Beta is sold out at GenCon!!!!!!
See here for proof.
Wow. I hope my friend was able to pick me up my copy, or that Paizo has plenty in the warehouse. If not, I'll be beating myself up for the next year for not pre-ordering.

I just called a friend at the Con, for those of you at the Con go by Dwarven Sweatshoppe booth #1331 and check them out. Handmade, high quality and COOL dice trays.
Anyway, he said it was a madhouse. They have sold as much in two days this year as we did all of the Con last year. He said when the doors opened this morning people were running into the Vendor area.
Looks like people are in a buying frenzy there.

Damn, if I told them once, I've told them one hundred times: "store extra coffee!"

My congrats to Paizo! I suspect it is just they have staged deliveries. Some Thursday. Some Friday. Etc. But let's talk s&~# anyways.
Isn't someone supposed to accuse Paizo of under ordering to claim they are going to a second printing early? Thereby giving Paizo the right to claim they went to second print faster the 4e. Somebody give me a good conspiracy theory.

Can't do it. They said from the beginning that it would be a short print run and it was mainly designed to get a printed copy into the hands of the people who wanted to take part in the playtest. What I find cool is that this isn't even the final game and people are going nuts about it. This is all reading omens and tea leaves, but I'm getting the feeling that the Pathfinder RPG is going to do very well for itself.

Hi there all
I am at the show, so I will be brief. We are only sold out at the show, you can still get it from Paizo.com. I'll post more later.

Congrats on selling a flaming metric ass ton (thank you Erik Mona) of the PFRPG. It deserves the reception it has gotten.
Jason, you did an awesome job with this game. Thanks for your work and time.

<grins> Yikes. Thanks for that. I thought it didn't sound quite right.

Paizo may want to make it better known that a lot was cut from the Beta print version and that you guys made the cut material available in the PDF download.
Only spells and magic items were cut, and will be in the final PF version, but people buying the print version probably won't look at the PDF download to know the cut material is there.
I hope your GenCon sellers were telling buyers of the Beta print about the download as the transaction was being made.
Congrats on the sell out. I do hope it fore tells a great future for Pathfinder, and the 3E market in general.

Only *some*... there are still magic items and spells in the book.
I'm sure they are telling the customers about the web enhancement, they're good like that.Jal Dorak |
*sighs* the one company I trust, and now I hear that they've sold out.
someone passes me a note
OH! THAT kind of sold out! Awesome!
I had an acquiantance in high school who once quoted someone as saying "U2 will never sell out!"
To this day, I have no idea which way he meant it, but clearly they have done so in one way, but arguably so in another.
EDIT: Based on Jason's blog photo, it appears PCCS is selling well too.

While I won't give you the exact number, it was more than twice the highest sales we have ever had on a single product at GenCon. It was also close to the number of copies of Werewolf that White Wolf sold in the early 90's, or at least I think it is. Stupid memory gets fuzzier as I get older. ;) So, a bunch! And I bet we could have sold 3 to 4 times that number! Who knew that a Beta would get that kind of attention? I remember when we first proposed printing the Beta, we were actually getting quotes for 1,000 and 2,000 copies. Boy, am I glad I went with a much larger print run! :)

They still went to the distributors right? I was going to order my print copy from Amazon or B&N.
But this rocks!
GG convention-eers!
We still have a large but ever dwindling number of copies in our warehouse. And, yes, we sent out the orders to distribution, so they should have it soon!

Actually, I didn't even think about that as we were selling these things. We had a line stretching out of the booth and about all I had time to say was "Next person in line please!" :) I am sure most of those folks are here on the boards or will be soon enough. Hopefully, we can get them that info. If they gave us their email address (or it was already in the system), then we can send them all emails reminding them about the download when we get back in the office.

Ditto.
Many of us knew this would happen. And although Erik has never sought a crown, this coronation of PRPG is complete. Congratulations everyone at PAIZO! Jason - Nice job taking "care" of our game. PAIZO is the new steward of our game!
Huzzah!

Hei Lisa,
I just wanted to say that the two games I'm playing now are two of your kids: Ars Magica (best game ever) and Pathfinder.
I hope Beta copies arrive at Europe soon.
I still have a very strong fondness for Ars Magica. I think the magic system is the best that has ever been created. If I had more time, I would figure out how to translate the magic system into 3.5 for my game.
