Climbing the Cathederal is easily effected...although officially completed there is still some minor work occuring and some scaffolding for the stone Masons is still up at the back..you wont get much of an edge but I'll give you a +2 circumstance bonus for prior preparation

Azoun The Sage wrote:Dude +2 double stats! That rocks! It just costs money?Yup. 250% of the price of the single-stat item, I think. There's also triple stat items, but Clerics don't get Cat's Grace or Fox's Cunning, so Marak couldn't make one of those alone, and I don't think any of us could afford one, even at crafting cost...
So then it costs the amount of purchasing the magical item plus another 150%?

More like 'cost of item 1' + '150% cost of item 2.' But I doubt I'll be making anything off of the menu, so for our purposes, the Belt of Physical Might (Str + Con) or Headband of Mental Superiority (Wis + Cha) are all that will be available.
A Belt of +2 Str or a Belt of +2 Con are 2000 gp to create and a Belt of +2 Str *and* +2 Con are 5000 gp to create.

Kevin.
Thistle top was an enigma until the party explored it.However the fact that they came back victorious will be the talking point of the town for days
Azoun..
You are locally famous but that fame hasn't spread beyond Sandpoint... yet.Romon is already suffering some of the effects of that fame however.

Thanks and what do you think of it Wellard? As I understand it, it would put my animal companion at equal to my lvl just as a Druid's is.
DM Wellard |
No problem with that one...Ali can have it at 7th level(the point at which most druids companions get an increase).
Sure Kevin no pressure bring her in whenever you want.I'm going to start the new thread for Skinsaw tomorrow..we only have a small matter for Romon to deal with in the old thread anyway.

So, random thoughts on summoning, for Alisebett.
Based on the information on Summoning and Calling, on 209 & 210, it appears that animals (fey, etc.) summoned via Summon Nature's Ally, even if 'killed,' do not actually die, but reform 24 hours later.
This makes sense for outsiders, who are spiritual manifestations brought from other planes, with their 'essence' remaining on their home plane, but in the case of animals, summoned from right here on Golarion, who aren't composite creatures of flesh and spirit, like Outsiders, it doesn't immediately make much sense that the Ape you summoned and got killed is going to reappear unharmed 24 hours later.
My own fanwank;
a) Summon Nature's Ally summons a First World 'reflection' of a living animal (fey, plant, elemental, whatever) and not an actual flesh and blood animal. While it is manifested in that form, it's every bit a flesh and blood animal, no more or less real than the manifestations of outsiders summoned up via Summon Monster spells, but after they 'die,' the primal spirit returns to the First World.
b) Summon Nature's Ally reaches out to a real living animal (plant, fey, whatever) and brings a fragment of its spirit to the Druid and weaves a temporary body for it, just like the temporary bodies fashioned for Summoned Monsters from the outer planes. The creature itself is only dimly aware of a sense of lassitude and 'greys out' for a moment as the spell is in effect (and the spell does not select specimens that are currently in dangerous situations, being most likely to select animals that are already asleep), and only becomes aware of some fleeting images and faint sensations when the spell ends and it's full spirit slams back into it's body. It might start awake, wondering what this strange dream was, or look around, feeling out of place, and, in extreme cases, might even have some physical manifestation of it's spiritual experiences, such as an old scar over a 'fatal' wound that it never suffered in this life.
c) Summon Nature's Ally physically brings the creature to the Druid's location, but if it suffers lethal damage, whisks it away immediately, before the event of death, and heals the animal back up to full hit points before depositing it back wherever it found it, making it a long-range teleporation + healing effect. In this case, animals (fey, plants, elementals, etc.) *will* suffer the psychological effects of being occasionally summoned and experiencing sometimes grievous injuries, even if the injuries magically go away before the creature is returned to it's starting point.
A sub-option could also erase the memories of the encounter from the animal (fey, etc.), or leave them as dim and cloudy, like daydreams or visions, and be even more 'friendly' to the summoned animals, who would be less likely to reappear surrounded by their pack / cete / whatever still psychologically and emotionally in a fatal melee (or, in the case of a badger, stuck in a Rage or Frenzy!), causing all sorts of potential problems.
d) as it says in the core description. The animal (whatever) is summoned to the druid's presence, and if it dies, 'reforms 24 hours later' wherever it was summoned from (with it's pack / family / troop possibly miles away, it's nest unguarded, it's young untended, etc. Pretty much ridiculously unacceptable for most Druids.).

