Male Halfling (Athasian) Psychic Warrior 4

You respect the Spirits; you have my respect in turn.

That and plucking all those feathers would take too long. I kid, I kid!

We finally get a chick and it's a frickin' egg laying bird. Very funny, Vale. Very funny.

Well, maybe there was some truth to the earlier comment about us eating the first female we meet. Tastes like chicken baby.

lol; I just realized that my toons name is a reference to a Sonny Chiba martial arts movie; where he as a guy who would comb his hair before a fight; then snap the comb in half; the sound of my characters name would ensue; then he would kick serious booty. how weird is that....

Dark Sun omelette? Beats iron rations.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

makes you really wonder if that sort of thing happens in peoples games; would be cannabalistic you know...course we would need a minotaur for some milk for cheese.

Liberty's Edge

Manwolf Werewoof testing upper middle class twit 5

Cheese is a little more invasive I think. ;)

It's also used in that Ferris Bueller song.

And it's a pun.

Great name.

Sonny Chiba rules.

Ok get this,

I am IN class, at a Chinese University, posting this. The students are working away before me while I surf browse Paizo.

I so love the internets.

The moment of glory will be when I actually get to make an in-game post WHILE I am "teaching".

=)

Fine. More omlette for me. Eggs is the tasty.

@mwbeeler-
I decided to take you up on your earlier offer of adding the Psion/Wiz levels. I'm going with the psicrytal. Despite this character's refusal to rely on 'others' and disdain for manufactured items, technically, as the Psicrytal is a fragment of his own personality, he is relying on himself, even if it is something that can be taken away. (And, disturbingly, it will be the one 'true' friend that he has ever had!)

And, the chance to do scenes where he is seen arguing with himself is just too good to pass up!

So, Psicrystal. When he wakes up and realizes that it's not there, he's gonna be,... perturbed. :)

This is gonna be fun! Updating character.

Male Humanoid Expert 2 / Magewright 1

Awesome. Just woke up. Technically, it is still my Sunday, but I feel really not bad, and the house is buried under snow, so I'll start up the first game post some time tonight.

Well, I couldn't possibly tell you how interested I am in finding out why you needed an even number, and what 'reciprocity' means.

And just in case we find ourselves in bad straights, I just want the rest of you to know that I won't hold it against you for eating Aso. I hope we can all sustain the same detachment, because you may be Aso's next meal too.

Liberty's Edge

Male Mothman Expert 5

I’m sure the even number is somehow tied up with the “reciprocal” theme … and I’m sure Beeler has some grand, crazy, cool idea he’s looking forward to subjecting …uh, treating you guys to. (I’m guessing it will be along the lines of being paired up with – or paired off against – each other…)

Seriously, this guy is a creative, cool and crazy (in a good way) DM, you guys are in for quite a game I would imagine.

Male Humanoid Expert 2 / Magewright 1

Thanks for the vote of confidence!

I’m eager to see what how you feel about my interpretation of Penkus in the other game. Probably have to wait until after vaca., but you might yet make it there.

I almost forgot! My “Critical Hit Deck” came in the mail Saturday.

Oh, I work 7am to 4pm. I'm up feeding the baby.
I'd be really screwed tomorrow, except they're adding software to our camera, so I don't have patients until 11 a.m.

Sadly I've never played in a DS campaign, but I do own the original setting, I just could get my Champions obsessed friends to THACO.

But I always pictured it as the sort of game where you make two characters, because, well... someone's gonna die.

Kruelaid wrote:

James alluded to it earlier in the discussion. The original set used to play with a “Stable” of three characters that gained a fraction of xp as you did. You knew you were going to bite it, so you had a character ready to go when the inevitable occurred.

By the way, arcane casters: If you want to do something you shouldn’t be able to do (eschew materials, eschew xp, free metamagic, recover spells); just ask, and I’ll make it hap’n, cap’n!.

hey Serious, I cousin is a bird named RoeBuck; you should start a merchant company with her; you could call it Serious and RoeBuck; has possibilities :)

Die? what..uhm, we are uhm...not uhm...immortal? Guess that explains the lack of gear; lol :) its all good.

I am really curious what storyline your gonna hang out to get us all together; looks like a challenge to me; didnt really make this chick to be all gladatorial with other players hehe.

Seiously other team members; do you want me to keep my impoved init or shall I drop it for something else; with group init; with it I give a +10 init bonus; without it the pokey sticky rouge gives +8 which is still pretty good; I been heming and hawing over whether to change it to a fighter type feat.

GM: any advice on my favored enemy; something that will fit into the game; I dont remember what enemies are in dark sun, but I remember that they were very different from other games.

My thoughts on the initiative thing is this....if we are boosted more of us go before our foes so having a bunch of PCs with improved initiative is a good thing. We all share one roll but with people going at +10,+8,+7, all the way down to 0 or negative initiative modifier will mean that even if a foe rolls fairly high there is a good chance that one of us can react before it does. The more that do, the better.

My thoughts.

Human, Elf, or Mul isn't a bad choice, nor is some sort of undead. You might meet a gish or two, but not enough to justify choosing them.

This simple, innocuous statement ranks right up there with,

"No Luke, I am your father. Join me, and we shall rule the universe together as father & son!"

In other words, it sounds like an invitation to the Dark Sun,...SIDE! to me!.
:D

Yeah, I'm fairly certain that we would need to have some sanity left in the first place before you can be worried about us losing it!

See? No worries! ;P

Reciprocity... Hmmm...

Well, the reciprocal of 12 is 1/12, right? So...

OH GOD! ONLY ONE OF US IS GOING TO MAKE IT OUT ALIVE! MERCY!

Male Humanoid Expert 2 / Magewright 1

No way did you just bring math into this thread...

I meant to have the starter post up by now, but my wife had cabin fever bad and needed some alone time, so my son and I went down for a long nap. Going to run and grab some staple items and some Boston Market, then I'll have the post up before bed. ETA ~3 hours.

Male Humanoid Expert 2 / Magewright 1

Tada!

Thanks for being so patient.

I quibbled a bit, then decided I’m fine with you starting with spells. You just had no desire to use them on the trip. No material components, though.

Way passed my bedtime now, will catch up tonight! :)

Beeler,

Is it possible that Aso is fatigued, not exhausted. He has the ENDURANCE feat?

BTW: Fine Art of Reciprocity Thread = F.A.R.T.
