Given the recent lag, I propose that Cap takes a reasonable combat action for any PC if there's no post in a 24-hour period (e.g., by the end of a day). Opinions?
I'm trying to give 48 hours if more than one are waiting to post, once there is only one person left I'll give them 24 hours from the last post, or 48 hours from my last post whichever comes first. In 2 weeks I'm going on vacation to go to Gencon for a week (Aug 10-17) I'm going to try to get you to a area where you can roleplay, especially since we have new people coming in. Eric, I have someone looking over Branahm's sheet who may be interested in taking him over. I also have 2 others who have given me character ideas and/or sheets.

That schedule sounds reasonable to me.
I'll be in Michigan visiting family from Aug 6 - Aug 17, so I may be a little spotty on posting myself. Enjoy Gen Con!
As for the new player who wants to take over Branahm, I just sent you the most recent version of Branahm's character sheet, which includes the money from the last reward and the stuff that he bought for the necromancer's lair.

Here's the character I created.
In the pen and paper world. I DM a Shackled City Campaign and I play in an Age of Worms game. Since these looked like they would take us a decade or so to get through, I've been giddily ignoring all of Paizo's Golarian stuff up until now...trying to do a 'crash course' now: but lots to take in; limited time to do it...
So the jokes on me. Thanks in advance for your patience

No problem.... might I suggest a vist to The Wiki When you have problems finding something..it's no where near complete yet, but we have almost 2,000 topics about the world covered, just keep in mind there may be spoilers.
also thanks for putting the skills on the character page, not sure if you noticed as you looked through the thread so far, but passive skill checks I've been rolling in the background, and only telling people if they see/hear/know whats going one, and then its in a spoiler tag

Yes, I noticed and thought it was great - PbP wins over tabletop in this respect. I checked out the wiki. I've downloaded the players guide. I even have this AP (sitting nicely in a pile on top of the Second Darkness stack of books). Glad I decided not to read through in the hopes of having a chance to play one day!
I've never used invisible castle for rolling, so you can expect some clunky links early on (I just roll dice the old fashioned way in the other PbP).
Here's a try:test int check (1d20=19)
So, maybe no clunky links.

Welcome aboard to the three new players!
Boring bean-counting regarding Arius' profile:
I finally updated Arius to L3. I noticed a discrepancy between my personal sheet and the online profile (Enlarge Person on spell list rather than True Strike), so I modified the profile to match the sheet.

Everyone:
I'm on vacation from August 6 to August 16. I think that I will still have access to the site, but if I don't post for more than a couple of days, feel free to NPC Arius temporarily (or designate another player to run him). If you need to check the spoilers on his profile for his capabilities, go for it.
Immediately after my return, I'm beginning a part-time law program, so the same conditions apply. I'll try to warn you if I need to take a longer break because of the workload (e.g., before finals).

Howdy gang. sorry Ive been absent. As you know I sell cars for a living and with the slowdown of the economy things have been tight...with the Cash For Clunkers thing, our sales suddenly ramped up and they asked us all to put in some extra hours instead of hiring new folks, so we could be the ones to reap the benefits...so to speak.
a couple weeks of 12-14 hour days kills any desire to roleplay.
But Im back, things are stabilizing a bit.
Have fun at Gencon Cap...and Eric enjoy vacation.
Love Facebook for staying in touch with folks. easy and quick.

OK Cap I have a problem with Elizabeth brought about by one of the Rules changes from BETA to PFRPG.
Humans have lost their Free Martial Weapon Proficiency, something which I think is utterly stupid and was one of the things I thought was really good about the new Rules (seriously!!! considering that every other Race bar Half-Elves gets access to a few free WPs, is it at all that powerful that Humans get to chooose 1 Weapon to be Proficient in?). This means that she no longer has access to Martial Weapon Proficiency (Kukri), which in turn negates her ability to use Caress. I seriously do not like this rule (and one other concerning Sorcerers, but don't get me started on that one either) and since Elizabeth was semi-made to take advantage of this rule I am doubly not happy. What should I do?
Your thoughts please...

** spoiler omitted **
We can face these in a case by case basis.....
Thanks for starting the battle guys :) I'll post again in the morning

when do you want Characters converted to the final by? Keth will change quite a bit because of the change in Half Orcs.
and any chance of a map update?
oh yeah and welcome back Cap. Im glad you had a good time at Gencon!
Map update will be tonight. I'm going to start using the final stats for monsters when i get the subscriber bestiary in the mail... so anyone who has completed conversion then can use a converted version any time after that..

Dread, what do you think of the +2 Any ability adjustment for half-orcs? I think that I preferred the +2 Str/Wis, -2 Int adjustment that they had in the Beta (or maybe even +2 Str/Con, -2 Int/Chr).
Cap, I don't mind Arius losing the Martial Proficiency, as (1) he hasn't used it in-game and (2) it's not important for the character concept.

Cap, unless you are planning to roll for him, could I have the to hit/damage/SQ/AC of the owlbear skeleton? His combat turn is almost upon us, and I don't want to hold us up.
here the large skeleton statblock...
I was fighting with maptools all night last night... I'll post the next round without a map when i get to work in an hour and a half, then when I get home tonight I'll try the map again

Anju's Entangle spell has piqued my curiosity about several questions:
(1) Does Entangle create vegetation where none is apparent? If so, it becomes much more useful in urban environments.
(2) Are the PCs (and the owlbear) in the 40' radius of effect?
(3) Does an Entangle spell constitute an act that "threatens" the owlbear? This would break Arius' spell over it.
If (2) and (3) apply, this combat is going to get more interesting for us.

hmmm... I missed this post initially... I'll look into that... but i'm sure there are some sickly plants that were in the stomachaches of the dead bodies.. it gives them magic to sustain the quick growth, so the seeds should be all thats needed

The spell doesn't actually require plants all the time, I was actually thinking about the roots of plants that we might find underground. As for the owlbear, I forgot about him...I'm not sure how it would effect him because it doesn't do any damage and he can still attack if he is in range. Also, I believe you can limit how much it spreads because I've seen druids use this spell in the past without it hindering the party. It would make a battle difficult if all of your party members were getting entangled during a battle because you cast a spell that keeps grabbing them =p

Some research that I found on this spell if it matters:
Only creatures are entangled by the entangle spell but why is this so? What keeps plants enchanted by this spell from entangling each other and creating a field of knotted foliage? Well, after a bit of research, I learned that the spell compels plants to entangle anything other than non-sentient plants. With a bit of tweaking, a spellcaster can camouflage herself and possibly other creatures and thus be unaffected by the spell.
With a successful Spellcraft check (DC 16), you can alter your aura to appear as a normal plant for purposes of the entangle spell. For every additional creature you wish to cloak, add +1 to the Spellcraft DC. This can only be done while the spell is being cast. For the duration of the spell, successful use of this spell secret makes the affected creatures immune to your entangle spell.

That is cool and will be useful if Cap allows it. Thanks!

Where are we in the combat? I'm a little confused about who is up next.
sorry guys!!!! most of my posting time has been 10 minute stretches at work, where a good, descriptive DM post takes about 25.. especially after re-reading everything twice to make sure its correct
I will try to get a good post up by this time tomorrow
again - sorry guys!
