Spoiler:
I don't have the Bard write-up handy, but magical heals generally use surges, just more efficiently. So, yes, taking multiple brief rests makes healing more surge-efficient, assuming the leaders cure two people every 5 minutes

F Half Elf Bard 4

In the mill:

Spoiler:
Catriana can heal surge+4 for each heal, which is the same as song of rest. That means we could take one short rest and use any amount of surges to give surge+4 hp. However, I think Yomi's heals are better so its a choice between taking one short rest and healing up or taking multiple short rests with Yomi healing us more efficiently.

Eyes wide and dark with a mixture of fear and revulsion, Eglantine regains her feet, determined to die on them rather than sunk in Feywild mud.

"Elias, I can't survive another attack" she whispers hoarsely, "But I'm taking one with me when I go."

She stabs expertly and stands defiant, awaiting her doom.

DC10 to move laterally, DC15 to dive. Talking to the boy was a brief rest, so you can spend as many surges as you like, just not as efficiently as if you were taking several rests. Failing a diving roll by more than 5 -- as Cyrus just did -- results in losing a healing surge. Is everyone else following Cyrus in? If Catriana goes, I'll assume Yomi does, given the player's connection problems.

Spoiler:
The dark, murky water of the millpond suddenly jolts into motion, everything around you moves and the current carries you downstream with force you cannot resist. Rocks and stones in the water tumble and crash into you. You claw your way toward -- what was once down, and is now up.

You have begun a skill challenge to overcome the rapids. The primary skills are Athletics and Acrobatics, though you may make a case for others. You're in fast-moving water, with logs flowing downriver, and many moss-covered rocks (or underwater rocks) to be banged against. Actions -- one at a time, please.

Yomi, still need the diving checks from you.

Spoiler:
Athletics Roll 1d20+4=18, 1d20+4=18, 1d20+4=22 Yomi dives into the water. He imitates and follows Catriana as best as he could.

Catriana rises to the surface, while quickly reciting old verses about expanding's one's ability to control his body. The verses have a calming effect for her comerades, while she herself dodges a number of fast moving logs and underwater rocks.
