Nekkid shuffle for TotP.

Wishes I didn't want to sleep my day off away.

Fridge broken... :( Need to mop the kitchen, wash the counters, and wipe down the walls so that we can call the landlord to let him know.

Ahh Sunday. Hopes roommate an convince his mom to borrow season 3 & 4 of Stargate SG1, finished seasons 1 & 2 this past week. Not bad considering I never really followed it religiously when it aired.

Hey Mac good day for your lions today.

Heh, so Hubby just screwed his old company. A friend of ours is the Supervisor of security for a campground that they treat. Apparently he threw them off this week. Hubby just let slide some news that maybe one of their employees is on the sex offenders list. Now he won't let the guy on the property at all.

The Opening was awesome, thank you! :)

Going to show Kellen and Arden how to do dishes and laundry. Time the lazy scrubs helped out a bit more. When I was their age....yada yada yada....

No worries, I know how you feel. Maybe next time.

You should still come to Rochester sometime. Not that it's much better...

In addition to my visit to Syracuse yesterday, we had to meet somebody in Buffalo on Friday evening who was buying one of my partner's old camera lenses. The guy was coming from Toronto, and picked a random McDonald's to meet. This was the dodgiest McDonald's I've ever seen. There was an armed guard. Needless to say, the presence of an armed guard freaked out the Canadian. Fun times.

That, and their viewers.

I voted but damn what a waste. Also I am watching a good b Movie right now. ZONE TROOPERS.

Should have told him you hired the guard in case he was a terrorist. Might have gotten a few more bucks out of him. ;)

Ours may be even closer than that, although I rarely eat there. The food is always good, but I feel like in that price bracket, there are better, local places to eat.

That said, it was pretty darn good.

Had a job interview with Garden Ridge for a Facilities Tech position this morning.

Pros:
Flexible hours that can be moved about to fit my needs, which means I could work it as a 'second job' if something better comes up.
Potential to move into a 'traveling' position which would pay much more.

Cons:
Part time.
Starting pay is a bit less than I was hoping, which means considerably less than I really should be making.

I'll definitely take it if they call, I was just hoping for a bit more.

Good luck! I hope it turns into something good for you.

Is that a mom and pop place? I've never heard of it.
As long as it's not a fertility clinic run by extraterrestrials he should be safe. ;P

It's the switching of the roles between the girl and boy siblings that irks me. The movie made it more a stereotype.

That was bizarre and didn't really need to change, admittedly. The mathematician who's name I really should remember going from "S*** will happen, and when that s*** happens this whole place will go down like a house of cards" to "You have tampered in God's domain" is annoying but understandable, and I only really noticed it on retrospect. The mathematician ** spoiler omitted ** was another silly change for no real reason.

So, yeah. Heavily simplified and a few weird changes, but don't you dare say either the book or the movie wasn't good.

Book: Good.

Movie: Balls.

It is one of the classic "gets computer technology wrong" movies.

The worst offender was "The Net".

It's been a mixed week. The bad, well, the kidlet has been in constant trouble at school this week. :( And today was home sick with a head cold. :(
The good: The kidlet got approved for the research study at the UM Autism center. Woohoo! And I got perfect scores on both my chemistry and algebra tests this week. :)

Looking forward to gaming tonight. My poor character is having the worst week of her life. But it's made for some truly hilarious in-game moments so far. We'll see how this plays out....

Anyhow, hoping y'all had a good week. And now that I've given up on having to read the back posts, I'll start checking in again.:)

Good. The new store is opening next week, and I will be headed down there. I think being in a hospital will be a fairly steady stream of customers. The new boss is a real cool guy, and has some vision about expanding, which is refreshing in these times. Plus, I have the time off I need to watch my daughter. So it's a win-win.

Cool. I knew you had a new job, but I didn't know where.

Meh. Sometimes it's all too much.

My partner has been so depressed and agitated about not finding a job since graduating. He's been reaching out to friends just to occupy himself, but they're all to flakey to be any help. He sits at home a lot, which is depressing.

I work a job everyone knows I can't stand and come home tired but feel like I have to entertain somehow. With no time for myself, my writing projects for grad schools are at a standstill. And somehow for all that effort, I never have enough money, and still live paycheck to paycheck.

I can see the way out, sort of, but it all depends on us staying miraculously motivated, which is in shorter and shorter supply lately. Yesterday was bad. It dawned on me in choir practice yesterday that I was only there because they are paying me; I don't enjoy it anymore because my mind is always elsewhere. But I have to find a way to continue to stay strong enough for two.

Anyway, I just needed to vent.

Is there anyplace nearby that he could volunteer? Volunteer agencies often need help, it would get him out of the house, improve his feelings of self-worth, and might even get him networked with people who can aid his job search. It also looks better on a resume than "between college and now I've been sitting around." As a hirer, I respected volunteers as people who were motivated enough to do something with themselves and give back to the community, even without pay.

On the downside, it can sometimes be difficult to find a volunteer agency that simply needs willing hands or that one fits in with well. But it's worth a shot or two. If not, can he knit or crochet? I can send some yarn and he can make us some hats and scarves for the shop!

In the meantime, good luck. It is hard to work at a job you dislike, but knowing that you're the breadwinner is good motivation, huh? Nothing like feeling trapped. Keep your chin up. Things are starting to improve, though slowly. It really *could* be worse.

+1 to all the above. :)

THERE'S A NEW BABY IN THIS WORLD!

I don't know its name or location. I'm just playing the odds.

I hate to rain on anybody's parade, but do we know whether there might not be a simple error in the statistics? Blah blah blah.

So, at the start of our game last night, the DM couldn't remember the name of the bar we PCs usually met our Pathfinder client in. So I humbly offered a newly invented name - The Crusty Whore.

He didn't go for that, but instead used The Trusty Whore.

Now, he's decided the name of our campaign shall be Tales from the Trusty Whore.
