@Hugo: Midsummer's Night Comedy game

PaizoCon General Discussion

Sounds like a fun game...
It sounds like bringing one's own characters is encouraged...
However, another game here at the Con will be my *first* PFS game, meaning I will only have a 1st level PFS character... Advancing him to 4th level (to hit the middle of the range) would be simple enough, AND better complete the character concept*, but what should his wealth/equipment look like?

(yikes! LESS than a week left!)

*

Spoiler:
:Kostan Vastarel
Social-focus Varisian Rogue 1/Cleric 3 of Sivhana (trickery + knowledge domains)
If Traits were allowed (I could substitute 2 traits for the PFS b/g Feat...?), he would have the mystical Birthmark ("natural" holy symbol) of Sivhana (erratically shifting "7 veils") which marked him as connected to Sivhana from birth. I'd also take the non-Core "Harrowed" Feat if that was allowed. Born in Nidal, he was spirited away by extended family when they became too fearful for his safety at the hands of Zon-Kuthon's followers. Grew up further in Galt, but ended up finding his way to the big city of Absalom (and/or wherever the campaign happens).

Yay! there's a thread already :D

This will be a playtest -not a sanctioned PFS- of a Clinton Boomer's adventure soon to be published :D So everybody's free to make their characters or take Boomer's suggestions (listed below).

Once I find out how many players there'll be, I'll set up more standard rules on levels and stats. The level range is 3-5.

Boomer's character recommendations

Spoiler:

Each of the the following three characters represents a customizable chassis upon which to build a quick-start 3rd-level character for use in this adventure: simply add a level of whatever character class you like (don't forget to add the feat!), spend 1,800 gold on whatever you like, choose a Faction from the PFS Organized Play book, and add a second free feat from the Factions Feats section (pages 15-18 of that book).

I was conjecturing that you may currently be in transit toward the Seattle area, and thus unable to respond, only to find a post by you on another thread more recent than his.

So I figured I'd cover my tracks before I looked foolish.

This is gonna be a really, really fun game!

Fun indeed! Well done, Booms!

I work for someone from India and I dated a kiwi so I have a lot of experience trying to puzzle out accents. ^_^ Can't wait. For the record, I like clerics, wizards and related type characters. Studious types.

So far we've got:
Benchak (Me)
N'Wah (Ashton)
Quandry
Sunshine Grrrl

That leaves two others currently unknown.

A Midsummer Night's Comedy of the Merry Jackanapes & and the Orcs, an Adventure by Clinton J. Boomer being run by Hugo "Butterfrog" Solis as a part of PaizoCon.

Us four (and two more, who remain anonymous) got assigned to it as part of the event lottery, and from the sound of it we're all really looking forward to it!

Scarab Sages

Lucky! Damn Hugo, you'll have to let me know how it goes. :)

Silver Crusade

I am. Though, I'm generally kinda shy so it should be interesting. ^_^

Ok, I grabbed the Sneaky Pete stat Block and followed the intructions, should I post him up here? (I'm keeping Sneaky Pete as the name, too)

Ok, so there are at least 4 people in. That makes it at least a 4 level PC. I reccomend grabing Cha and Dex related skills, there will be hack and slash, but the fun concentrates on making fun of your player (in many different ways). It really is :D

Also, in-character is highly encouraged, CLinton made sure of this.

and last, if there are Female PCs, you should get the proper outfit because is gong to get dirtyyyy....oe yeah, down right dirty!

Right. Male character it is. And probably a swishy fighter. Always fun to play.

3.5 or pathfinder rules?

A'ight. High-charisma female PC for me then. :P

Is anyone playing a bard, by chance? I haven't done a bard in, like, forever. I haven't played on in, like, forever, either. :P

Lets go for PF rules, its PaizoCOn after all ;)

Great, I whipped up something close to playable,
though I don't know the "Final" Domain Powers of course :-)

...Anticipation is half the fun!

HUGO, was it as much fun as it sounded like it was going to be?

I think you said on another thread that you haven't DMed much, so were you nervous. I'm guessing that it was a fun group who signed up, so I bet they had a blast.

We want to hear more about it.

Well, there was a little, change, I asked Boomer to run the adventure and he said YES! You'll see videos soon, but I can give you an advance, it was the the MUST. FUN. GAME. EVER!!!

Silver Crusade

I was it in it. God help you watching my fat hiney play but it was the "Best Game Ever". Seriously, I've rarely had that much fun playing and I've been in the hobby for close to 20 years now. My ankle was sadly a slight casualty to the whole fracas, but it was totally worth the limp.

It was a blast, thanks to all players and mister Boomer for a FANTASTIC game!!!!

To Boomer, Hugo, SunshineGrrl, Ben, and everyone else, I just want to say thanks for that game. It was the best game session I did at the Con, by far. And I'm looking forward to doing illustrations for it, too.

Boomer: you, Hugo, and I should find a time when the DMTools chat is free and hash out the details of the art thing. Also, due to some of the gaming chat we had on Saturday night (I think- might've been Sunday), I'm so totally doing an adventure where everyone plays as one of Pestico's "daughters" (the soulbound dolls) in a wacky adventure that I hope to lay out like a story book. I'd love to shoot some ideas at you for that, if you're interested.

Ditto. That was an experience I'll never forget and always strive for from here on out.

That sounds awesome. Keep us posted. ^_^ I wanna hear how that goes.

Good, and glad to have you in our corner! We'll set something up; you're also 111% right that DMTools is probably our best bet. I'll send a CC to you and Daigle (my editor) on anything that Hugo & I discuss and we'll get the ball rolling.

Let's not say too much here, but I'm totally in - kick me an email any time!

Soonish?

There's still a little bit of work that needs to go into it and then a home needs finding, but I assure you it is in the works.

I'd have been sad for you, but seems someone gave the pre-release to the "talent" instead of me. Sure, he's all writing something and stuff...but, well...feh, stupid logic and reason.

So, yeah, no sympathy. :P

*chuckles*

Hugo was cool to meet, too, so nener!

What's this I hear? You left PaizoCon (waiting hours for your flight) and went home, only to be sick with the flu.

Life is not fair.

Well, a small praise to pay for attending.