Oooo. I like the back-link to the original thread. That will make it much easier to find if needed.
Do you want us to start posting the in town actions in the new thread, or finish our town business in the old thread and just post new adventure stuff in the new thread?
So Romon's got a bunch of cash ( the cash total was a little over 5,000 gp per PC?) and Sandpoint is a small place. What can he buy? He'll be looking for a short sword, MW at least, +1 if he can find it. ALso looking to upgrade his armour which is already MW leather. He likes the red leathers -- he's starting to think of the them as his trademark. (And manly too, even Marak thinks so.) Right now he has a MW short-bow. If he could upgrade to a MW composite shortbow (+1 or +2 strength) that would be good. Any miscellaneous magic that crosses his path would be considered although he has no specific desires.(Marak has taught him the usefulness of a bag of holding or a handy haversack, but meta-game that wouldn't help the party so much.)
In his own mind he's got to get rid of much of the coin. He feels it makes him easily identifiable as a mark . Goods or gems. But again because Sandpoint is small he feels gems would make him a mark because he can't spread out the purchases.
Wellard:
{Spoiler}
In light of his recent difficulties, Romon will put off the climbing challenge with Muchorak. [/spoiler]

So to double check, everyone got 5,100gp and 5sp as of now. That's including the loot being sold?
Kalie has about 6,200gp, so make the wish list good!
How do you want to handle the shopping? Do you want us to just pull out the book and find items we would like to purchase? Or will you be providing a list of what's available to purchase?

Sorry for the delay all, RL stepped up in the form of us deciding that it was time for my new gf to go back to work. And since I can operate my business from home, suddenly this 20yrs long confirmed bachalor is playing Mr. Mom to her two beautiful toddler girls (whom I dearly love.)
But between dirty diapers, bathtime, feeding, play, breaking up fights and the little one with a fever (which means she has become surgically attached to the(my) hip), not to mention getting my new biz going and trying to keep some semblance of an actual relationship going with ma girl, time has been a commodity in short supply. Thankfully, do to my getting more into the grove of things now and an invention called a DVD player, I am able to grab a few moments here and there.
Ill level Ali asap and thanks Wellard, your suggestion works fine for me. If it is possible to use that Firecat or whatever it was called canyougive me the name and stats for it, or the reference to it? Otherwise, she'll probably just go with one of her wolf den brothers or something. I'll do all I can to get to this game regularily, but if at any time my absence causes any delay please feel free to dmpc Anya.
Cheers

Ah, it's small size...hmmm, I was kinda hopingt for at least a medium sized animal so it would be bigger than her in wolf form...'ll give it a little more thought.
Set, some great thoughts there friend. A and B make the most sense to me, C seems to powerful for a 1st level spell, and of course you are 100% right abut D.
Wellard, just to satisfy my curiosity as I don't think it's been addressed yet, do we still have the warhorse or not?
And Finally, don't have any books at present (my PC is still toast), so any suggestions for items, traits and feats will be warmly welcomed. EDIT: Oh hey! Just realized I can use that Nethys page! Great link Set, Thanks!
And Welcome Kevin! Looking forward to seeing all you bring to this great team.
EDIT2: I can't seem to be able to edit Ali's sheet at all...Is anyone else having this problem? Anywayt, no more time for this today. Be back asap.

ok, to the shopping...
How's about an Efficient Quiver 1,800gp
What happened to Nualia's amulet? Did we sell that or did Muchorak get that? I posted earlier he would've like it (+1 saves is a nice deal)
Wellard, on Bracers of Armor pg 504-505, am I reading it correctly in that Bracers of Armor would not stack with Muchorak's Leather armor?
DM Wellard |
Efficient quiver no problem.
Nualias amulet is still up for grabs.
Bracers give an armour bonus so do not stack with armour..if you wear bracers with a bonus higher than the armour you have then they replace the armours bonus with their own.
For those who wear armour bracers are not cost effective you're better off getting armour enchanted for the same price as the bracers bonuses.
ie bracers of armour +1 1000gp
enchant your armour to +1 and add the armours own bonus..1000gp.
Set |
Everyone else, so what's going on with the Amulet? Did someone else need or want it?
Mucho seems the one most likely to need the save bonuses (with Romon second, since the two of you are the ones who are up-front most often, either in melee or for the door-opening dance).
Marak has no need (or want) for the amulet.

