You keep telling yourself,"Things have gone south lately and I don't actually like it here that much anymore." But you keep coming. You realize that you have nowhere else to go.
I'm a recent convert to the board, I cam on about the same time Alpha 2 went on-line, so I cant say for sure what it was like before. However, for the most part I have found the boards to be a pretty civil place. Every once in awhile you get the hit and run troll, but for the most part I have enjoyed the conversations around here. Especially when you get down into the dark depths of the board where the gamists and character optimizers fear to go. I have been shouted down a few times, but usually when I look back on it, I realize that what I said sounds just as stupid to me now as it did to others back then.

More and more they are finding that lecture is one of the least effective ways of teaching.I have noticed that classes that give a bit of teaching at the beginning and then time to work on stuff in class are the ones that I benefit most from. as opposed to those that are an hour and half long lecture, which I almsot invariably becgin to write adventures during.
We don't learn by hearing, we learn by doing.
That's why the most influential speakers in history haven't told people *what* to think, they've told people *how* to think, by wrapping their messages up in riddles or parables or koans, that have to be deciphered by the listener. The students (disciples, whatever) aren't being spoon-fed the information, they are being forced to figure it out for themselves, which automatically invests them in the teaching and makes it a part of their beliefs, because they feel that it is something they figured out on their own, not something some dude told them.
All lectures do is put people to sleep.

You've been dismissed by the Cha-dump people but still continue to go to the Beta/Playtest forum.
You've been dismissed by the Cha-dump people and got into an argument with them about politeness/not-being-a-dick.
Edit: You were surprised/disappointed that people didn't look like their avatars when you met them in real life.

- You've actually asked yourself "when was the last time _____ posted?" in a non-ironic sense of actually wanting their opinion on something, indicating that not only do you remeber them, but you remember which ones had opinions you cared to see.
examples include but are not limited to Chris Wissel and Great Green God.

EDIT: or whatever positive word they use in Golarion, so as not to be confused with a church goer, or follower of any organized religion

I tried being a bird once, but I just ended up with a broken arm.

You have a list.
Man...I totally need a list. but I don't really want to put anyone on it. mostly since the only people that offend me enough to put on there are not the ones with the sense of humour enough to enjoy it.
maybe I'll put CourtFool at number 1. maybe he'll get a kick out of it.
edit: nope. top honors for that go to Fake Healer for This thread where he completely shot down my hours of calculations because it was in 2007 firkins and not 1867 firkins...damn you Fakey!

I second this. there are some things that just aren't done.

Alright fine. I won't do that then...

I actually don't. I was kinda hoping by putting it out there someone might share. I can only assume it's an in-joke involving him ordering a whole bunch of Bella Sara stuff and then insulting Gary. or pestering them about having a subscription.

I'm too lazy to dig up the threads, but I'll share the story because I hate not being in on in-jokes:
Paizo posted that they were looking for a customer service rep. I recommended that the fire Cosmo and hire me instead. Cosmo joked that he was going to switch all my subscriptions to Bella Sara cards.
Shortly thereafter, I did receive a package of Bella Sara cards from Paizo. It was so hilarious, I posted about it...
Which then caused Gary/Cosmo/Vic (I suspect Vic's involvement) to change my avatar to a pony and my title to Bella Sara Charter Superscriber. Eventually I got my avatar back, but the title has stuck.
