Are you buying a Bialetti espresso maker, too?

Maybe pickin' up a Motorhead album?

Or a Sawzall reciprocating saw?

Uvex protective eyewear?

Keep naming things and you might hit somethng I don't own...

(not entirely true, I have no use for the expresso maker...)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

I jess want me sharpening stone ... :(

I really do have a Bialetti.

I have a problem with initiative in gunfights.

I'm thinking of giving handguns a +3 to initiative.

Assault rifles +2

Rifles +1

Heavy weapons, anti-materiel rifles +0.

What do you guys think? Changing from one to another may affect your init order.

So long as I get a desert eagle with some hollowpoints.

What are the chances we all take levels in the gunslinger advanced class?

The way society is going I'm thinking more "Road Warrior" PrC from d20 Apocalypse. ;)

Sounds reasonable. You'd need to be moving pretty darn fast to hit someone with a crowbar before they could get their gun up and shoot.

Woo Hoo... and that was my 500th post as flash_cxxi (my PbP toons bring it higher).

Yay me! =)

Lose the bonus when you begin a round engaged in HTH combat.

Bonus is determined at the beginning of the round. If someone drops their pistol, quick draws a rifle and fires they get an advantage for one round, but I think the benefits of this will outweigh that one quirk. I'm pretty sure I don't want to get into changing init in the middle of a round.

Handguns: +3 to initiative.

Assault rifles: +2

Rifles: +1

Heavy weapons, anti-materiel rifles: +0.

Lose the bonus when you begin a round engaged in HTH combat.

Any suggestions?

Yes. Maybe you need the guidance of the Colonel.

There is also a D20 modern PrC called two-fisted god of guns from Dark Inheritance.

In case you missed it, I decided using this is MADNESS once I started working it out. It's just too much trouble for me to make an effective weapon speed mod.

Anyone seen this film?

Yep. Saw it when it came out, and my wife and I just watched it again (first time for her) three days ago (she loved it). I think I actually liked it better this go around. The first time I saw it I described it as "The funniest movie I didn't laugh during." Now that I watched it with someone fun I can ping reactions off of, it was perfect.

Yah, I've seen a DVD rip of it. It was funny, but any funny zombie movie has to compete with Shaun of the Dead, and it just didn't have the laughs to get me up there.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Thought I'd drop this little fun trailer on the thread. I LOVED this remake, thought it took the genre and updated it nicely (though running zombies make me shiver) Dawn of the Dead 2004 trailer

must watch...

I dunno... 'Dead Alive' was f&#$in' awesome.

Spoiler:
The best part was when it made fun of Evil Dead II. Lionel bursts through the door in perfect Ash form- except instead of a chainsaw, he's got a f@~*ing LAWN MOWER.

Hope everything is OK there Radavel. Living by the coast I fear storms like that.

Gotta see it.

<====watching Land of the Dead.... the name of their truck is "Dead Reckoning".

Hehe.

"Charlie, why do you lick your rifle?"

"Catches the light."

"I don't want to be out here in a car without a roof."

Too bad you didn't have a convertible Patrick. That would have been fun.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

One thing bugged me about Land of the Dead:

Fiddler's Green was the only known human holdout, yet Dennis Hopper's character was worried about money. He ran the entire show there, but he was concerned about USD? Was there even a US left to back those scraps of paper? He shot his minion and ran off with suitcases of cash? Where exactly was he going to go? The Cayman Islands? It seemed a little contrived, kinda like Romero was trying to make a social point at the expense of versimilitude. That kinda stuff bothers me.

Yah it had some major lameness. Like they could build some zombie proof barriers....

And really, the truck was, to quote some of the punks I play FPSs with... well... gay.

Sure they can. Just build one like the Chain Link Fence that holds out the Zombie Hordes in Resident Evil: Extinction. ;)

I don't buy this thing where everyone lives in the same place and lets some dude boss them around. I'd head for Montana and ride the highways, myself.

And the supply runs were weak, man. Those zombies were shuffling pussies, I could make it across town on a mountain bike.

I thought so! The whole time I was watching it I was getting more and more concerned for our party's health... hmmm, that first one we fought in the alley, was it still light then?

Hey I kind of missed it (in the movie) where had that woman and her son been hanging out for three years?

I think they were on a ship when the infection hit. How they got to NY I don't know, but they must have had a fast car.

Yes. Approaching sunset.

Have we discussed action points?

Bro I give it highest marks. A real page turner, and although I worship at the New England chapter of the Our Lord Stephen King Apostolic Church, the last few books before it ...hmmm ... weren't all that good. This one: Buy it. Action gut punches you on pg 4 and grabs on to your brain like a pissed-off Pit Bull that just ate its owner's meth stash.

Hey guys,

This is your Dagobah. The Colonel, Jack, and the dude you're going to meet downstairs: they're Yoda, Obi-Wan, Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez, or whoever... It's all the same: the mentor archetype.

You'll come away from this with some new skills, so if there is a feat (feats) you see your character having let me know, they're going to be free. I'll pick them if you want, they'll probably be stuff like weapon focus and double tap.

The tutelage has begun, have fun with it.

And by the way, for everyone who knows Campbell's Hero's Journey - the next archetype up is often the underworld.....

MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

personal firearms proficiency also appears to be needed.

That will be the first free feat for Johnnie, Mike, and Sarge. There will be two for each of you.
