"Hrrrm....Holdrus, y'arright der, biggune?"
Schenker is healing arts challenged, so can only offer moral support.

For anyone poisoned:

Spoiler:
DC 10 Fortitude Negates (one save for each point of damage), otherwise 1d4 points Initial Strength Damage.

The Jankx between Ka-Chik-Chik-Ka’s shoulder blades claws madly; digging in and extending a tiny bone spur from its palm, the Jankx pumps debilitating poison into Ka-Chik’s avian form (1d20+4=22 ; 1 damage, plus poison).

The one-foot high creatures swarm Shenker with high-pitched barks, but he twists about madly, shaking all but two off him (1d20+4=19, 1d20+4=5, 1d20+4=5, 1d20+4=16, 1d20+4=9, 1d20+4=7, 1d20+4=19, 1d20+4=8; 2 Damage, plus poison.)

Closer to the hole, Aso bears the brunt of the stragglers rage, while the remaining Jankx identify Zuko as the source of the flame by scent.

Zuko: (1d20+4=19, 1d20+4=14, 1d20+4=11, 1d20+4=19, 1d20+4=16; 4 Damage, plus poison).

Aso: (1d20+4=19, 1d20+4=9, 1d20+4=17; 2 damage, plus poison).

Ka-Chik up :)

Just paste this in on my round if someone doesn't area effect them. If mine get roasted I'll move in to help whoever is in the most dire straits.

"Child's play" Aso bellows for the first time without stuttering, as far as anyone here knows.

Posion Save: (1d20+6=17, 1d20+6=11); Aso has 47 hps left, oh no.

Ignoring the nips and bites, and shrugging off their venom in his fury, he replies to their chattering with Mekillot bone.

Hittin' (1d20 +7=24)

Killin' (1d8+2=8)

Male Mul Warrior 4 (SRD generic class)

Invisible Castle is screwing up the rolls, adding attack to damage and double rolling. So I have to roll attacks separate from damage.
To hit 1d20+5=22
To hit 1d20+5=9
Damage 1d3+3=6
Holdrus shakes off the shards of his weapons and lashes out angrily at the furry varmints with his bare hands, connecting solidly with one mighty blow while missing with his second ridge hand.

Nice shots! I have terrible guilt about the weapons you worked so hard on, btw, but once things start rolling I think you'll mourn them less.

Female Aarakoras race adjustment+2; ranger 4

With a shriek, the the avian death machine whirls about in a frensy of combat trying not to sucumb to the poison.

Poison save; 4 (Ack!)guess i need to figure out my saves; but this fails i am sure :)
<tumble to surprize manuever and perhaps shake off the one on my back>
16 +7 = 23
<flury of claws and teeth and any other rolls as needed for attacks or concentration or whatnot>

If MalaKi is close enough to take a 5’ step and full attack the jankx attacking Zuko he will let loose with a flurry of blows with an off hand attack for good measure. If not, he will move and attack one of the jankx attacking Zuko

Full Attack:
Unarmed Strikes: (1d20-1=12, 1d20-1=13, 1d20-1=12)
Damage: (1d6+1=3, 1d6+1=2, 1d6+1=6)
Crap, crap, and more crap. At least I didn’t break my hand.

Move and Attack:
Unarmed Strike: (1d20+3=15)
Damage: (1d6+1=5)
Good Grief.

Don't worry about it, it's all in fun and improved unarmed strike will do for a bit. Just glad I got to use a skill that is "no fun for the game" according to WotC. ;P

Male Thri-kreen Monk 2 (ECL 6)

Hit the little buggers with two claws and a bite - having lots and lots of attacks rocks! Do these guys have more than 3 hit points each? The clawed ones get 6 hp each, the bit one 3.

M Human Fighter 3 / Binder 2

I forgot that Radik has Cleave.

The big man's swing continues unimpeded after pulping the first rodent, and strikes another in midair. Radik appears unfazed as the blood from the crushed jankx spatters his face.

Attack: 18 + 7 = 25; damage: 1d8 + 4 = 8

Not that it matters, you still scragged them, but we get a -2/-2 penalty on this bone weapon crap

Oh. Forgot. Well, that bumps my attack roll down to a piddling 23, and my damage down to a measly 6. Only double the thing's hit points, instead of triple - 1.

The upshot is that the Jankx may still be edible.

"Thanks for the janxs juice."

Aso should lick the goo off of Radik's face, to take maximum advantage of the caloric intake.

Male Human (Athasian mutant) Psion3/Wiz1

Faindriac's self-satisfied smirk fades when the Jannx turn and attack their attackers. He raises an eyebrow when the little rodents turn out to have hidden stingers with a probably virulent poison in them.

"Note: Never underestimate Athas' wildlife." He state grimly as he assumes a more properly defensive position. "It might not be the last mistake you ever make, but you'll probably wish it was."

