one thing I never understood, and I know it it just me, watching sports on TV. I can get into it I guess if others are with me. But just watching any sport when it is not live, I fall asleep.

See for me it's the exact opposite. If I'm there live I am so distracted by everything else that is going on around me that I fail to watch the game. I'm too busy watching everyone else watch the game. It might have to do with a family tendency towards ADHD, but I also like to watch how people interact because it makes for more belivable NPCs and characters.

Excellent idea.

Another thing is to keep a work diary. Basically include what you do right AND wrong as well as everything your supervisors say to you. Having some interspersed minor "wrongs" of yours wll make it apparent to a reader (such as a possible arbitrator...) that you write everything down and don't just make stuff up. Anything damning that your employers then state would carry great weight if placed in the book.
Well, good luck.

I find this completely remarkable.

I was following a thread on another site and did not enter into the discussion because I thought it would be too difficult to remain polite. However, there was one poster who continued to post in a calm manner, asking for explanations, and being civil despite being given a very hard time over and over by the posters.

So, I posted a joke, directed at the poster as follows:

Quote:

@ <omitted>

You do realize that I have secretly orchestrated all these responses to your posts for the sole enjoyment of seeing how long your patience will last, don't you?

Sorry, but I have to entertain myself in some manner.

That is the entirety of the post.

I made it as a joke because he was being so remarkably patient. Someone reported it and it was not only deleted but I was suspended.

The reason?

Forum disruption for a single post. I went looking through other threads and found scores of instances far worse. But, they decided to both delete my post and suspend me.

Does this seem kind of drastic to you?

Goodnight bookmark post.

And how. Can you imagine how fast that would empty the Paizo threads?

Sorry my PbPers. Hopefully I can post more in the PM!

Iiiiiiinteresting. Any available linkage?
Try this.

Apocalypse Island. So, that's where Survivor is going next. :P

WHAT!?!??!?!?? *sputters* Was this on the Netflix site?

And now I'm caught up as well. Trying to debate if I can really work from home instead of manuevering a 90 minute drive that should really be a third of that.

<grumbles about Netflix>

The Exchange

Good Morning and going out in the cold rain to work post, probably be getting off early though.

Scarab Sages

Well, I still feel like poop (damn cold), but at least I didn't get picked for a jury yesterday. It was close though. I was like two people away from being interviewed for a trial they were saying would take like 5-6 weeks - Some kind of alleged real estate fraud.

Damn snow showers. Not fun when you're riding your bike to work. I can deal with no snow, fairly heavy snow, but not something between liquid and solid. *sigh*

Bright morn, btw.

What goes on in the bathroom should remain in the bathroom. :P

Mornin'! I decided to work from home today. How much will get done will remain to be seen, but why waste 3 to 4 hours driving? I should be so fortunate I can telecommunicate in such weather.

Good morning. :)

One of my neighbors is being really sweet and snowblowing my driveway because I can't really shovel because of my asthma. I tried a few times last year and ended up having to go to urgent care every time. Cold is one of my triggers.

Urizen: I heard the Netflix announcement on the news.

As I was pulling up to my house after being stuck in traffic coming home last night, my next door neighbor was kind enough to use his snowblower beast to clear out my driveway, to which I thanked him profusely. This morning, it was all for naught. I. hate. shoveling.

And to top it off, six discs that were supposed to arrive on the 22nd of December never did. On Monday, I finally caved in and said they were missing and asked them to be reshipped. I normally never had problems with it in the past, but I reckon they didn't like the fact that six were missing simultaneously. I've received two replacements thus far, but then they decide to shut down my account by placing it on hold. Grrr.

I used to have two different memberships; one with a local rental store to get the newest releases on the day of issuance and Netflix for the more obscure ones. When my lady got laid off in '08, I had to make a choice and dropped the store rental membership. I didn't get my newest releases as quick as I liked, but it saved me on gas mileage at the least.

Now this. May push me to use those Red Box vending machine thingies.

You need to call and complain. When they screw up and you call in to complain, they always do something to sweeten the sour, in my experience. Dang, six disks at once? You also need to contact your postmaster.

Moring all. Slow night, did you guys get sucked into he pet shop?

David Fryer wrote:

I get pulled in, but I tend to tread the waters lightly. I'm not here to sway opinions. They're like pieholes. People are going to (not) believe what they want and frankly, I can live with it as long as it doesn't affect RL.

How's your gaming project going?

Yeah, they usually do as you described. I've been a member since 05 and this is the first that I've finally gotten placed on hold. I don't doubt it's a postal issue as I've seen my mail get mixed up with others having the same numerical address from a community on the opposite side of the main state route we live off from. Whether they want to do the neighborly thing and toss it back in the mail is another story. *shrugs*

If I have time, I'll badger them today. Otherwise, I'll have to call them on Saturday when not conflicted with actually working from home and having the patience to be on the phone. Have I mention I loathe being on the phone? :D

Not as well as I had liked. I got sucked into playing Force Unleashed yesterday, I am on the last level now. I also watched the football game last night instead of working on it then. I guess I should pray charater creation takes a while.

You mean you've almost completed the game? LOL I haven't even started. Video games are not one of my usual forte until I actually play 'em. I have two other Star Wars games I need to break out of the package as well as some monster / alien bowling game.

And yeah, watching the BCS title game took the majority of my evening.

Cold is one of the triggers? Am I correct in that you live in Michigan (or somewhere 'round there)? Yikes!

At least she's not in the upper peninsula. That'd be double yikes!

I lived in the UP for a few years as a child. Winter here in southeast Michigan is at least considerably milder than that. :)

Has anyone else trid Zaaschila hot sauces? I just tried their Chile Habanero sauce and it is amazing. Lots of flavor, enough heat to set my mouth tingling, but not so much that it prevents me from tsting my food, nice orange color, the works. If you like hot sace and you ghaven't tried it, you should.

Somewhere between Ann Arbor and Detroit Metro, I imagine?

I have to admit that I have never branched out beyond Tabasco when it comes to hot sauce. And in spite of liking spicy food it took me a long time to warm up to that after an unpleasant experience when I was younger. One of the problems with being 'one of the guys' is the tendency to get sucked into doing stupid guy stuff, like eat large quantities of straight tabasco on a dare. At least I didn't puke like the other guy did. :p

I have an uncle that lives in Ypsilanti, which isn't that far off.

I got some Habanero Paste that I use from The Chilli Factory (who actually produce near where I live). I also have their Dragon's Blood Sauce, but it is not as nice (or as Hot) as I expected and I think next time I'll just go back to the Turbo Supercharge.

And I tend to laugh at people who try to tell me that Jalapenos are "really really hot"! :D

I've heard of that before. The first time I heard it, I was a bit incredulous, but then I read up on it.

...Oh. You're in Ohio? And yeah, Ypsi is just east of here. The towns kinda blend a bit and there is much going back and forth between them. Ypsi is more affordable to live in, but the schools are better in Ann Arbor. :)

Jalapenos have NOTHING on Haberneros. It's like pitting mild versus atomic.
