I saw some guy vanish right before my eyes once....maybe it was the shrooms....

Allura wrote:
"Good morning," Allura said, with a smile. "I trust you slept well?"

Devlyn smiles broadly back at her as he opens his eyes.

"I always seem to when I'm here," he says as he gingerly props himself up on his arms. "And you?"

And if you need to tend to your PBPs, please go ahead. If it's this quiet, we might be the only ones playing here...

She smiled. "Oh, yes, quite well. One of these days you're going to have to do something about that," she added with a wink.

"We should go check on the others," She said, standing and walking a few steps back towards the main pool. She looked back over her shoulder.
"Coming?"

I luv quiet time.....

Meepo and Esmerelda yawn, having spent the entire night looking at battle plans.
"I'm tellin' ya, if we could send in tha dwarf bomb throwers, we could break up their numbers real fast."
"Nah, we don't have enough. We need to send in the kobolds, they're good with ambush tactics. They could set up a bunch of mines, too."
"Not 'nough a them, either. How 'bout we get tha kobolds 'hind the enemy, send in tha dwarves to break 'em up, stayin' outta range tha whole tahm, then send in tha Lemmin' armies?"
"Could work. But the Lemmings are too outnumbered. We really need those Winds folks."
"Frogskin's havin' some trouble reachin' 'em, 'e's too busy."

Devlyn blinks a few times, then gets up and follows her.

"I...didn't think you were ready to believe yet that I wasn't going to just walk away after I found out about you," he says quietly. "I didn't think you actually trusted me to keep coming back. But if you do..."

I had some bad shrooms once....they made me feel like it took a gazillion years just to blink my eyes.

She stops and turns to face him.

"It's still hard for me to trust. I don't know if it will ever be different, but you've known the truth about me for a few days and you haven't run screaming yet. So, maybe, I might be willing to take a chance..." She bites her lip, uncertain how to continue.

More like he spotted you and beat a hasty retreat...

LJ snuggled closer to JH as she clung to sleep for just a moment longer. Somehow their afternoon had turned into evening had turned into night. She smiled to herself. But it had been a very pleasant afternoon/evening/night, so she wasn't going to complain. She sighed softly and opened her eyes.

"Good morning," she murmured.

Morning. We have to keep meeting like this. ;)

RL is kicking me hard today. We had a huge battle with githyankis last night in my 3.5 game. My druid/warshaper can't resist a good fight, but only 4.5 hours of sleep for me. Then a presentation for 50 people in 45 minutes. Lots of caffeine today.

She giggled softly. I agree. She sighed. I suppose we should go and find out what the others are up to.

Good luck on your presentation. I know it's hard to function on that little sleep. Hope the session was a good one. And feel better soon :)

He very gently takes her hands in his and looks her in the eye, unwavering.

"I told you I wasn't going anywhere, and I meant it. But I know that almost everyone in your past, except for Sirone, has. I trust you with my life, and it's beginning to feel like with some other things too," he says with a smile. "But if this is going to go any further than where it is right now, you have to have that same trust in me...and nothing I can say will earn that. All I can do is keep coming back to you, and give you the chance to build that trust."

"You have to decide, in your own mind and heart, when you're ready. And I'm willing to wait for you to make that decision. Like I said before, I'm stubborn like that. I also happen to think you're worth the wait."

He kisses her hands, then lets them go...

I feel your pain, sir. Knock their socks off at the presentation! :)

He hugs her back and nods with a smile, and they return to the center of the Oasis.

As they come into the clearing, unfamiliar voices are heard. They see Meepo and Esmeralda.

"Um...Nimora?" Devlyn calls out as they near the pool, looking for the aquatic elf.

"Good morning, Devlyn," the aquatic elf says cheerfully. "I is not sure what namings the new arrival have, but they is get here through wards, so they is can't be all bad. Is you be knowing who these are? I is want to ask Kaelar, but he is be too busy."

"Kaelar? Who's Kaelar? Gods, I must have slept hard last night..." he says, looking confused.

Nimora looks confused."But surely you is knowing the Water Champion? The older one is be Kaelar, and the younger is be Rio. I was being sure you were knowing them."

"Oh - the Bard! I never got his actual name - good to know. Sorry about that, Nimora - I'm just a little distracted at the moment," he says with a sheepish grin and a chuckle.