After briefly checking to make sure that there were no Jannx in position to launch an unexpected attack, his brow furrows in concentration, and a shimmering field appears briefly around him before fading to invisibility.

Activating Inertial Armor, base PP (1) and bonus (+4), If Janx are in a position to AAO, I won't do it until I take a 5' step, if that will get me clear.

Male Thri-kreen Thri-kreen 2/ Ranger 2

If Kirrish sees anyone getting overwhelmed, he'll go help them out. Otherwise, he'll try to maneuver into a position where he can get off a full attack.

Skarsnikt wrote:

2 hp each.

Kirrish-Kreshk-Skiklik wrote:

Just kind of free forming placement this battle, since the little buggers would be a real pain to map out. Just assume you can full attack.

Zuko grits his teeth. He hopes he hasn't been poisoned.

Fortitude Saves (1d20+6=26, 1d20+6=24, 1d20+6=16, 1d20+6=10)

For some unknown reason, Zuko's attack seem to waver and falter.

Attack Roll and Damage Roll (1d20+5=9, 2d4=4)

Could it be that poison is now running through his blood stream?

This may be a triple post; the site ate my first two. Just waiting on Shenker's saves and attacks now.

male human lvl 6 +1la human; 5lvl rogue xp 15,00--21,000 next levelup

save 6+1=7; 6+1+7

attack 4+3=7; dmg 2
attack 6+3=9; dmg 2

Kha-Chik-Chik-Ka, trying to fight off the strength draining poison (Ka-Chik Poison (1d4=1)), flips onto his back, crushing the tiny animal beneath him, then begins clawing madly at anything within reach at ground level, slaughtering another three of the enraged creatures.
Not quiet as fortunate, Shenker finds himself barely able to lift his arms, bone weapons becoming impossibly heavy in his formerly sure grip (Shenker Strength Damage (1d4=4, 1d4=1)).

Seizing the initiative, Holdrus snatches up one of the creatures and batters it apart against Radik’s armor, staining the chitin an ugly reddish brown color. Zuko, shaking off the mammal’s toxin, blanches at the stink of varmint entrails and swings wide, missing his intended prey but luckily similarly missing his companions. Unleashing hell, MalaKi wades in, throwing punches and kicks with wild abandon, but finding only empty space as the Jankx skip aside nimbly and taunt the large warrior with shrill chitters.

Less than amused, Radik wades in, pulverizing one varmint before batting two more towards Aso, who, having dealt with far worse privations during his incarceration, easily shakes off the venom, and makes short work of the little beasts. Issiki, still ambivalent, decides to watch the perimeter in case anything should take advantage of the party during the burrow assault.

The Kreen warriors, stoic and unreadable as ever, tear into the little monstrosities, reducing the number of remaining animals to three (For Kirrish (1d20+6=15, 1d20+6=17, 1d20+6=17, 1d20+6=19)).

Following Faindrac’s withdrawal, the trio of living Jankx abandons their wild assault and scurry into the stony barrens with all the speed they can muster, hopefully to found a new colony, far away from the fire throwing, clawing, bloodthirsty giants.

For those poisoned: Shortly you will need an additional DC10 Fortitude save for the Secondary poison effect, also 1d4 temporary Strength damage.

The sun is rising, just let me know if you are camping or pressing on, and what you would like to do with all leftovers of the carnage.

(Well done everyone!)

I'll skin mine out, eat the bugger, and make a Davy Crockett hat out of it.

Male Human (Athasian mutant) Psion3/Wiz1

As the three remaining Jannx begin to flee, He takes a half step forward, and raises his hand towards them imperiously. Then, slowly, he closes his hand to a fist and lowers it. "Maybe there IS such a thing as 'overkill'." He mutters to himself as the remaining Jannx disappear into the wasteland.

Once more aloof and calm, he picks up his single Jannx, and deposits it in the center of their group, noticing with a raised eyebrow that his is the only Jannx not sliced, diced, pulped, splattered or otherwise mutilated.

Taking in the number of people who are or may have been poisoned, He walks over to Zuko. "Fire Priest. Zuko, are you well?"
After another quick glance around, he leans closer and says softer. "I'm afraid that my own knowledge of the healer's arts are somewhat,... limited. If you are poisoned, you need to tell me what to do now, so that we can take care of you. Otherwise the others are in a deep, dry well indeed."

I figure I could help (aka-aid another) to help Zuko heal himself. If that doesn't work, his telling me what to do should be a guaranteed success for HIS aid another for my heal roll! Whichever works! But I figure Zuko's the best chance the other poisoned people have got. So, 'Physician, heal thyself' applies here!

After all the heals/treatments/ect. are done, He shares some of the meat from his single, unmutilated Jannx, in return for someone's knowledge of skinning so that he can have the fur. :D

Radik traces his finger in a spiral pattern through the blood spattered on his armor. After daubing some of the blood on his face, he licks the remainder off of his finger.

