[Mirumoto Hanzo]

Hanzo awakens to a kaleidoscope of daggers stabbing into his eyes, his skull a taiko drum beaten by oni.

He groans, inwardly vowing never to drink alcohol again, especially with a Crab. He crawls toward his water jug and begins sipping to rehydrate himself.

Hanzo spends the next two hours or so recuperating and sipping water. When he feels recovered, he places his daisho in its stand in his room, then proceeds downstairs. Perhaps he'll find the rest of the Dragon delegation.

Considering the possibilities and the likelihood of her clansmates being at a temple of Bishamon, Tokie shook her head and started towards one of the many to Benten instead.

'To be in contemplation to one so warrior bent...' The thought stopped her up short. Considering what they were there for, it was entirely possible that her clansmates prayed for strength at this time, instead of going to the gentler Fortune.

With a sigh, she turned once more, instead heading for a temple of Bishamon, hoping to find her clansmates inside.

For Isawa Tokie

Your intuition is correct. You see in front of the statue of Bishamon praying is Isawa Kuemon, delegation head, and Shiba Aiko, Topaz Championship contestant and Kuemon-dono's bodyguard.

Kuemon-dono opens his eyes sensing your presence. "Ohayo, Tokie-kun. I knew you would find us. The elements do favor you. Please walk with me." Kuemon-dono paces around the temple, Shiba Aiko, a silent shadow behind. "Has Master Hochiu contacted yet?"

[Mirumoto Hanzo]

Hanzo places his daisho in its rack, and after freshening himself up, heads downstairs to the common room.

Ume put the excerpts to the side, annoyed that she could be distracted so easily. She half wanted to follow up on her earlier plans, and speak to whoever inhabited this other room...

Either way, staying here would only spoil the day. She left her room behind after briefly checking that her appearance was in order... Maybe to go to the common room again.

Tokie gave a bow to him, allowing a smile to light up her face. "Kuemon-dono, I am very pleased to have caught up with you." Standing for a moment, she also gave a bow to Shiba Aiko, acknowledging the presence of one of her betters.

Her greetings out of the way, she looked to Kuemon, straightening her shoulders a bit as she started to walk with him. "Yes, Master Hochiu has sent a message to me...a flaming Phoenix. I was honored to recieve a message from him in such a fashion. He reminds me that others in my position have won the Topaz Championship in the past and asks that I strive to repeat that honor for the Phoenix." She paused, a thoughtful expression crossing her features.

"I will do my best to honor our clan here and to strive to succeed. I must admit to feeling a bit disoriented, however."

For Isawa Tokie

"Yes, we need you do well in the tournament. I will reveal to you more of the reason when I deem it right." Kuemon-dono continues, "You must be famished looking for us. Let us return to the inn."
