In the past 10 minutes, my partner's mother and his best friend have contacted me concerned. And he won't answer the phone... The friend messaged me because she's talking to him right now. Just particularly depressed today, by the sound, but it makes me worry... He seems to be doing a bit better after talking last night. Hopefully he can stay motivated long enough to make some changes.

Spoiler:
I can't think of anything better to add than what Janet and Allen have already offered. Hope he finds something to keep him preoccupied and feeling like he is contributing something... that's usually what works for me.

Also, hope your work situation improves too. :)

You are correct. I have been really focused on my own bakery goods and making sure they are the best they can be. But I still like pie. I am just so busy. I will try to stop in soon. Perhaps later tonight when my friends leave for the evening. I have some things on my mind.

How is it that my brother and I could POSSIBLY come from the same genes & environment? We are such total opposites that's it's damn frustrating at times.

For instance, today I posted some lyrics from John Lennon's Imagine on my Facebook page since it's his 70th birthday.

This is what he posted in response:

Quote:
keep dreamin' then come talk to me in 10 more years when you're 47, then 10 more when you're filing for social security, if that still exists (only in a dream). Make it happen or shut up

He's a die-hard, "FOX News are the only ones telling the truth/Tea party members are too liberal" conservative, so I then commented back that I posted it because it's Lennon's birthday.

He then commented that if "(Lennon) wasn't such a damn hippie, he might still be alive today". Seriously, this pissed me off so much I did something I almost never do. I deleted his comment.

*sigh*

The hell? Did he have his idealism surgically removed or something?

Is he at least a decent person ignoring politics?

EDIT: Oh, yeah, probably not the place to be talking about this sort of thing. So, uh, have some optimism. Rest in peace, Paul.

Psst, John.

I hate that song, but I'd never post that on somebody's FB. People just don't have consideration. Even if John's a damn hippie, he's a damn philistine.

I am sorry to hear that.

I have heard of so many situations where individuals express the same kind of disbelief over the bonds of blood producing such wildly different people. I share that sentiment, so you have my sympathy. I am familiar with the kind of frustration you mention.

Anyone else get those survival horror zombie movie dreams or is it just me. Seriously it seems to be a recurring theme with me I have them once every few months but it always involves me in some sort of survival horrorish like zombie movie. Course with all dreams it never makes much sense but it's annoying for me, I always wake up half not sure the dream is over.

Zombie

To dream that you are attacked by zombies, indicate that you are feeling overwhelmed by forces beyond your control. You are under tremendous stress in your waking life. Alternatively, the dream represents your fears of being helpless and overpowered.

Thanks guys. Somewhere along the line, my brother lost all idealism in the world, and looks out for only himself. Point of fact, he just moved back into my parents house (with his 180 lb Bull Mastiff mix) and I don't have the guts to ask if he's even offered to pay rent because I think I know the answer.

On a side note, I'm watching Law & Order: UK on BBC America right now. Starring Martha Jones from Dr. Who and Lee Adama from Battlestar Galactica. Awwwwesooooome

~grumbles and gets angrier by the minute~ Someone took my older TV that played DVDs and Video tapes. It was one of two people and I will be having a talk with one of them tomorrow. ~eyes narrow~ I hope it was not him. But if it wasn't him, then another one of my friend's will be faced with a choice. Loose me as a friend or loose my former room mate as a friend if that former room mate took the TV.

I do! I've come to realize that zombies are my symbol of unrelenting stress. When I'm most worried about something, I have those kinds of dreams. Of course, sometimes it's just eating pizza right before bed or letting my legs get too warm...but usually it's stress.

Frankly, zombies are the only horror creatures that can actually scare me...but at the same time, I'm horribly fascinated by zombie films and video games.

*blink*

Morning!

+1 on zombies as stress dreams, Paris. I always end up in a corner of a warehouse shotgunning hordes of them whenever my stress level ramps up. But that's why I love those little rots so much. Ghosts don't scare me, vampires make me laugh (especially the sparkly ones), but a horde of shambling animated hungry dead? *shudder*

Speaking of our favorite undead, >THIS< is coming on Halloween night! One of the best zombie graphic novels of recent years ... God(dess) bless AMC!

So, am I the only one here to actively pursue those types of dreams? Not zombies specifically, but nightmares.

Dreams fascinate me, not for interpretive reasons, but for their surreal nature and the raw emotions they bring. Whether that emotion be love, hope, fear, anger or whatever it is usually far more 'pure' than the mix of emotions we normally have day by day.

I love horror movie and books. But they're just entertainment and I know that it's made up. Dreams can seem 'real' and in them I can experience things that just aren't possible normally.

I know. I've been told more than once that I'm 'f$+!ing weird'.

The ironic part is that I rarely remember my dreams. :-/
