August PDFs here.. except Core obviously

Yeah the disappointing bit on mine is:
1. I have an email about the Core Book only (so no DLs of other products)
2. "August 11 via USPS Priority Mail, estimated 6 to 10 business days in transit." That doesn't add up to 'trying to get it to me on the 14th'. It means I should get it 21st to 27th, as the 21st is a Friday I guarantee it won't be before the 24th :-(

Oh well I will be spamming the server come 5am on the 14th (New Zealand time) ;-)

EDIT: or am I whining about nothing 'cos they all say the 11th no matter when they are shipping? Nothing I can do about it anyway... can't wait and I don't mean to sound negative. The fact they are sending it early at all to those of us far away is a real nice touch.. YAY PAIZO :-)

I'd just settle for my AP pdf. Sniff, sniff.

...ok, the BEST part about waiting for my Paizo order is that it's made me forget about waiting for Nicolas Logue's Razor Coast!

A few things:

• All of the emails say the 11th, as that is the last date that any package is expected to ship. Most packages will ship long before that date.

• If you got confirmation on only part of your order, this is because we split your order into more than one box to save you on shipping fees. In many cases, this involved international priority shipments that would have been so large that they would have been weight-based instead of flat-rate; in that circumstance, splitting packages could have easily saved folks $30-40 in shipping fees. The second part of the order should not be far behind.

To understand the next three points, you need to have read my post about the automatic and manual queues.

• If you got your e-mail and PDFs on Tuesday, you were almost certainly in the automatic queue, and your package (will be/has already been) dropped into the post on the appropriate day for your destination.

• If you got your e-mail anytime after Tuesday, you were in the manual queue, and we've reached the correct date for your package to go. It was posted before you got the e-mail.

• If you haven't got your e-mail yet, you're in the manual queue, and we'll ship your package on the appropriate day.

• I left out one reason why folks would be in the manual queue. International packages over 4 pounds—meaning every international package containing the RPG—have to go through the manual queue, because the USPS requires a special customs form that we can only partially automate.

Vic, if it were possible I´d go to a dodgy Hungarian clinic and have your babies. I am now going to assume that my box is on it´s way to Europe and stop pressing F5 on my gmail.

Thanks man!

Thanks, as I said in my edit...I should stop whining!

The fact you are even attempting to get them to us on time is a great thing, I have never had that happen before and on such a big order it must be a PitA so big thanks! And I mean big, that is QUALITY customer service... and a free PDF as well! YAY!

I guessed the reason why it was in three packages, I just didn't realise it was until I checked after getting the email, I was kinda hoping for one big super fast delivered box.

So there are no complaints here, just disappointed that I won't get one big box sent @ hyper speed for 45 bucks, not your fault. I should have just deleted my original post 'cos it does sound excessively negative.

Thanks again for replying and looking forward to getting the books whenever I do, must stop being a fan boi whiner and instead be a positive admirer :-)

Lisa and I are heading to the warehouse now, since the regular staff are reaching their end of day. Lisa picks the product, I tape up the boxes and ship them.

Most CEOs whose companies had just sold out of their entire initial print of their flagship product would view it as time to pop the champagne and kick back. Paizo's goes into the warehouse to pack more boxes.

Hm weird, now my Core Rulebook is shipping on its own and the rest of the stuff (PF #25, Cheliax, Map Folio, Module and Town Map Pack) are still pending. I thought those would all ship together to save on shipping costs?

As was mentioned in another post by Vic, if your shipment was split, it was to save you money, because of how the USPS handles packages. If it goes over a certain weight and especially it seems if it's travelling far enough, they change the rates. Check thru the various posts on the Core Rulebook, you'll find Vic's comments :)

Sorry, I mean when nor where.By the way, no problem. If you have sent the rpg only in one shipment for saving us some money, great. It´s only that your products are so high quality that I am a little anxious to read and get them. Great job as ever.

It also explains why the "we try to get those books to you by Aug 13th" doesn't really work out (If I'm lucky, I'll get the book early the week after).

I'd say it would only be appropriate to compensate those poor guys who will probably have to wait long, agonising days for their hardcover by giving them early access to the PDF, but I'd just be jonesing for my fix.

Maybe if we promise not to say anything? You know you can trust us! You trust those reviewers, and we're as nice as those.

Uhm, I was kidding. But, seriously, this is awesome. Darn USPS to Heck for delaying my order! Darn them to Heck, I say!

Still nothing for me :( RPG, Cheliax companion, CoT #1 and Map folio are still pending and pending and pending ...

(edit) missed one page in this thread. I guess I'm in the manual queue, then - all hope is not lost ;).

Just to clarify: This is in no way intended to diminish the efforts of Paizo or its employees, who I'm sure are doing a heck of a job and lots of overtime just to get the whole shipping crazyness done. I just wish the PDFs and book were here sooner, that's all. In the second I get my shipping e-mail, I will probably switch from Automated Whining Mode (tm) to Supercharged Glee. Or something.

We are trying to get the Pathfinder RPG shipments out first. So if your shipment got split into two, we shipped the one with the Pathfinder RPG on it first and will go back sometime later to ship the rest. But we wanted to make sure that people at least got their Pathfinder RPG shipments as close to on time as we could.

I got the email a while back saying my card would be charged, but I still don't have any beautiful pdf's in my downloads. I want to get my greedy hands on that cheliax book so I can update my list of approved PFS traits and feats.

I checked my account and it just keeps saying pending, same for my bank but it doesn't want to finish and charge me for whatever reason.

If the charge went through (as mine just did last night) does that mean it's shipped from the warehouse? I haven't gotten a new e-mail.

We are going to work very hard to ship all the copies out ASAP—it is a huge task that we are dedicating lots of resources to. The shipping cost may be large, but there is a decent chance that Amazon won't have enough copies to fulfill its orders. Two days ago, the book was up to #94 amongst all books on Amazon. They ordered a bunch from our distributor, but I wonder how many people are going to have a repeat of the 4e core book problem where it took months to get their orders? At least here, you know that you will get your copy pretty darn close to the release date.

First off, I would like to express my thanks to the anonymous person that heard about me losing my job and bought a copy of the core rulebook for me. However, I just realized that the first indication that mine has shipped will be when it shows up in my mail box. I will spend the next week camped out by my mail box pulling my hair out, and I don't have much to spare. What wickedly delightful torture that person has wrought.
