Awards always mean very little in the big scheme of things, but the Globes especially are voted on by just 80 people who are all foreign reporters working in Hollywood. How the HFP got such a "respected" award for their organization I'll never know.

Wow... a lot of that looks like they spent 15 minutes with Photoshop.
Just as members of the US' political parties dislike what radicals have done, Palestinians are conflicted about the actions of Hamas. However, we don't fear the radicals coming to kill us.
Don't let these dogmatic idiots make you hate Palestinians. We don't want another Japanese containment camp scenario.

Oddly enough, the territory with the largest population of Japanese-Americans as well as the one where the attack took place, Hawaii, never suffered from relocation and internment. Then again, it would have been hard to relocate a third of the population, not to mention bad for the economy.

Yeah, no way they could do that politically in Hawaii; too many Hawaiians would protest the removal of their neighbours. Plus, in the continental US they were much more isolated from other Americans.

I try to avoid talentless hacks....
so many things could go on the end of that to start a flame war.

Thanks for controlling yourself.

I suppose my mind doesn't work in the proper way to understand how hacking game designers' web sites supports the Palestinian cause. Seems that those 1337 skillz would better serve hacking Israeli sites, if that was truly their cause. Then again, it could just be a smokescreen...
Dumbass punks with low-class downloadable hackwarez just crawl for vulnerable sites and nail them--then pat themselves on the back.
People with websites need to keep their apps up to date and it takes vigilance.

Yeah, it's not like we actually care about his web site or had even heard of it until this blew up (figuratively speaking). Actually, we don't even care about SKR himself.

I've never met him, but we've had brief conversations on other boards. He seemed like a nice smart guy to me, and TSR/WotC & Paizo employees seem to think highly of him. He's had significant roles as developer & writer for many PnP D&D products, and he had some involvement with either the Black Isle or Bioware Faerun games.
He has a lot of great free D&D stuff on his site too.
Edit: SKR = Sean K Reynolds

I mean, of all the targets on the interwebs...man what.
I doubt it. Whomever he pays for webhosting was probably just slack in staying up with patches and updates. The script-kiddies have software that probes blocks of IP addresses for known vulnerabilities; when they find one, they have software to hack it. It's all freely available idiot-proof GUI hack-in-a-box software; if you can navigate a Windows web browser, you can run this stuff... there's very little skill involved anymore.
They probably hacked it just for sh*ts-&-giggles, but they often get "paid" to hack sites to install scripts to autoinstall trojan plugins and other malware.

So back to speculating why SKR was their target. They're jealous because of his girlfriend?
Whoever Sarah Knight-Red is, I think her site was hacked by the DoM people.

In my opinion, the converst to your cause that you would earn by hacking a site like that is not worth the exponetially larger group of people tht you will upset and potentiay turn against your cause by your same action. It does not seem like a sound strategy to me.
Unless of course you're assuming that they're already against you anyway if they're not for you at this juncture. And maybe the point is more to plant a flag of defiance on a Western Hill than win any new friends particularly among the "heathen".
