Amon accepts the upload. After studying it for a moment, he rattles off a few questions, "What kind of satellite cover do you have on this planet? Can we get long range photography for their base layout? Thermal scans for a head count? Sonar scans for underground structures? If not, are there any ships in orbit that can scan for us?"
Looking at the map provided, is there cover around the location or are we going in where we can be seen from a distance?

The Jedi Council |

Va'naa gives Amon a long, cool look. "Boy," she says patiently. "This is Dantooine. We don't have your fancy Coruscanti technology around here. I've given you every scrap of information I have. Besides, even if we DID have that technology, it could take hours before we got that information. Time, I believe, is of the essence."
She turns back towards the others. "My airspeeder is the fastest in Brhoomihg." A few touches at the pad on her desk, and the datapads light up with another upload. "There are the control codes. I'd appreciate it if you got it back in one piece. A landspeeder couldn't get you to where the homing device went out. You can pick it up in the garage next door."
Sho, you manage to zoom the map in enough to see that the red dot that indicates the threat is situated several hundred meters up the side of a canyon where the steppes give way to craggy peaks.

Amon Goethe |
Amon conspicuously runs a hand through his graying hair, "Well, tell you what, Va'naa. I don't care if this is Dantooine or an Outer Rim mining rig with no atmo, manners are manners. Last time I checked, there wasn't a line of volunteers going out the door, so you can bet your tchun and tchin that keeping some perspective will go a long way towards an amiable working relationship."
After a moment, he smiles and gives a slight bow from the waist, "But enough of that. The use of your airspeeder is most appreciated and will undoubtedly be of great use on our mission. Does it have any armament?"

The Jedi Council |

Va'naa rubs her forehead with a sigh. "I don't mean to be impolite. I'm stretched very thin, and there's only so much I can do with a group of farmers and traders armed with rifles. I appreciate your help, gentlemen, and if you scratch our backs, I'll see to it you're rewarded. As for armament, no. It's mostly used to bring suspects in after the militia has already dealt with them. If there are any ground-to-air defenses out in the hills, I suggest you put your most skilled pilot behind the controls."
The airspeeder in the garage is painted a dun color, and rests long and sleek in its berth. It seems to be large enough to fit eight people comfortably, and although it isn't the newest piece of hardware, it has clearly been lovingly tended.

Kol DyThrand |

Kol quickly checks out the airspeeder, making sure it was properly fuelled and serviced, and tossed an extra couple of 20 liter water cans in the trunk. He hopped into the pilots seat, flipped a couple of switches and the engines spooled up to speed. With everyone aboard, he lifted off.
With the accelleration pushing everyone into their seats, Kol called back over his shoulder; "Which way again?"

Kol DyThrand |

Kol gets that sour expression on his face.
"Oh joy. My navigator is a comedian."
Putting the airspeeder in a tight 3g turn, he continued: "Might I suggest, sirs, that we at least look like we know what we're doing, before our new boss takes her airspeeder back?"

IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT!
This is very hard to have to do, considering how much I've prepared for this and how much I've enjoyed writing and reading for you gentlemen, but I have to put the First Holocron on indefinite hold. Not long ago, my mother suffered a medical complication and had to be taken to the hospital, and now that she's back home, taking care of her is a full-time job with mandatory overtime. Between her, the house, the yard and the animals, I have no time. I have so few moments to myself in the day that I can barely even manage to post in the PBP game I'm PLAYING, let alone continue writing new material and drawing new maps for the one I'm RUNNING.
I am very sorry to have to cut the game off so soon, before you even got into your first fight. Rest assured, it has nothing to do with you gentlemen--you are exemplary roleplayers and have been fantastic to play with. I hope time and circumstance conspire to allow us to play together again.
The Force will be with you, always.

Dycabaska |

Dude, that's a hard situation you have there. Keep your head and remember to take time for yourself. You're no good to anyone if you burn out.
Let us know when you feel like you've got some time, maybe we'll throw together a game for you.
EDIT: Or would you feel better about playing in a Star Wars game?
