd like to see your take on it:
A team of adventurers of dubious charisma, who have an NPC "hero" as their front man. He gets the glory (and the blame) and they get the cash.
A 'hero' with the looks and reputation of a mighty warrior; actually he's a mind-controlling spellcaster who manipulates parties of adventurers into having his adventures for him, and then 'rewriting' the adventures. (Hey, maybe the reason the barbarian is running around in a loincloth is because he's an arcane caster - anyone ever think of that?
A bard who whose 'performance' is giving motivational speeches.
A paladin in black leather, with the evil goatee and look, whom everyone just assumes is a villain.
The leader of a pacifist "Orc and Goblin Rights" organization, protesting blatant stereotypes and discrimination.
... I still liked your gnoll sage...
