This dude is my kind of god.
What sort of cookies do you like? We have bakers amoung us.
And brewers....
So sayeth Mike!
Cookies without nuts or coconuts (or cranberries... stupid medications).
Heineken is great beer, but I'm open to most kinds (if they're gross I'll pass 'em off to someone else, lol). :)
Wine is also good, as are liqueurs. ;)
Thus it is written!
Um, really, though, I just look forward to seeing everyone. :) And eating cookies. And getting drunk.
In approximately that order.

I know there has to be 20 more people out there that want to come....what do I need here, testimonials? Guest spot announcers? Dancing bears? Talking monkeys?
Well, the distinction here is between "want to come" and "can come". It's not my fault you're having your convention the month after I'm visiting the greater Seattle area.

UPDATE!
Only 39 days left until Paizocon 2008!
We now have 19 RSVPs (plus 2 spousal units that need to RSVP too) out of the max of 30. That's only 9-11 slots left to be part of the 1st annual Paizocon.
And we have Paizo staff and editors coming to talk with us...about.....stuff.
Did I mention only 9 slots left?

And the month before I'm out visiting the Pacific Northwest. :(

I'll split it with you. I would also like to spend my money on other things. Like spumoni. Yum!
Excellent. If you don't mind, I'll make a reservation for a two-queen-bed room, non-smoking, in my name.
If you want to plot details ahead of time, my email is c (dot) mortika (at) gmail (dot) com.

Guys, I am reading this thread for the first time and wasn't aware this was in the works. Anyways, I could definitely make Saturday and Sunday, but am currently scheduled to work that Friday. I will try to swap days around. Too bad I didn't see this sooner.
Supposing I do show up for just Saturday and Sunday, would that be OK?

Yep, way down yonder in New Orleans. I've signed up on the Meeting page. Just waiting to see if I can get Friday off to join in the activities, otherwise I will be arriving late that night. I was planning to go to GenCon this summer, but other circumstances made me have to cancel. This sounds like a viable alternative. Should be fun. We can test out the new Alpha rules.

If you prepay the $25 room fee, you'll get to be entered in a special prize drawing for this. (Still a work-in-progress, but going along nicely.)
Lilith that is awesome! I almost made a reservation on Saturday, but then my girl got sick & she spent three days at the vets. I do not think she will be recovered well enough to travel next week, but I will be there next year!

We have the Dates....April 25-27.
We have the place...LaQuinta in Kirkland.
We have 30 slots to RSVP.
We have some Paizo folks coming. And we have a new poll to help us figure out how big a block of rooms we need to set aside for those attending.
Funny...I just left Seattle after a five day journey out and a three day stint visiting local sites. I wish I could have timed this better.
Unfortunately I don't think my friend could have found a way to move out later.

*sniff* I wish I could go...
Psst!
Go and join the Meetup group, in prep for future Paizocons. If this one is deemed a "smashing success" and people want one next year, I can only assume that we will start in on planning one for 2009.
This one pretty much was put together in 2-3 months. I would hope that for the next one, we could spend 9 months planning it out.

Haha, I've holding off asking about 2009 because I didn't want to bug you guys too soon. Thanks for the green light.

Hey folks. Chris here, with an idjit question.
My plane is arriving this evening at 6:15 or so. By that time, people will be out eating or going to a local game store or something.
Where should I direct the cab? (Presumably not to the hotel, because I don't want to be sitting there alone all evening.)
Call me. (651) 485 - 5789.

Done. As your host....I will direct you.
FYI, anyone in a similar situation? If so, you should NOT take a taxi, but use Shuttle Express ($45) and have them take you to the Marriott in Redmond Town Center, where Todai and Uncle's Games is also located. I'd say that we'll be in the area until at least 9. If arriving after 9, well, just have Shuttle Express take you to the La Quinta, and get some rest for Saturday.

I don't know if anyone at Paizocon is reading the boards right now, but does anyone know whether there's still a plan to have dim sum tomorrow at Top Gun at 11? If so (or it's changed), please let me know here.
Mike, I'll be in the area. I'm not keen on posting phone numbers in forums, but if you drop me a line I'll give you a call:

Paizocon rocked! Had a great time and it was fun to meet everyone in person.
Con Dream Day Lineup:
Helping setup (takes a village, people)
Costco Muffins washed down with Costco Soda. Yum!
Q&A on Paizo products with what seemed like 1/2 the company.
Cool new never before seen art passed around & lots of spoilers tossed out (sure to be quoted elsewhere)
Lunch at Dixies BBQ with Lisa, Vic, Lilith & her SO, Tim, and Wolfgang
Back for industry Q&A with what seemed like 1/2 the company
Playing a PFRPG half-orc Bard in Jason's game (even if my drum did make people's ears bleed.. )
Costco Pizza washed down with Costco Soda. Yum!
Winning a copy of Stonehenge in the giveaway (seemed like *everyone* got something - do you guys have any inventory left?)
Playing DnD with Dario and having him use his Pact Magic book on us. (We managed to survive.)
Helping teardown (takes a village, people)
And lots of really fun stuff in between! I've been to a lot of cons and this was one of the best. What a nice bunch of folks!

Hurrah for PaizoCon '08!! What an awesome group of people all around -- great prizes, great gaming, and friendly folk. I enjoyed two fantastic games, one with James Jacobs (who the Great Drool Monster Aurelia found quite entertaining, judging by her giggles) and one with Dario at the helm (and, alas, I'm still dying to know what was going on with the missing women in Hope...at least the rest of the city is safe for now).
A huge THANK YOU to Paizo and all of the contributors who joined in the fun! And also to Tim and Liz and everyone else who helped organize the Con and make it happen! Can't wait to mark PaizoCon '09 on my calendar!

Back home after another fun day of plane travel through Chicago O'Hare.
The convention was terrific. Thanks Tim. Thanks Liz. We owe you, big time. Time, let us know when you finish all those pretzels.
Thanks to the Paizo folks who took time out of their schedule to chat, answer questions, and try to kill us.
Thanks to Trent, who managed to haul his posterior out of bed at 6:00 this morning to get me to the airport, and actually managed to provide a nice narrative travelogue of the Seattle area while driving.
And Kevin, when I look in the back of the Pathfinder modules, I will never think of Harsk the same way.
Only 11.75 months till PAIZO-con II.

It was definitely a good time. I did what I could to keep the chat room looped the gist of what was going on in the panels - with any luck, that log will get posted soon.
Thanks to Tim for all the hard work organizing, to all the Paizo staff for spending valuable time with their fans, and all around in general. It was a blast. I'll be there next year!
Timitius Wayfinder, PaizoCon Founder |
Thanks, everyone. I'm glad everyone had a blast. I wish you all would have eaten more, though...
<<looks at the multiple bags of chips, 3 pizzas, and many sodas and beers that came home with him>>
I've posted a few pictures up at the meetup space. Cosmo and others were taking far more pics, so I expect to see "candid photography" (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) up soon.
I'm going to give this a few days to settle, and then we'll start up talks for Paizocon II, OK?
