Hm, thread hasn't moved much lately has it?

Yeah, mine too, How am I supposed to work AND browse Paizo when my machine is running so slowly.

Guess I need to prioritise.

Yea. Paizo is way more interesting.

Sad panda! It took 5 mins to load on my work puter. =(

OK, I've hit my threshold today. I'm gonna walk away from the Paizo boards for awhile. It's even tainting my enjoyment of FaWTL and the other fun OTD threads.

I'll still be on Facebook (sorry Freehold), but I can't stand it here right now.

Sorry to hear it Ambrosia, hope things get better after a short time away.

That is why I usually try to stay away from the political threads ... and the religious threads ... and the rules question threads ... and the play-test threads ... and the 'why is this product late?' threads ...

How is the new job Lilith? Run us through a typical day.

'Tis fabulous. I get to help all you lovely people with order issues, rub the Magic 8 Ball to divine where international shipments got off to, and generally make myself useful out of the office. Note that "useful" may or may not apply to staring at the gorgeous printout of the Big Ass Map.

Augh! Finally got kidlet to bed. Only an hour and a half late. How does he manage to stretch out ordinary activities like that?

Nah, I heard something in particular, and was letting certain people know that I had heard the particular in question. Any sucking up was just gravy.

:D

What a sad individual I am. I'm actually enjoying gluing together and painting my second set of trees. I also ordered the core rule book red dragon to paint. When that guy arrives I'll be posting facebook pics for everyone.

There are no pensions anymore, at least according to my old company's bankruptcy proceedings. And our employee stock program stock's value is now zero. Hooray for hard work and years of loyalty!
Yikes...I'm sorry to hear that, Treppa.

On the bright side, the C-level execs who drove the company into bankruptcy never missed a multi-million bonus! That's the important thing.

Am I bitter? No, no....

Thank goodness I work for the banking industry now.

Oh...

I remember one project in college I put off until the night before. It would be simple. no problem to complete that night.

then I got sick.

I ended up raving in a delerious fever while hopped up on cold medicine and caffiene. I finished the project at about 5 a.m., then crashed for a few hours. The next day, after my illness cleared up enough that I was able to mostly think rationally again, I checked the executable I turned in - it ran perfectly. I tested it with boundary conditions, it handled them wonderfully.

Then I looked at the code.

It was absolutely incomprehensible. I spent hours trying to figure out what I'd been doing, and how I'd made it work. Never did manage to figure it out...

it was a little bit frightening.

Some of my best code was when I was over-caffeinated because I had procrastinated. Unfortunately, I usually had to spend a lot of time afterwards making sure someone else could maintain it later. :)

I think it's going around. Everyone seems to be having a bad/busy day on the job. Possibly because it's getting close to turkey day and everyone is getting stressed.
This is a every week occurrence here. Everyone always comes asks us first.

You just need to make yourself less convenient. Claymores work, or so I've heard.

I love the lever action shotgun though. I really wish they had some mods for it, but I've used it since I got my hands on it at lvl 4 and I'm 29th now. I think it may even be the weapon I blew Caesar's head off with. I thought Boone was going to start humping my leg after I did that. :P
I love Boone! You know how he says "Let me aim that for you next time"? My hearing is bad and I thought he said "I'm aiming at you next time." I was like wth, do we need to talk Boone?
Cass is my favorite companion, but Veronica is by far the funniest IMO, "I was young and needed the money ok!?" lol.

In a game I ran, one of the characters wantonly killed people who were "zombified" (they got better, well, if they weren't shot in the head). He also looted them after killing them. Another character, aghast, asked him what he was doing. His reply was, "They were zombies, and we needed the money."

Does anyone remember this old D & D spoof? It was circa 1st edition or so. In it the "players" became super powerful and were out to rule the world. It has a female human facing off against an evil female half elf. Oh, and the Paladin was a "normal" Paladin who's holy sword was taken by one of the uber powerful characters. I have been looking for a copy of that spoof story for a while.
