Drink three 2 ltr Mt. Dews, then pop in the entire LoTR trilogy. You won't be bored anymore. ;)
Got no soda and I'm waiting on the Extended editions of LOTR to hit blu ray before buying the series.

Well hell you are bored then. ;)

Don't worry--I took care of your business while you were away. Lynora offered to giveaway her Tiamat after all, and Moorluck (who'd meanwhile gotten one) said you had seconds on it, but I said you told me you didn't want it anymore so, so Lynora gave it to me.

Thanks, I much appreciate it. I have never really been a miniature collector though. Just books. Lots of them.

So I say away from said forums with regret/
Though I must to know why my item yon judges did reject/
And eagerly cast my lot upon the monsters they did accept

Uh-oh. I won't mention the uber-rare Complete Guide to Tiamat it came with, then. Cuz then I'd be a real dick.

There's wisdom underneath all that hair.

I need to make with the voting, myself.

I signed off after my last post, because we ended up going to a Japanese steakhouse for dinner. I see you've turned in for the night, so I'll catch you tomorrow.

Oh, I hate to say it, but I'm surprised that people would push the promotion of their item to the point of risking disqualification. There was at least one thread about it.

Well, if I just vanished from the boards, I doubt that anyone would notice, other than a vague feeling that a minor jackass might have sloughed off somewhere along the way. ;)

But, at the start of next week, I'm leaving the U.S. of A. for at least the next 3 months, and probably quite a bit longer. I have no idea if I'm going to have much time for posting on this message board, so I may also disappear for a similar amount of time from here. Or I may be back in a week. Who knows.

Anyhoo, I'm heading over to live in Minsk, Belarus. My lady, Natasha, is a Russian, and she's got relatives in Belarus. I've been there twice already, I speak Russian moderately well, I like the country (it's probably a bit cold for a lot of people, but I like cold), and I know a few people over there from my previous visits, besides the relatives of the soon-to-be-Mrs.-Bean.

Since I can do my freelance travel writing online from anywhere in the world, I'm going somewhere that 1. I like, and 2. it's cheap enough for me to live decently. I'm sick of hand-to-mouth in the Second Great Depression here, and so, I'm migrating to cheaper pastures for a while, so that I can save up my earnings rather than see them evaporate into bills and groceries in a couple of seconds, and return with a bit more money in my purse so that I fix stuff that needs fixing, buy stuff that needs buying, and maybe have a bit left over in case of emergencies.

I've got my visa, all the paperwork I need to apply for a residence permit for longer-term stay, a good apartment lined up, a map of Chernobyl fallout so I know what areas of the country to stay away from, some moola, a good laptop to do my work on, and my airplane tickets purchased and ready to go.

So, come Monday morning -- Clan Bean (all 2 of us so far ;)!) is off on an adventure! :)

But, will it continue to be topped?

You should make it "alive". It can have a calendar that advances. More feats. Power creep will set in, and then...

Wait, where was I going with this?

Note: The setting is cool.

So, TAD, are you going to be setting up a website for your setting? Sounds very high magic and high civilization. It his the setting you've been running your own games in?

Wonderings: with no extinction events, to what extent would magic evolve as a coping strategy for living with these massive life forms?

Are there magical monsters/creatures in this setting or just the prehistoric creatures? Also, if evolution was not furthered by an extinction event, are the sentient races outsiders that have been brought to this planet or are you going for a divine scenario for them?
