Santanders flames don't seem to harm the ghost at all.
Naubos cries out in pain and bliss as more ectoplasm pours into him, and then his arm is changing, becoming a long purple tentacle! "The staff will be mine, slay them all!" he cries out and his tentacle lashes out at Vernal!
Vernal manages to deflect the attack, just barely. Naubos also weaves magic towards Kevaras.
"You can handle one ghost, right Corpus? I'll go deal with that fool." Ovid ducks away from the ghost and runs back to the entrance. One kick to get the ghost out of the way, then he loops the end of his spear behind the traitorous drow's knee, causing him to stumble forward.
"I knew I should have stabbed him." Malize mutters.
"Don't fret, sweeting, we can do it now," comforts her twin.
"Yessss." She replies with a grin.
"Never trust a human that that can't fight for themselves."

The starghost claws deeply into Ovid, leaving wounds on both his body and mind, but his spear lashes out, wounding the ghost and Naubos both, and yanking the former drow mage closer.
Corpus attack doesn't strike anything that seems to hurt his foe.
Kevaras turns to address his former employer.
"Rightsizing us, eh? Not if we rightsize you first!"
He hurls a his dagger at Naubos.

Kevaras' dagger misses Naubos, flying harmlessly into the room that you all came from.
Ghosts then swarm. One of the star ghosts moves in and attack Kevaras.
It's claw misses. Another ghost ducks past Keveras to attack him from the side and aid it's ally.
Both the Paladin and the drow horribly miss, and then the other star ghost attacks Corpus with it's claws.
The star ghost strokes Corpus, it's claws sinking into his flesh and mind.
Distracted by Naubos' unexpected method of betrayal, Vernal attempts to finish off one job at a time, displaying an unusual level of concentration for him. The effort is too much, and he misses.
Malize attempts to make light of the situation, so to speak.
Even as Naubos' skin glows with darkfire, the magic missile slams into him. He takes the blow, steps back, and his tentacle arm lashes at Ovid.
However, the agile monk is able to avoid the grab.
Ovid dashes forward and stabs at Naubos, looking for any openings.
Ovid uses his own dodge to spur into an attack. He stabs deeply into Naubos and moves the drow creature on the end of his spear.
Using Duel Strike Corpus attacks start ghost 3 with his battle axe and follows up with a chop to the regular ghost 2 with his hand axe.

Kevaras turns to smack Ghost 2.
The paladin equips his shield.

The two drow attack in a flurry of blows. Star 3 is injured and Ghost 2 is badly hurt, it's ectoplasm having holes ripped into it. Then the ghosts strike back. Ghost 2 drifts slightly, so that both itself and Star 2 can attack the paladin.
In a dazzling display of poor execution, the two ghosts show why they are already dead as the paladin is not struck by anything at all.
Vernal looks with sad distaste at the shell of Naubos.
"Pitiful. Ovid, put him out of his misery."
Ovid snaps a quick kick at Naubos after Vernal's command.
However, the attack fails to score. The other Star Ghost attacks Corpus.
"First you were dull, now you're revolting." Malize sneers.
Naubos cries out. "No, the staff will be mine!" His arm lashes out at Malize.
But, once more, the arm misses, even as Naubos tries to throw off the spell effects. He manages to do so, and then falls over.
"Just be quiet and die with some dignity." Ovid adjusts his grip and drives his spear into Naubos' chest.
Malize can't resist laughing at Naubos.
"Oh, how pathetic!"

The weapon master misses badly.
Recognising his goddess' favour in the fight against the loathsome undead, the paladin acts as her weapon against Star 2.

Kevaras tears the ghost up, nearly slaying it in one blow! It lashes back out at him, desperately.
Repelled by the mess of ex-drow at his feet, Vernal strikes wrinkles his nose and strikes.
"Do we have to do everything for you? You can't even die properly."
Vernal coldly stabs Naubos who cries out, but does not give up his hold on life yet. The other star ghost ignores the pain of divine burns at it attacks Corpus. The divine stanction does weaken it's grip on it's unlife though.
"Agh!Just die, you disgusting worm!"
The double volley of magical missiles slam into Naubos and he slips into death. As he dies, the ghosts scream and vanish as well, leaving the ancient vault free of foes.
"Don't get a man to do a woman's job." Malize comments archly.
She takes one of the healing potions.
"Hobgoblin, don't break that staff." she adds sharply.
"Well, what does it do?" Vernal looks vaguely at the staff and at the gold with considerably more interest. "Bribe money. How nice of him."
"I'll go get my dagger."
