Your mostly correct here, however I could do a standard retail product, but it would be a pale shadow, it would have clip art and public domain art, none of the uber extras or maps and not someone like Boomer as its auhtor.

In the end its about a micropress being able to reach or exceed the same level of production quality as Paizo.

Sharoth- Thank you

Gully13- we are glad to have you, for some background its been a roller coaster ride of ups and downs, but over all its moved at the same pace the Heroes of the Jade Oath did.

We need 6 more bronze patrons, or 30 silver patrons or 2 gold patrons, or any crazy combination there of.

Okay so that sounds pretty cool actually. I guess my three main questions would be these:

1) Is there going to be a means to buy this product on a non-patron basis? I mean once you get enough supporters to take the thing to print, will you then cast it out on the open market for all the other folks who never got a chance to sponsor it--or is it the sort of thing where the only folks who get to buy it are the ones that are members of the project?

2) How time critical is this? Is it the sort of thing where I NEED to get in on it right now before the slots fill up--or can I hop in at some point later on in the design process? Funds are a little tight right now, but it's something I'd love to encourage, because it's just a neat idea with good folks involved with it.

3) Say I had a suggestion for the game that isn't probably too big a deal for most folks, but is kind of a "make it or break it" thing for me--that it have at least a nominal setting provided (the sort of thing that's just some broadstrokes about the "official" fantasy world that it belongs to--mostly just a name for the world and some flavor, easy enough to toss for someone who wants to use their own setting instead, but beautiful for someone like me who's a setting completist who wants to get a full setting for his money...so I can say "Hey guys, what say we play ____ tonight!") What level of involvement would a change like that entail? Could any bronze level guy ask for something like that? Would it take a silver? A gold?

Colliseum Morpheuon is at 92%!

Grim Cleave i will have your info in a few, i just wanted to get this out there.

Simplified answers

Yes, (we are a pdf and print on demand company) it will be the exact same cost as a bronze patrons (no sales, no specials, no discounts ever). As a patron you get all the bonus stuff for free (like Paper-Minis, Hi-Res Map Images, and Map packs.)

I would really suggest reading this: “What is Patronage?”

You can hop on right up until the date it is completed but if you want to have input on the design process the earlier the better, as I can’t undo money that is spent.

We have the nominal setting of the realm/plane of dreams and the mini-setting of Coliseum Morpheuon (its own little section). That is pretty damn modular so that it fits in any setting or homebrew unless it is some place that really restricts plane travel AND dreaming. As I said we are very flexible short of using someone else’s IP I don’t foresee a problem.

My rule on make it or break it problems for patrons (and we have never had one) is to work with the patron find out the exact change that needs to be made and change it if at all possible (again this is usually only limited by budget), If it’s a break it situation and the project is not complete you are likely to get a refund (if its outside 60 days from your initial payment paypal fees will not be refunded.)

If any of these answers are unclear we can do a skype conversation if necessary.

Nah. That sounds great actually. I'll keep hovering around here and may actually sign up in a while. It's a new way of doing things and it'd be cool to try it out. Nice that I have some time still to make a decision. Thanks a bunch and good luck with the project.

Coliseum Morpheuon is at 94% to goal.

We need 4 Bronze patrons or 2 silver patrons, or one gold level patron + one Bronze.

Boomer is working on the final round of questions as I write this and we just finished his part of a podcast interview.

95% to goal :)

I have now posted The 5th and Final Part of Boomer's Interview!

Next Week I will post a podcast that he did with Rite Publishing (Unfettered Development #002)

97% to goal

2 bronze patrons would put us there anything higher would put us over!

8 days left to go (We started with 60 days to hit goal so we have only used up 86% of our available time, I am quite happy with where we are right now).

Assuming we hit goal before the deadline all Rite Publishing retail products will be 20% off till August 1st :)

Hey, Folks,

I thought you'd all like to know that the latest instance of Unfettered Development has Steve "Qwilion" Russell talking with Clinton J. Boomer about the development of Coliseum Morpheuon.

You can find Unfettered Development #002 at its home on the Rite Publishing website (here) or via FeedBurner (here), where you can also subscribe to the podcast via your preferred listening venue, including iTunes.

Enjoy!

Liberty's Edge

I am told by Steve Rusell that the Coliseum Morpheum would be a 15-16th level adventure for Pathfinder, the 1st high level adventure for the Pathfinder RPG

And with Clinton J. Boomer involved it would mean some interesting developments.

Clarification its going to be a 16-20th level adventure/minisetting, This choice was made by the majority of the patrons.

tsk tsk tks

my apologies :P
I copied the source incorrectly

We are back at work again, Boomer has posted his intial outline for silver and higher level patrons to review, and gold level patrons have been making suggestions of templates for him to use while we wait for the Pathfinder Bestiary.

Back from GenCon with two copies of the Pathfinder Core Rules - one for each hand!

Running over-the-top-awesome games for Tim Hitchcock, Adam Daigle, their cadre of super-GMs (including Shackletons and a certain Head-Eating Yoda) & many wonderful players of the Pathfinder Society has honed my adventure-fu to a razor edge, and we're moving forward on design, hammering that fluff into gold!

Next step is getting my copy of the Pathfinder Bestiary, which is when the real crunch-work starts!

Again, thank you to everyone involved!

Just thought I would give the nonpatrons an update on Coliseum Morpheuon

One of the really great things that has come along recently is the ENnie award winning Ben Mcfarland (Tales of Zobeck) joined us as a patron and has created the Dreamburning rules (bronze level), a really awesome combination of roleplaying and mechanics, its one of our Eureka Moments.
It really shows you how cool patron contributions can be.

We have Also been Brainstorming (See Wild Speculation) about the Cover Design (Silver Level)that has ranged from the Sandman comic books to God of War. It has been really great as Jason Rainville our lead artist on CM has hoped on the boards and given us a lot of direct input, one of the patrons even found a nice gem for us to use as inspiation from Jason's own Gallery HERE

Boomer recently posted His Npc list (Silver Level with a break down of their CRs and what races, classes, levels these Npcs would be) for the Coliseum Morpheuon, I thought I would post the names that I really enjoyed.

The Khan of Nightmares
The Lady Puzzledeeps, Witch of Stolen Hopes
Auberyon, the Solstice King
The Pasha of Swirling Ashes
Lord Gabriel Le'Chance
Jack of Diamonds
The Dragon of the Ghostdance

I want in. I love Boomer, I love Pathfinder. Two great tastes that taste great together - like chicken and babies.

After playing MARVEL with Booms at Gencon, I now also know he is a madman genius and sick little twistoid. I can't wait to see the magic he works!

Just what does a baby taste like?

Remarkably like chicken actually, though usually more tender. I like em best dipped in peanut butter and chocolate.

Hmm odd when I think "tastes like chicken", I would think mustard and honey as sauces of choice.

Boy, the Coliseum patrons made a popular choice.

There's a lot of interest in the higher levels.

See Here

Just the niche that Paizo does not normally cater too, which for patronage projects is a boon. Also because we can spend more time playtesting than a month to month release like the AP can we are better suited for High Level, along with not being as limited by page count.

update some of the initial sketches are in and they are looking really good, soon as I have a finished piece I will share it.

Dream Theft by Jason Rainville; our first piece of artwork check it out.

I like it!

By the way we got the Cover Image for this product and it is everything I wanted it to be. Jason Rainville did one hell of a job.
