Mort just shakes his head as the others whine about carrying around treasure. "Pirates gotta learn ta carry around loot right?" He nods to Chef to grab the other end while the others carry the meat and other found items.

"Sooner we get back the sooner we get to making the real coin."

Yvonne so is that a no on the healing/channeling then?

Your not in current danger, so just moving along.

With a bit of work and hauling, drake meat and statue are collected and carted back to Hartha's. She's very happy to have access to her woods back, and smiles as listens to the story.

I'll have it done for you in a day or two.

She says as she returns to work.

I'll send a runner to your captain to know where she wants me to send it.

After heading back to the inn, the team spots the captain and the quartermaster pouring over plans... several x's through various items indicate that the rest of the crew has been hard at work collecting what's needed.

Iulia spots the team and waves them over.

I hope you being back means you have good news on the new mast head?

Mort drops his end of the statue with a thud, his clothes and legs all bloodied. Blood smeared across his forehead from wiping away sweat. A foul look across his face. "Ya, woman said she'd have it done in a day or two, thanks to us sheddin' some extra blood for her and her wood supply."

Mort sits down heavily, pretty exhausted and still heartily wounded. "Gotta beer or three handy? I need some liquid to help replace some of this lost blood. Chef here says he's makin' roasted Drake or bisque or somethin that should be good fer sup."

To be honest I'm not 100% sure what we ended up paying for the work to be done out of the 250g we got.

Mort nods as Lorqinor takes the axe "You don't need lessons on how ta use that do ya? I always thought Elves were 'anti-axe'. More the bow n sword type." He pulls out the other axe and offers it around to the others.

Gold paid doesn't really do anything since I'm gonna give you the chronicle reward, it's more a flavor thing.

The captain nods and whistles.

DOC! WE GOT A BLEEDER!

Soon enough, a Halfling woman appears and shakes Mort's hand.

Name's Doc, Doc Imogene. Let's see if we can't get you patched up.

She set's right to work patching and wrapping up Mort. And does a good job of it to... it's not magical healing, but frankly Mort has felt worse after some magical healing than he does now.

Doc looks over her handywork and nods.

You'll be right as rain by morning. Nothing but blood loss. I can tell by your scars you've had worse. Order's are to go easy on the alcohol, heavy on the bread and soup. You'll feel better for it.

The captain comes over and looks at the bandaged Mort with a grin.

I send you on a shopping trip and you get bloodied near to death. But, you also got me my masthead weeks ahead of schedule.

She moves from grin to broad smile.

Hell, that piece was gonna take the longest, and it looks like we might be able to set sail in a few days thanks to you! So for tonight, sleep, enjoy some ale on me, and be ready in the morning.

Gonna brief time skip here, sorry for lack of interaction.

Night as restful, and the next morning, Iulia directs the crew to follow Anatoly, a rather large Half Orc Man with a smile that matches his tusks, wide and gleeming. Anatoly leads them down to the peer, puts them in a boat, and ships out.

Alright fresh meat, let's get to rowing!

As they row, Anatoly jokes and laughs the whole way. Soon enough, they come into a beautiful cove, and there the Magpie Princess lays moored. As the come aside the ship, Anatoly calls up.

RIGGER ANATOLY ASKIN PERMISSION TO BOARD!

A well-built Osirian with an immaculately kept beard, and a frown to match Anatoly's smile leans over.

PERMISSION TO BRING ABOARD ANATOLY! GET THEM UP HERE!

Soon enough, the team climbs aboard the Magpie Princess. While it is in the middle of repairs, anyone with even a passing knowledge of the sea can tell it is a fine vessel. Anatoly and the man talk for a bit before he turns to the team.

My Name is Horemheb, First Mate of the Magpie Princess. If the captain is not here, you answer to me. For today, we will start simple. You will be on guard duty. The captain feels after your swift efforts with the Masthead, you should be rewarded, and so while the rest of us work, you will keep the ship safe.

You get the strong feeling that Horemheb has strong feelings about that, but would never contradict his captain.

Familiarize yourself with the ship and do some cleanup. There is sawdust everywhere, and sawdust is a fire hazard.

He sighs.

We should not be long, so stay out of trouble, and out of the captain's quarters. You don't belong where locked doors are, so don't go there. Other than that... enjoy your guard duty.

With that, he and Anatoly go over the side to begin paddling their way towards the shore, Anatoly giving a shrug and a fairwell wave as he goes over.

Yes. YOU.

He points a finger at her.

Just because you managed to impress the captain doesn't make you any better than anyone else on this crew. We ALL sweep. We ALL clean. We ALL do what is required to make this ship run.

He seems to calm down a moment and refocuses.

You have been given the opportunity to relax on guard duty and do some easy work, rather than whatever hauling and lifting the captain is going to be having the rest of us do all day. So enjoy it... we set sail in a few days, and I can guarantee you you'll wish you had guard duty with nothing better to do than sweep a few spots on ship once things get moving.

A few hours seem to go by without much muss or fuss. After to long however, the crew hears a voice call out in Polyglot, then in common HALLOO? from off the starboard side of the ship. As the team looks over the railing, they see a woman about 15 feet down to the water and about 30 feet out. She is an incredibly old woman, hunched over and wrapped in several sunbleached shawls.

Luckily for him, Chef stands at the ready, and hacks down on one of the fish, nearly severing it's head! However, even with it's head barely attached it still attacks!

Fish!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Bite: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Fish!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Bite: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Fish!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Bite: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Two of the fish bounce off Lorq's armor, but the third blue fish bites deep into his shoulder! Blood begins to flow!

Bleed: 1d4 ⇒ 3

The thing just won't let go! Grappled!

Ivan reloads his pistol, then swiftly moves over to Lorq's side, "Vatch out now sonny, ziss may hurt," he says as he fires the pistol at the green fish ahead of him.

the shot might have missed, but he immediately presses his smoking barrel to Lorq's bleeding wound, stopping the bleeding altogether. "ve'll get a drink in you and you vill be right as the rain."

Stop bleeding utility shot:
Stop Bleeding: The gunslinger makes a firearm attack and then presses the hot barrel against herself or an adjacent creature to staunch a bleeding wound. Instead of dealing damage, the shot ends a single bleed condition affecting the creature. The gunslinger does not have to make an attack roll when performing the deed in this way; she can instead shoot the firearm into the air, but that shot still uses up ammunition normally.

Always wanted to do that :)

Does the fish automatically grapple or does it need to make a check?

The little blighters autograpple! Also, epic!

The fish let's out a eerie screech as it's shot, but the one holding onto lorq just won't let go! At least his wounds are sealed... for now...
