i liked the Valkirie... but that was the best idea i have ever heard for a halfling :D

I've got another interesting character that I'd love to see people's take on (she's not from Golarion so she's not part of your criteria Hugo).
Joleesa Morvais
She is from Patrick Curtain's Homebrew Campaign Tales from the City of Opal, a fascinating setting based around Ancient Central/South American Civilizations.
You're probably best off looking at her profile page, as her description is rather weighty and I'd rather not clutter up the Thread with any more of my ramblings. =D

Yeah my Birthday is this Friday (12th). Not as close as yours but still close enough (one of my wife's friends' Birthday is on the 24th... she doesn't like that much).

That would be a cool drawing ...but Flash, et tu Aussie? I thought you folks had one of my distant cousins as PM during WWII. I even thought you had a famous uni with my last name on it. And still you spell my name like the window dressing? I must go weep now, for no one will ever get it right if my Oz brothers wont...

Damn, sorry Pat I didn't even pick up on that (and I even know it's not spelled that way). I am just way too tired at the moment (like nodding off at the computer tired) and it's only 10.30pm. My mind has it's good and bad times when I'm like that. Too many late nights and early mornings lately.

I feel bad now. :(

Aww I'm just yanking yeh. Smile! I've often thought I should just add the 'a' in legally. Lord knows enough of my kin have. Either that or go back to the original Gaelic spelling of MacCruitian. Or take my mother's maiden name of Ryan .. or my birthmom's name of MacIntyre ...LOL

Man, you shouldn't have to change your name due to the stupidity of others. It's like people from foreign countries who change their name when the come to a Western country: they shouldn't have to. It's usually not that hard to learn the correct pronunciation once you are told.

My father-in-law's name is Jovica (Yo-vit-sa) but he introduces himself as John and most of his Aussie friends call him that. I call him Jovica. It's his name and he shouldn't have to tell people otherwise (it's not even that hard to pronounce once you're told, although one of his friends still can't say it properly no matter how many times he's told).

I requested Adela a little while back, but this thread actually inspired me to pick up the pencils again and try a sketch of my own. :) It's been a long time since I last drew anything, and it was a lot of fun just sitting down and working on some art again.

I was in PTI (Pittsburgh Technical Institute) for Multimedia Technologies, and we did a lot of drawing by hand, despite it being a technology degree (which i didn't get). After I was, more or less, forced to drop out, I put my pencil down, and haven't picked it back up since.

Since then, I enlisted in the army, unsuccessfully finished BCT (very humiliating for me, as i very much wanted to be there), sulked around for a year before going back to college (Lakeland Community College). Failed a very important class just short of graduating, got financial aid pulled, and couldn't pay it off. Now i work full time in a drive thru beverage/grocery place trying to save enough to pay off what i owe, so that i may one day go back to college and finish my last several classes.

I've went from art to technology, now i'm stuck, in my spare time, doing minor programming. Needless to say, i'm in a rut..

Thanks, guys! :)

Aww man. That sucks (and sounds similar to my own story). :( I still think you should pick your pencil back up though - not doing so would be a shame, and I'm really curious about your art now!

On a different note, here is a very useful item for Photoshop users, and this one as well.

Work means that I don't have the time I used to for drawing, but I'd like to start doing artwork properly again. :) I'm glad you guys think I'm good enough to contribute here - I'll take a look through the requests and see if I can find time to give one or two of them a try. :D

I don't know when i'd even be able to do such a thing. I'm pretty busy all week as it is. I just don't know that i'd even remember all that was taught to me that long ago. I do remember that the only way to get better is to draw every day. An hour a day at least.

What to do.. what to do..

Lilith wrote:

Heh, Coralee Starscryer and Vykos the Deathless don't need to be done. ;)

Not that I wouldn't love people to draw my characters and all, but in terms of drawing potential they're both pretty "plain" in terms of what they are wearing and carrying. Trust me I have way cooler looking characters than that. Take Joleesa above for example, the one Shiny's gonna do for me (thanks by the way Shiny, that'd be cool)!

Plus I was mainly just having a joke with/at Hugo using those two and trying to tease him to draw more of my characters.
>;D

Slatz Grubnik wrote:

Do it! If you draw ONE commission a month you'll fnd its pretty satisfying. And I bet you can find a little time to pull one a month ;) Afterwards you can evaluate if its worth it!

*sends lots of encouragement on Slatz way*

Doooooo eeeet. Dooooooooo eeeet. If it's something you truly liked doing, then you will find (or make) the time to do it. :)

Yeah I second this. EDIT: well third then. Damn Lil you are the Ninja Mistress!!! You must be taking lessons from Gnijita!

I don't (well can't would be a better term) draw, but I love to colour and doing the colours for some of these pieces has been fun. I also don't have a lot of spare time, but trust me it's very relaxing after a hard day at work.

Music Box of Landscapes

The original name was Fabergé's Music box of Landscapes... but i do believe Fabergé is an owned name :P

in few words, it open windows to toher worlds while its open and sounding, every time you open it, it shows a different palce, never the same, it could be another part of the same world, another world, another plane... or even chaos itself

originally it wouldhave been an artifact that let you learn knowledges like History, Planes, etc... but it will eat your sanity by asking a Will saving throw against an increasing DC until your sanity was nothing but ragtags

its based in the story "The Lamp of Alhazred" of HP Lovecraft & August Derleth, but i believe Derleth is more involved in this than Lovecraft himself... just based on his stories.

If you have a colour scheme in mind, go for it :) I'd love to see her coloured. Originally, I had in mind that most of her clothing would be pale - white, cream or ivory, with some splashes of brighter colour around her belt and perhaps boots. That's just a suggestion though - please feel free to go with whatever you think would work best. :D
