If Harry Dresden gated into Golarian, based on his current experiences up to Cold Days, what would his Pathfinder class/stats look like..
I mean he's got to have some templates at the very least..and I see him approaching mythic status a few books from now..
Dunno. Haven't read the books.

Oh, I see. Convenient!
1) Just how much many people know about how the afterlife works, generally? That is, you become a petitioner with no memory of who you were, get cycled through, become an outsider? Is it something that only a few particularly powerful clerics and such that are close to their deities know, is it something that almost any major church would know in the upper ranks but not necessarily want spread around, is it something that most cosmopolitan types would know, but might not have gotten to certain areas? I say this since I have at least one character who believes that reincarnation is the default and not the exception, as a product of her society that believes that (not very god oriented, they tend to venerate elementals, some fey, ghosts of their ancestors, etc.) but sometimes I wonder if it's realistic...
2) What is it about the negative energy plane that drives undead to evil? It itself isn't evil, but pretty much any undead that isn't a ghost is...is it just because while it itself isn't evil, being powered by the antithesis to life itself either makes them deranged or strongly desire to do things that are evil?
3) For that matter, why do good-aligned clerics get access to positive energy and evil-aligned clerics to negative energy? Neither is in and of itself good or evil...is it just indicative of the kind of mindset you need to have to be close to one or the other? Or just an artifact from previous editions?
1) It's not common knowledge at all, and there's a lot of misinformation and poor assumption going on.
2) It's not the negative energy plane that does it. It's the fact that undead are an abomination against life that makes them evil. It's kinda a chicken and egg thing too.
3) Because that's what Jason decided to have happen. It's basically the mindset; if you're good, you help folks. If you're evil, you hurt them.

Probably a evocation specialized wizard with a ghost familier that resides inside a skull. Add levels of fae to represent his transformation into a knight of the fae court.
For those who don't know Dresden is from the Dresden Files and is a "thug" wizard whose story is told in a noir style. The books are really good, tv show not so much.

If a shadowdancer is within dim light and can thus use Hide in Plain Sight, yes, that lets him try to Stealth against everyone. Low Light Vision and darkvision don't particularly help or limit this.
I am not quite understanding this particular rule. I see that Hide in Plain Sight (for the Shadowdancer) requires that the character be within 10 feet of an area of dim light or shadow for this ability to work. That being said, and comparing this to plain stealth (upon which Hide in plain sight is based), there is an entry about being observed and making a bluff check to distract opponents so you can hide. You must be within a reasonable distance (say...10feet) of cover or concealment to do this. Also, it says in the core rulebook that not all concealment is effective. For example, a character using shadows as concealment for his stealth ability is not effective against creatures with Darkvision. So, are you saying that a Shadowdancer within 10 feet of a shadow does not actually use the shadow as concealment? It seems to me that the opening statement of Hide in Plain sight where it says "use stealth..." is misleading since stealth requires either cover or concealment. It sounds more like invisibility to me if this is the case.

That's my opinon. What would be the requirements in your opinon necessary to successfully construct a revolver in game? At what level should a gunslinger be able to craft it?

Mr. James Jacobs,
In your estimation would a half-celestial/fiend with a common race mortal parent have a normal lifespan, an extended lifespan, or and live until killed lifespan?
What about a half-fiend/celestial who become via a class or prestige class capstone ability? For Example a 3.5 Mountebank.

Okay... let's see here...
Runelords: PCs win, Xin-Shalast location is revealed to world.
Crimson Throne: PCs lose, Illeosa still rules Korvosa.
Second Darkness: PCs win, knowledge of drow becomes public.
Legacy of Fire: PCs win, town of Kelmarane restored.
Council of Thieves: PCs win, Westcrown no longer fears the night.
Kingmaker: PCs win; new nation established in Stolen Lands.
Serpent's Skull: PCs partially win, but Ydersius continues to be a danger.
After that, we get into a realm where I'm actually not all that familiar with several APs... so I haven't thought out my preferences...
Carrion Crown: no preference
Jade Regent: PCs win, Ameiko is empress.
Skull & Shackles: PCs win, one of them becomes new Hurricane King/Queen.
Shattered Star: PCs win, save Magnimar from tidal wave, defeat Xin, Shattered Star restrored.
Reign of Winter: PCs win, Anastasia put on throne of Irrisen.
Wrath of the Righteous... WAIT AND SEE!!!

