no really, maybe it is because of the army haircut, as a german growing up in the Fulda Gap i have seen countless American Soldiers but not that many other Americans (beside my US vacation of course) and I think I could have identified you as US soldier out of a football stadium full of people from all over the world :-)
This is why military grooming standards are so troublesome. Makes you a huge target when traveling. :(
