I cannot catch a break here, bear with me, I should be back to posting normally by next week.
Thanks.

FYI, getting a lil visit from Ida, on the anniversary of Katrina, (AKA my daughters birthday.) ;P
Sooo,... running away/hunkering down/preparing either way.
I may be out of touch for a couple of days. Hopefully not more than that.
;)
Yes, my daughter has had a hurricane on her birthday for (Either ON or the date next to it, effectively canceling her party) since she was 5 or 6.
She says, "God thinks we have a running gag going. But He's the only one laughing!" ;P

Be safe Rags!
Yesterday I drove a moving van full off stuff four hours through this. Probably in the top five bad driving experiences of my life

Ragadolf |

Wowsers, I've driven through some stupid stuff, but that was an intense thunderstorm!
Glad you made it ok(?)! :)
Actually, I was packing to bugger out yesterday early AM, and then my wife turned on the weather channel and saw it had move (JUST a little bit) to the east. We eventually decided to stay. And now it has goen a littel further East, and is almost missing us entirely. :)
We will still get SOME of the weather, (and it IS bad) but we're on the outskirts of the West side, and with it further away we won't get much.
In fact middle of the night last night, My inlaws from Houma (Further south, basically where Ida hit land) called and asked if they could stay with us. 'IF it looks bad'.
At 3:30am they arrived. :P

Glad to hear it missed you Rags. Yeah that was probably the worst Tstorm ever I had seen, let alone driven through. The duration was the hardest thing, it was going at that level for three hours. Rain so thick at times I literally couldn’t see. And here I am driving a 12’ long moving truck full of stuff to the top down some very rural mountainous roads. It was intense

Ragadolf |

Thx all,
Well, teh in-laws have some property damage (They managed to get back into town today to check it out and try to help some friends and family)
As in, fence around a LARGE yard is all gone. Some oak tree(s) fallen, and some roof/rain/damage.
But house is essentially intact, so not 'rebuilding from ground up' or anything. And for sure better off than a lot of others!
Yeah, driving through bad weather can be VERY scary. And I'm nervous enough just driving a 12' truck in GOOD weather! :P ( i dont like driving large vehicles)
I have, in my mis-spent youth, driven through some rain that was so heavy I could not see. I REALLY should have stopped :P
And I recall driving home from visiting a current girlfriend in HS during a very heavy snow storm.
That doesn't sound too bad, 'its just snow' ;P But we are talking snow so heavy only the heat from the old (NON LED) headlights kept the snow melted and from sticking to the headlights, and you could not use brights, because then all you could see was WHITE. It was driving with a giant piece of white paper stuck to my window. All the while you can hear the thunder and see flashes of lightning.
Oh, did I mention it was a THUNDERsnowstorm?!? :P
yeah, I was a 'good kid', and I still did some stupid stuff. :P
Meh, it was for a girl. So yeah, I'd prolly do it again. ;)

We're getting the crap kicked out of us in New York now, by Ida's remnants. The entirety of NYC on flood watch for the first time in history. New York, New Jersey Connecticut on tornado watch.
Sorry to hear that.
First time I ever (remember) hearing about the same storm affecting everything from Louisiana to New York! ;P

Storyteller Shadow |

For a hurricane to still have enough energy after traveling that distance over land to shut down the entire MASS Transit System.... nah...couldn't be
It's that Chinese or is it Russian? Weather weapon!

Ragadolf |

weather dominator?
Curses! I have been discovered!
Quickly! Move all operations to the secondary Island-Volcano-Backup-Lair!
Personally, apologizing for absence. Dealing with in-laws hanging out due to no power etc in their town, (Houma) and we OPEN our Show Xanadu THIS friday,... so,... feeling a little stressed.
I mean, a little more than usual. :P
Will try to stay caught up, but I am busy. And still get tired really easy since recovering from Covid. (Otherwise fine. slight lingering cough/sore throat. Just TIRED) So I not usually feeling up to playing on PC when I get home. Apologies for any continued silence.
I WILL keep up as best as I can!
Thank you,

I've been pretty out of pocket since July. However, I am going to try and stay in this one campaign. Hopefully running one campaign and playing one campaign will be manageable with what's been going on it m work and personal life lately.

Ragadolf |

Glad to hear it Shadow!
To feel nostalgic for old TV shows,
"Must learn balance Grasshopper!" ;)
(Says the aged wizzie who can't, actually, manage to do that himself!) ;P
Fair warning, RL is raising it's head again. I have a week-long show /rental moving in this weekend. Which basically means I'll be living at work until it is gone. Sooo,.... Yeah. Life IS getting pretty much 'back to normal'.
O_o
Have a good week/end all! :)

So my wife has had her spinal surgery (C4/C5 replaced) and is back home recuperating. Currently using vacation time for her recovery, (I'll likely extend it by a week).
Hope she'll recover as quickly as possible!

A wish for your wife’s speedy recovery Mark!
Everyone, I too have been ‘out of pocket’, since about mid-September. There are a lot of different reasons- several work, personal, family issues needed to be dealt with. Also, the recent revelations about Paizo and how they treat their workers left a very sour taste in my mouth. I was debating shuttering my games altogether. Today, I saw that the workers are forming a union, which I am very pleased to see. With that in mind, I am planning to take some time this weekend to crank my games back up. Thank you for your patience.

Hey all,
Apologies for my extended absence.
RL has been kicking me in the 'nuggets' lately.
Between dealing with 'back to normal busy' on top of 'still covid requirements', I have had cascading equipment failures, AND dealing with employer requiring me to get vax by 'deadline', but I have had the antibody infusion, so I CAN'T get the vax by 'deadline'.
Add to that a son who is having extreme self esteem and anxiety issues,...
Sorry, oversharing.
Point is, I am not ignoring the games, I luv the games and the characters, and the folks I share them with. I am just dealing with a lot right now. I will catch up as soon as I can. Promise.
Hope to see you all in -game soon!
Thank you,
~Rags

No apologies needed my online amigo.
This entire FALL (let's not even mention the year) has been,...
,... INteresting,... To say the least.
As long as you (and everyone else!) are OK, that's what's important.
We've all been through the gaming droughts before. I'll just appreciate it all that much more when we start back up! ;)
Just please do check in and let us know you're alright. :)
Thank you! And have a good week everyone!

<Thumps obviously defective time-manipulation machine>
Darnit! I said MORE time! MORE TIME! Not LESS time!
WHY would I ever want LESS time to get everything done!?!?
Excuse me, I'll be back once I've consulted with Scotty and The Doctor on how to fix this cockamamie thing!
This is the LAST time I order something from a catalog titled 'Intergalactic Discount Devices'! WHAT was I thinking!?!?

Ragadolf |

Hello all,
Well the 'Christmas USO' show that I got drug into is now over.
SO I am now back to my 'normal' insanity, and last-minute preparing for the holidays,..... :P
And,... there is another audition tomorrow.
:(
Not that I am even sure Me being in a show is possible this spring?
I am losing student workers at a ridiculous rate, due to covid rules they refuse to follow, graduations, and some going to the Disney College program! :P
BUT,... it's The Producers for crying out loud!
i Wanna do Nathan Lane's part! 'Max Bialistock' I think I have a chance. :)
Meh, whatever, I'm going to the auditions. I'll have all Christmas Break to figure out if I can actually Do it or not! :)
Meh, First-World Theater problems. How is everyone else doing? :)