No socks knocked off, due to subject matter (consolidations), but I didn't faint. I hate public speaking.

Me too. Glad to hear you got through it in one piece. :)

Many distractions these days...grinning, Mirathan tries to attach a lobster to Nimora's net for Ethelbert to spot later.

Mmmm. She gives him a quick kiss before getting up and putting her bikini back on. One of these days, when the world isn't in imminent need of saving, we need to find someplace where there aren't going to be any interruptions and go there for a few days, just the two of us. She smiles back at him. Ready to go fight bad guys?

lynora-Jill wrote:

Always. And a few neutral ones. And once in a while a good one that's out of line.

Yay - last minute meetings at the end of the work day are so much fun...argh ;P

Commuting - be back (hopefully) in an hour :)

She laughs. Alright then, hero. Back to work for both of us.

She waits for him to get up and walks with him out to the main area of the Oasis.

Walking out to the clearing, JH notices Devlyn frequently looking at Allura when she's turned, and Allura sneaking the occasional side glance back.

He gently speaks in Lyn's ear, as he softly tickles her arm with the tracing of a finger. This Oasis sure brings out the romance in people. ;)

She follows his gaze to where Devlyn and Allura are trying so hard not to be obvious with their interest. She grins. She looks up at JH.

Must be something in the water, she says, a little more breathily than intended. She suddenly wished that she weren't half so responsible. But there were worlds to save and all that.

I really hate having to talk to large groups of people, even more so when I don't know who they are. My chest has even started to hurt from being so anxious. Glad you didn't faint/puke/run screaming from the room!

I'm gonna say someone sent Aidan down to the forge.

Nimora Orlbereth wrote:

A voice whispers through Nimora's mind.

"I'm not so busy that I can't help. Don't hesitate to ask if you have need of me."

Usually my anxiety manifests itself into a Mickey Mouse voice, and uncontrollable leg tremors. So it's like a cross of Elvis and MM, much to the amusement of the audience. Mortifying to me. Thankfully, I know the audience well. Just moving from background support to front and center.

I tend to stammer and get headaches.

I stammer too from time to time, usually ramble, but no headaches. Meh, by the time I get thru the next 4 of these I should be an expert. Hopefully.

I trace it back to when I was 14 and being confirmed. I was doing the reading in front of the full church and my voice cracked. I must have been redder than Devlyn's sunburned bum. ;)

P.S.: confirmed?

Settle down, Jack.... :)

[Edited for clarification and for DB3's sake - sorry man! :)]

"Oh iblith," Devlyn curses under his breath as he hears snippets of the conversation as LJ and JH walk out. He turns:

"Hi guys. Seems we've got some new arrivals today," as he looks back to Meepo and Esmerelda "And evidently Kaelar the Bard has set up shop in the pool, so there's a swimming advisory in effect I guess..." he says with a grin.

Um...

My mistake, DB3 - I missed the confirmation part of Jack's post. I thought you were asking for confirmation of something else, so that was just for Jack. Nothing to see here, carry on... :P

Catholic - baptized as a babe, confirmation as a young adult.

So, no cannonballs?

Hey, it's the lady that puts the peasants back together if we get too rough with them.

[Facepalm]

"I really worry about you sometimes." ;)

And with that, gentle folk, I must depart for the evening. If the 'war council' actually occurs tonight, lynora can move Devlyn around as needed. See everyone in the morning! :)

No cannonballs while Kaelar is working in the pool, she says with a laugh. And hello, Meepo and Esmerelda. I didn't expect to see you here. I'm glad you are well. So, what's going on?

JH looks bummed, and pulls out a Baby Ruth, unwraps it and throws it in the water. He watches it float along, and waits.

I know how to clear a pool.

Cresting a sand-dune, the goblin with the gecko mount comes into view heading for the oasis...

Robes flapping in the desert breeze, the goblin rides into the oasis.
The Meepo - Uncle Meepo and Aunt Esmerelda, he says, urgently. Has anybody seen those kobolds? Are they here?

A shock lizard runs in.
"Yippity yippety yappity yip."
A small scroll is tied to its leg.

Oh, hello little one. Aren't you cute. Would you like me to take that scroll off your leg? she says reaching out to the lizard.
