Once she responded to it by holding her hand out, she almost forgot herself once more at seeing the mark on the scroll. She could feel her face flush with pleasure and nervousness at being so personally addressed by one of the Elemental Masters. It seemed to be specifically an address by the Master of Fire themselves; her own chosen element. The concept of such filled her with joy.
Holding the scroll close, she wended her way out of the dining area and into the wide open spaces outside the inn. The beauty of the city was lost on her as she found a bench or seat to settle herself on, immediately out of the flow and bustle of traffic. Once there, she split the scroll open, her eyes scanning the contents quickly.

For Hida Nagatsuna
You snap out of your revelry and consider the Crane building before you. There is a dainty, almost effeminate quality to them. They are nothing like the buildings back home. Then you notice a sake house. Its sign has long faded and the rest of the building ill-maintained. Then you hear familiar angry voice. ”I’ll have you know I am a great hero!” It’s Tarugo-dono!
For Mirumoto Hanzo
Your wandering have taken you to a row of sake houses and there at a far end you notice the hulking form of Hida Nagatsuna. A loud voice can be heard screaming from an ill-aspected sake house, ”I’ll have you know I am a great hero!”
Defense Roll noted by the way.
For Matsu Ume
For Bayushi Tatsuya and Moshi Tirishu
You wonder who she could be.
For Isawa Tokei
“Give everything for the Phoenix.” After reading the missive, the words catch fire and disappear without burning the paper. You look up and notice that the chrysanthemum trees are almost in bloom. Perhaps, tomorrow.
For Daidoji Yasuo
Then your revelry is shattered by a rather loud and impolite ”Stop!” It is a female voice and it came from one of the rooms.

Struck out of his inner reverie by the sudden commotion, Who is foolish enough to anger Tarugo-dono? Whoever got between him and his sake will pay a heavy price. Nagatsuna enters the structure to not so much help his fellow crab but to witness the regret in the eyes of whomever is the target of Tarugo's ire.

After getting an answer, he then proceeds to plead for your pardon, "I crave your pardon for disturbing your peace." He then bows low, lower than one to which you are entitled to.

The fact that someone as highly-placed as him made sure she wasn't going to take offense either spoke very highly or very lowly of him. Either he was truly and sincerely polite, or he was insecure and felt the need to make sure noone even though of taking offense.

Help me a bit. Now that the Otomo is gone, how rude would it be to politely ask if the person inside needs any assistance? Could this be phrased correctly, or is it right out?

For Matsu Ume
You hear the voice of the Otomo and you hear him order the woman to keep silent.
Matsu Ume |
GM:
Why couldn't the man's apology quieten her down entirely? Maybe because of her mother's family, and their predisposition towards action on the basis of urge, instead of tactical thinking. But there was nothing to be done, the matter was closed.
Maybe some reading would take her mind off things, until her kinsmen returned. That, and it provided a convenient reason for her staying in her room. So she took the excerpts from "Victory" she had been studying, and opened it up where she had left the thin silken marker.

Not waiting for an answer, he approaches one of the monks, bowing low, and says, "Forgive me, monk-sama, but if you please - who is that woman of the Crane Clan? Surely she must be blessed by Benten himself to be so beautiful!"

'Which task, Kie?' The other thought and voice intruded upon her prayer and she looked around, startled. It was only her imagination that had put that voice into her mind though and she sighed, starting yet another prayer, but this one for a nice, quiet day without...interuption.
She brushed her hands off rather unnecessarily, a nervous move on her part. Without looking around, she started off on her walk again, once more wondering where the other Phoenix were.
'Surely I wasn't the only one sent? It can't have been, there must be other representatives of the clan...'

Daidoji Yasuo tucked the note into his kimono as he heard the rather loud and impolite noise. It was a woman's voice and her volume had invited investigation. Daidoji Yasuo left his room and strolled towards the direction in which the apparent ruckus had come from.
It has currently turned 9:51 AM where I am located.

Considering that this is the first time, you may re-roll with Void this one time.
No worries, I had read about void and knew that's how they were meant to be used. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something about them, being this was my first time. So I'll take my lumps. No reroll. FYI-it was 12:44 here (mountain time) and I went to bed :)

Bayushi Tatsuya |
Radavel and Tirishu
As Tatsuya noticed the woman his eyes narrowed a bit in thought. She was truly beautiful and he had to wonder if she was a native to this village or just another representative. However he kept his focus off of her directly and more in the general area she was in so that he couldn't be accused of staring at her.
When Tirishu spoke to him his gaze snapped to the Mantis. "No, I've never seen her before. I haven't spent enough time in the courts for that to help me. If she lives here they might..." It was only after a few more words he realized he was talking more or less to himself, Tirishu having gone over to the monks. Chuckling softly Tatsuya followed him over to them and gave the monk a low bow. "If not blessed by Benten, the blood of Doji runs strong in her family."
When he heard the monks words he turned to Tirishu and gave him a slight grin before leaning in to speak. "Perhaps some close ties to the Mantis clan are in order for a certain Crane." Pulling back he winked at Tirishu looking clearly amused.
Moshi Tirishu |
Radavel and Tatsuya:
Before the two leave the shrine, though, Tirishu takes a moment to light some incense and offer a prayer, and who can say whose face he sees as he prays?
Rising, he rejoins Tatsuya, and they move back out into the street.

Daidoji doesn't pull any conclusions from the appearence of the disheveled man from the room of the lion. Though he tries to judge if the "Stop!" had come from there and the Lion had to teach the gentleman a lesson. He waited a moment before stepping into the hall and strolling in the direction from which the loudly noise had come from.
Bayushi Tatsuya |
Radavel and Tirishu
Tatsuya chuckled softly and nodded his head a bit to Tirishu. "A bit of levity to keep the mood light never hurts." He said no more, praying nearby to him and lighting incense to the woman who clouded his thoughts. However when they got back outside he looked to Tirishu with a small smile.
"To be honest it was not just teasing my friend. I believe firmly that a Samurai should hope for the world. Hope is a very powerful part of our lives. Even if something is to never come true the mere ope that it might is usually enough to keep us going. Hope that we survive a battle or at least die gloriously, hope that someone who we... admire can be ours someday, hope to attain rank and station and so on. Contentment with what you have is all well and good but it never hurts to wish things get better."
Shrugging a bit he looked around the city. "Hope is a very strong weapon. Say for example someone was to hope that by winning the Topaz Championship their lot in life might improve or someone who they wished to train under might take note of them... These are very much the people to watch for." He continued to walk with Tirishu as they spoke, looking around the city and wondering just what exactly lay in store at this tournament.
