Ah, yes, I did miss it. I was only reading the RSS feed and for some reason it didn't display Wellard's last post although it showed Marak's post after it.
But though Ali might be disturbed by the rugs (but not as much I don't think, she has almost certainly seen the like before in other two-leg dwellings in the village, and she herself uses hide. It had been the open and obviously cruel display of the heads, particularly that of a horse, combined with her already existing hatred of Goblins that caused her reaction.
As the carvings, if she even noticed them, she wouldn't be bothered by it all all. Nudity and mating are completely natural things to her. She has none of societies hang ups about sex.

Actually, it was the rugs and the horseshoes (each of which represents a dead horse, most likely) that he was worried about Ali not appreciating. Marak didn't even bat an eye at the naughty carvings.

Well said therealthom, Val was a brilliant RPGer, not just as Kallie, but in all her various incarnations. Wherever she is and whatever she's doing, I wish her well.
The party certainly is in need of an arcane caster though, so while no one can replace Val, perhaps another can settle into her spot in the party.

I am also sorry to lose Val. Kaliciel was a fun character and provided a nice foil to the typically fearless adventurer most of us are accustomed to.
We really do need an arcane caster now. Hopefully that slot will be filled quickly.
I will be filling it, but I can't decide which class would be most appropriate. Any suggestions?
DM Wellard |
Agreed it was easy...Nightflier answered within 8 minutes off my call and works from home so posting shouldn't be a problem...
NF..you have a few days yet before your character can be introduced..I know where he/she is..
I have to say I'm not familiar with the conversion you mentioned and I've never been that keen on the warlock as a class anyway..still if you want to play one I'm not going to stop you...
and yes Bill I miss Val too..I only hope that her vanishing was a case of burn out and not something in RL that has permanently put an end to her posting..maybe someday we can welcome Kallie back to the party..I do know there's at least one point in part 4 where she will be making a cameo.

No matter. I will not be playing warlock than. But I'm very open to suggestion what should I be playing. What kind of caster is needed? Blaster (DPS) or something else? I want to create a character that will be most useful to the group.
Khaladon |
Well, as we currently don't have any kind of arcane caster, any would be helpful. But as the party is already fairly strong melee wise, IMHO a utility caster may be most useful. On the other hand though, we don't really have much AOE spells right now either. But honestly, I say play whatever PC you will enjoy playing the most.
Oh, and PS, welcome aboard! : )
@Wellard: Cool! Love the idea of a Kallie Cameo sometime in the future = D
therealthom |
Kallie mixed support with a little blasting. Her magic missiles could be very useful in a pinch, heavenly fire helped healing with the good-aligned PCs. I don't remember her doing much in the battlefield control line. I think you could take your caster any direction and it would work.

Chelish and common are the same language in Golarion..as Chelish is just a dialect of Taldane which is the common tounge.
I think you may have a few too many languages..You should have 8
Common plus 4 from your Intelligence plus a further 3 from your ranks in Linguistics
Sorry, I've misread Linguistics skill. What about traits and Item Familiar?
DM Wellard |
We haven't bothered with traits...what are the feelings of the rest off you...should we retroactivly add them?
As for the Item Familiar I'll have to read that up...
[later edit]
OK I read it..and I'll have to say no. I don't like the idea of giving you an item that could possibly nerf your character because a 1st level rogue decides to steal it
Nathaniel Morai-Thrune |
Welcome Nathaniel.
I see there might be some interesting RP possibilities with your familiar considering we had a big battle against an imp not too long ago...I guess it's a really good thing Kallie won't be around for that! ;-)
I won't be getting an imp till 9th level, I'm sorry to say. I'm interested in familiar(s) because of rp, but I'll just have to wait.
DM Wellard |
Sorry guys...combination off lousty shift times...Xmas preparations and my father being seriously ill has sort off slowed me down recently..however my dads improved a bit and I'll have time over the next couple off days..
NF...full HP for level one and then 75% of full for each level.
As for spells...I'll consider stuff from the spell compendium on a spell by spell basis

Fortunately cancer treatments have come a long way. Nasty process still, but the prognosis is better in most cases than it was just a few years ago.
He was in remission for 7 years now its back worse than ever...like I say we are taking it day by day...he's in our local hospice which is barely 5 minutes walk from my front door thankfully

Sorry to hear about your Pa Wellard, Cancer can be tough and I am sure most families have at least one story involving it. Please take the time to check out this website here: http://www.miraclemineral.org/
If you're willing to spend some time there's Tons of research and testimonials available on amazing and simple, but inexpensive and incredible product. And there are countless stories on it's success with cancer. I even know of some personally.
Wish you and your family all the best and wish everyone a happy holiday season.
As for the little flying red devil/demon thingy? Ali doesn't care what it's called, if something looking even similar to it shows up, she's gonna try and bite it's yucky head off ;-)
DM Wellard |
Sorry for the delays..its the season. However the good news is that my father is improving he's back on his feet..very weak but not at death's door like we feared he was only three weeks ago
Nightflier..

Wellard, I've added hit points and advanced learning spell. Check it out. Also, is there a way for my character to get familiar, animal companion or henchmen before 9th level? Some kind of solo quest, perhaps? Is it possible for me to perhaps create additional character - pseudodragon, kercpa, imp or something else along those lines?
therealthom |
nightflier, I'm just a humble player, but I would say "yes, he's still needed." Wellard's posting rate has dropped off since December. I think real life is requiring a lot of his time. When that straightens out I'm sure he'll be back to form here. Don't lose hope.