I am trying to decide what vestiges to bind for the next adventure. Do we need additional spell-casting or more melee backup?
Usually Ali and Muchorak have been death on wheels and everyone else has gotten some good licks in. We've cruised through most of the combat encounters. That last encounter left us looking a little vulnerable. If the barghest hadn't wasted a round on Nathaniel, or if Wellard rolled better in the third or fourth rounds we could have had 2 down PCs pretty easily. (Wellard, I confess I had to peek after you said you nerfed the encounter. That Barghest was nasty.)
Kevin, how's Naria focused? COmbat, utility ? That could nudge Inikai one way or another.
DM Wellard |
Well he was suppossed to be an elite advanced 3.5 creature and I made him a standard PF greater Barghest..and I reckon i could still have TPK'd you but after 2 years I didn't want to end on a low like that.
Now off course I have Mr Pett hanging over my shoulder so the kid gloves are off..no more concessions for you guys.:)

At the moment her magic is a bit spread with a slight emphasis on combat. Although I could change it slightly based on need (And whether Wellard will allow APG spells)

Can Inikai sell Tsuto's shortbow? Also, will Marak have time to craft a headband of charisma +2? If not, Inikai can bind a vestige that allows crafting items, he would just have to have someone cast the spell, Eagle's Charisma for him.
Also, everybody, are we walking to Magnimar or riding?
Should be 2 days to craft, and Marak can cast the spell, although he's capable of crafting it as well. DC is 13, so Marak can Take 10 on that to make it.
Set |
Set, I'll think about magic items to put Marak to work too.
He lives to serve.
Honestly, there's crap-all for feats for Clerics anyway. At this point, I'd be taking stuff like Improved Initiative or Toughness, if I didn't start crafting stuff. Such a difference from playing a Fighter or Rogue, where I'm sweating every feat, and trying to squeeze or 'make do.'
Khaladon |
Khaladon, the boards have been frustratingly spotty for a day or 3. Post-Gen Con ordering I think.
So what's your business?
Good luck with those changes. Kids are a joy, but they're a lot of work too.
Sorry Thom, hadn't checked the OOC for a lil bit.
(rest spoilered for space-not particularily private)I'm in Internet Marketing, the ideal goal is to set up several passive income streams which will eventally enable me to retire from being concerned about earning money as I'll have instead created ongoing wealth. I'm also a bit on an inventer and am n the process of seeing my firt product throuigh to market. Finally I'm just putting the final touches the first draft of my first children's story. This is the project most dear to me as I feel the subject is a very important one which has never (t my knowledge at least) been dealt with in the right way for young ones. Yup, lot of tongs in the fire but for good or ill, that's just the way my brain works. I'm finally finding the trick of making that work For me though which is a mighty good thing.
Ali supplies her own transportation obviously, but since we already have the war horse, riding seems to make sense. If any extra coin is needed for mounts or supplies or whatever, you can always feel free to dip into hers.
Speaking of coin, I believe this is what I'll order for her if it's possible:
-Upgrade her leather tp +1= 1,000gp
-Belt of +2 Str=2,000gp (would take the combo Str + Con for 5,000 but don't think she has enough for that, correct?)
-If no one snagged that potion of CMW she'll snag that or buy a couple.
Aaaand that should do it for that stuff.
If Marak and Big Bear want to 'gift' the to Ali that's cool, otherwise we'll just skip it
Wellard: Some Changes to Ali (open to all)
Since Pathfinder doesn't have a spirit shaman (with spells) I've changed her spell progression to be based on the Witch class instead. So at 5th level she has 4 cantrips, 3 first, 2 second and 1 third, plus bonus for high Chr. All else is the same though, still Wis and Chr based and from Druid Spell List. She can choose any druid spell she wants each day. (and remember as a shapeshifter she can Never cast while in shifted form).
Finally, after much internal debate over hich animal companion I'm going with the wolf as I believe that will give more RP posibilities based on her background. And had to take that Hunter's Boon feat just so he can keep up battle-wise with the rest of us.
If you disagree with any of these changes or want anything changed again just let me know I'll adjust it
So I think that's it...(will write up the Ali finding her 'four-leg brother' scene soon)