For the first time since the escape, the big human grins, displaying a mouthful of stone-colored teeth filed into sharp points.

"Food. Strength."

After consuming the rodent entrails on the head of his club, he proceeds to rub the remaining bloody grime all over his head and upper body.

For those other than Shenker and Aso, it could possibly seem a bit extreme.

This one gathers up his quarry (well, the ones that aren't completely splattered) and takes a moment to survey the mess. He makes a strange, unsettling chittering noise with his mouth in the Kreen equivalent of pleasure/laughter while emitting a pheremone stench of roses. He begins to skin the rodents, doing his best to pull out the venom glands and other less hygenic intestines Knowledge: Nature or Survival check?. These he will either set on fire or bury in the sand. The little hides he will keep.

Declaration: Good hunt, clutch. Clutch eat well this night.

Query: This one cook jankx eat eat? Skin jankx, hide thin shell skin swatters? Or go city, try sell jankx?

Suggestion: Jankx home hide shiny good good?

Male Mul Warrior 4 (SRD generic class)

Relax Kirrish. He is not worth the anger. His type needs to win, to have control over an opponent's life. He is a gladiator, he was a slave to his master and trained to only know combat and killing. He was never allowed to control any aspect of his life except in the arenas. Some of us learned to do what we must with compassion and a measure of mercy, to team up with others to achieve a goal, which is why I was so good in team combats. I could've been him. I have the skill and lived the same life. I too was the best. His mind wasn't strong enough to keep his personality intact and so it became the cold-hearted killer you see here.
If you need to feel an emotion for him, let it be pity. Pity for all of him that was lost to a slavemaster's whip. Pity for the compassion that fled in the face of so much killing. Pity that he wasn't strong enough to keep himself from becoming what he is.
*turns towards the pile of Jankxs*
Now Kirrish, please, show me again how to score the legs so as to help skin this varmint?

Zuko wrote:

"Thank you, Faindriac, for your concern. Just a few scratches, nothing serious. Let's check on the others."

Faindriac nods his acceptance of Zuko's statement, and turns to the rest of the group. He addresses the Thri -Kreen who offered to teach others how to skin a Jannx. (He SPEAKS Thri-Kreen, they still all look alike to him!)

And says in Thri-Kreen:

(Chitter-Chitter,...)

Spoiler:

"Declaration: Teach thin-skins how to clean hole-dwellers good good. Kreen think of clutch first. This is good good for well-being of clutch.

Declaration: SOME thin-skins could learn much from Kreen. IF they could pay attention!"

When he notices Radiks' self decorations, and hears the warrior's brash statements, He opens his mouth to say something, closes it thoughtfully, and turns back to the Thri-kreen. He speaks to it in it's own language once more,...

(Chitter-Chitter,...)

Spoiler:

"Declaration: The desert wind blows hard, and can do much damage. But in the end, it is still only wind."

Faindriac turns back to the rest of the group to see if there are any he can help with a small, hard smile on his face.

"At least, he is no screaming 'Are you not entertained?!'," Zuko mutters under his breath.

Male Thri-kreen Thri-kreen 2/ Ranger 2

To Holdrus and Faindriac-
Suggestion: Gentle, sure with flint or claw can get hide with little damage. Stay whole. Use lots things. Start sides, or middle long way. He peels back the skin and holds the jankx by its head, using his claw to gently separate muscles and flesh from the skin. Wet, sloshy insides not as good eat eat; could eat...he holds up the liver...what called? Could eat; rest not as good. Watch this one he gingerly removes the venom gland; with one of his other arms, he digs a small depression and deposits the venom glands with the lower intestines..... (he proceeds to slowly explain quick methods of skinning, identifying which organs are good and listing dubious medical qualities and how to separate the bones from the flesh. The bug has done this before.)

Declaration: Wise words, city dwellers. This one heed.

Once he's eaten his fill, Aso throws the guts he removed in the hole and proceeds to imitate the bug in the jankx flensing.

Faindraic gently takes the weakly proferred Jannx from the obviously weak Shenker.
"Yes, their natural armor does provide a great benefit, and the extra arms do not hurt either." He guides the wobbly knife fighter to a stone. "Easy my verbose companion. You are injured. Sit and rest a moment, we can take care of your dinner." He turns once more to catch Zuko's attention.
"Priest Zuko. It would appear that Mr.,... Shenker was it? Is in need of your attention, if you would be so kind."

When (if) Zuko approaches, Faindriac murmurs to him, "He can't be hurt TOO badly, he hasn't stopped talking yet." With another tight smile, and returns his attention to the Thri-Kreen's skinning lessons after making sure there is nothing else he can do to help.

Male Human Level Adjustment +1 Rogue 1 Ranger 2 Sidewinder Monk 1

MalaKi ignores the inevitable post battle posturing and quietly goes about helping the others skin the jankx. During a lull in the bantering he says, “I think we should rest now and approach Raam tomorrow evening. I suggest we lay low.”