All questions even remotely to do with stealth and the like should be in the rules forum for an FAQ.
My take... for the shadowdancer to hide in plain sight, he needs to be near shadows or darkness and slips into the darkness and vanishes when he makes his successful Stealth check. Note that Darkvision doesn't grant any bonus to perception checks. You get to make the check to see the shadowdancer, but if you fail, doesn't matter. She's hidden. If this effect were invisibility, you wouldn't get a Perception check.

That'd depend ENTIRELY on the campaign I wanted to run and my conversation with the player. If I were running, say, Skull & Shackles, guns are more on-theme and I might let the construction happen at 4th level or so. But if I were running something like Rise of the Runelords, I might have it put off until after 10th level or more.
It's not an answer I can give you that covers all possibilities.

Just read my brand new copy of Faiths and Pantheons (which is AWESOME!!!), and I had a question regarding Pantheism. It mentions paladins are common pantheists. I believe I read somewhere on the boards that even if a divine spellcaster is a pantheist, they still draw their actual power from a single patron deity. How does this work with paladins? I believe earlier you yourself mentioned that (PFS aside) paladins don't have to have an actual deity patron to follow their code and gain their power.

Hi James, RtrnofdMax suggested that I post here for a clarification on Inquisitions for Non-Major Deities. Here is the original post I made in the linked thread, particularly regarding PFS play:
For those characters that wish to venerate minor deities, archdevils, demon lords, qlippoth lords, empyreal lords, horseman, elemental lords, the eldest (and so on), what inquisitions, if any, are legal for play?
On page 41 of Ultimate Magic it states that the Conversion Inquisition is available to "Any deity." Now in Faiths & Philosophies the Excommunication, Redemption, and Reformation Inquisitions are listed without any deities. The only source I've seen to exclude specifics. Currently the Additional Resources page states "Inquisitions: all inquisitions on page 23 are legal for play" in regards to Faiths & Philosophies. So, am I interpreting it correctly that these four inquisitions are legal, and perhaps the only legal Inquisitions, for PFS characters of all non-major deities?

I think having a separate "native" race of Outsiders would be useful for explaining the sociological and religious differences (whatever they might me, but perhaps focused on placating evil spirits at least in the Mesoamerican analogue) in Arcadia. So I am very interested in this idea. Arcadia, after Vudra, is my second-favorite undescribed part of Golarion.
I'm still hoping that Kachinas will get a Bestiary entry at some point myself.

Paladins can either worship one deity, worship several deities with one favored deity, or simply worship several deities (a pantheon). They gain their spells not from a deity in that case, but from their own devotion to law and good.

What was your first reaction to reading a Lovecraft story? I ask this as when I read my first one—Dunwich it was and made me a fan, as should be obvious by my "Least Spawn of Yog-Sothoth" alias—I was taken with the skill of his descriptions, but didn't feel any fear or horror. It was well written, but not very scary to me.
Then I went to bed shortly after finishing it and found myself staring into the darkened corners of the room for the next hour. I call it the "Sleeping Horror" effect, where the initial reaction is mild but the imagery works on the imagination quietly until soon after it has a strong effect. Lovecraft was great at creating this in my opinion. So I'm curious about your reaction to your first story, if you can remember.

The first Lovecraft story I read was "The Moon Bog," and I wasn't super impressed. I was MUCH more impressed with Robert Bloch's "Notebook Found in a Deserted House" in the same collection, which is VERY much a Lovecraftian story, and that's the story that got me started, really.
The next Lovecraft story I read was Charles Dexter Ward, and I loved it. Devoured it. And immediately went out to buy a bigger collection of his books.

Awesomesausages! So, by that logic, can there be an atheist paladin, or is the nature of the class inextricably tied to divinity of some kind that would lead an atheist to reject it?
