Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Not quite from the Bhagavad Gita:

'If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the mighty one.

Now I am become Dungeon Master, the creator of worlds.'

Spoiler:

Today in a very special edition of Golarion Cribs and Pimp My Familiar ...

Spoiler:

Karzoug would like to remind you, 'don't hate player ... don't hate the game. Don't even hate the BBEG ... hate the in your face meta magic feats ramped up by the Critical Hit deck fool ! I own your core class a$$ !'

As I said before: I really like the cover. Great job!

Poor Runelord...

Thinking he's the one in charge. The Blue is behind the throne for a reason... :-)

I'm sure it's great, which is why I get this:

I am not the biggest WR's fan, but I really like that pic.

Extra extra bonus points to Baron AH for the Gita reference, although, I would have said GameMaster. You can still add to your total if you know what "lila" is.

PS I am greedy for more regular previews like this.

Thank you Yoda, now I can finally see the outstanding picture. You tech-fu is greater than mine.

And that blue isn't the power behind the throne, it is COWERING behind it.

The link is broken, I'm seeing no picture on the blog or the product page.

Ooh... Karzoug looks really mean there! Even a bold, fearless Chelaxian dwarf like myself cannot help feeling a strange shiver running down his spine...

I think it's a great cover for GameMastery Guide, and another "hit" for WAR! :)

Thanks oh Wiki master!

Wow that picture is awesome!

Also, we now have a WAR version of every Chromatic dragon bar green but steve prescott covered that on Pathfinder #15!

So woo! Well-illustrated dragons!

It looks great!

Yeah; that blue dragon is absolutely Karzoug's pet. There's enough fantasy nations in the world where the dragon's the secret ruler behind the throne, after all, and since we built Runelords (and brought in Karzoug) specifically to give an Adventure Path a human big-bad-end-guy, Karazoug's not going to hang around with any dragon that isn't afraid of him. ;-)

Now you know how puny your tiny little Empire of Cheliax is compared to the might of Thassilon.

My dear Mairkurion, if I said 'GameMaster' then I would not be showing my age and my black belt in insufferable grognard.

And Lila is easy; Lila = Paizo (at least in the literal sense).

Spoiler:
There's also this girl named Leila I know which this would apply to ...

Ah, well, I figure my insufferability is already on sufficient display. And besides, saying GameMaster lets you connect product name to Gita to Paizo: Krishna being more obviously a GameMaster [LilaMaster] than a Dungeon Master...OTOH, maybe I'm just choosing to show a different side of my insufferability.

Well, it's just a *tiny* shiver, mind you -- nothing to compare to the feeling of being tied to the rack and tort... questioned by our Beloved, Respected Inquisition, or the feeling of a Hellknight mailed fist grabbing your shoulder! Er, not that I have experienced those feelings, because I'm a lawful, obedient citizen who only exists to serve his Empire according to the will of our Blessed Majestrix and the Almighty Asmodeus!

Thassilon? Bah! We're the true heirs of the Azlanti bloodline, and Thassilon was just a minor backwater hamlet compared to us! ;P

For such a mighty empire, you seem to have remarkably fragile rulers. How many is it you've gone through in the past few decades? Half a dozen now, is it?

And I am amused by the response of Cheliax to events in Andoran, Molthune, Galt, and Sargava.
Even with the powers of hell supposedly at your nation's beck and call, and otherworldly allies in Nidal, Cheliax has simply let their provinces go. What are your rulers? A group of charitable, do-gooder, archons?

Edit:
My pardon. The ruler of Cheliax does actually feature on the cover of the Gamemastery Guide. She appears to have been transmuted into a more appropriate form, and to be hanging in a cage to the left of the throne of my colleague, the Runelord of Greed.

;)

And none died by anything than "terminal inability to prevent assassination by successor". No non-chelaxian ever defeated a Thrune ruler.

Obviously, only a Thrune ruler can kill a Thrune ruler, what with having Hell at their beck and call and all that.

That from someone whose country was ruled by a bunch of sleeping beauties. Before it all went to hell.

And that's the difference: Thassalion went straight to hell. But Hell went to Cheliax...
