Missing Tiefling?

Due to the mention of Tieflings in CotCT/Korvosa, which I'm DMing, and the greater emphasis on them in Second Darkness/Riddleport, where I'm going to be a player, I was hoping to see info on this race for creating one as a PC in Golarion. Any information on changes/tweaks from 3.5 would be greatly appreciated :)

Now to delve into creating one character in the new rules and adapting two others over! Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Not in the basic players handbook, as such races are not considered "standard races".

Ill have a go but its sure to be a mess.

As a small aside, we will not be adding any new races to Chapter 3 at this time. Feel free to discuss new races in the General Discussion forum, but leave them out of discussions here.

By that logic, should there not have been a write-up for them included in the Pathfinder Companion: Second Darkeness? They play an important role in Riddleport.

I remember reading somewhere that the standard races where given a power upgade because the other published races where stronger, I think assimar and tiefling are part of the "other" races so I dont think they need an upgrade for now.

This is true, but the Pathfinder setting/adventures are different than the Pathfinder RPG. What might be quite important in one might never show up in the other, and vice versa. Since planetouched are currently in the MM, I suspect we'll see them in the Big Book of Monsters sometime after the final rules are out. 'Til then, I'd suggest running them as written in the SRD, minus the LA.

i would say that i you have the Forgotten Realms Campaign Book use those Tiefling but take the +1 level adjustment

as someone else commented the clases and races in Pathfinder RPG were boosted to be as good options as any of the new ones created...

Second Darkness uses 3.5e standard rules. Pathfinder adventures will only switch over to the Pathfinder RPG once the final version is released, in August 2009.

I did read that, but because of the majorly high numbers of Tieflings in Riddleport (listed at 3% of the population, higher than halflings, gnomes and all the "others" which would include elves), I didn't consider this as a "new" race, but one that seems to be in use in Golarion.

There is no information on them beyond a small blurb of other races in the RPG, and in the Campaign Book, there's a mention of them in Cheliax, surprise, surprise :)

::chuckle:: And the next poster suggests keeping the LA :) That was why I was hoping for official word on this race somewhere in the new rules so I can present my GM with the info for her to decide on.

no Level Adjustment
since the normal classes were adjusted, the ones that were hipped then pass to be normal, same with Aasimar and Genasi if you use them

i jsut didn't spelled me correctly
