He smiles as he sees the bird"Of course not lady,he is a beautiful animal ,well suited for his companion, shall we go lady?"

Female Elf Druid 2

Smiling faintly the elven woman gently caresses her companion's feathers with her free hand. "Of course, but there's no need to call me 'lady'. My name's Vraelyn" She tells the other elf with a grin before starting on her way towards the inn.

Male Halfling Rogue/3

"Well I'm finally here", thought Talam to himself as he ran a hand through his hair. "Well before I try looking for any work here, I better find a place for night", with that made his way into town looking for a good bed and a hot meal.

Male Elf (Crying Leaf) Transmuter 1

Back inside the inn, Talacyst sits at a large table, bent over one of his many tomes. A partially eaten apple sits on the table next to him. "It seems odd," he thinks to himself, "but I think that I can actually work better amongst this hubbub than in the libraries of the Tower of Stars... I think that I could easily get used to this place." As he finishes his studies, he stows the book beneath his chair and looks about for his friends.

"Hmm, the Rusty Dragon, this looks as good a spot as any" Talam opens the door makes his way to the bar.
"Excuse me, but how much for a room and a warm meal" Talam asks as he jump onto a stool.

At first Coppertop considers continuing his rounds. After a moments thought though he changes his mind and decides to follow Etienne Nevar and the rest of the group over to the Rusty Dragon. The chance to spend some time with his friends (and smile at Ameiko) is too good to pass up.

Male Elf Ranger { Skirmisher} 1

as blackleaf enters the inn he ignores the stares he often gets and makes a line for the dining area "innkeeper ale!" he says slamming his hand down on the table "and a plate of what ever meat and bread ya have,I have a powerful thirst and have not eaten all day by Desna!"
he turns and looks to his companions "friends wont ya join me for a drink?" he turns to Vraelyn and says"shor sai shaji shaer shor ti baleil ?"

Spoiler:
will thou brake bread with me Vraelyn

Female Elf Druid 2

Settling Lightning on the back of one of the inn's sturdier chairs Vraelyn blinks a couple of times as she spots yet another elf. 'Over a century of only rare contact with others of elven blood, now two in one day?' She silently questions before shaking the thoughts loose and heading over to the bar.

Smiling faintly she responds to Blackleaf's question with a simple nod. "It sounds like a fine plan to me"

Fael climbs up into a chair and waits for a serving girl.
"Do you have any soup?" she asks brightly, "and some goat's milk? I like goat's milk best of all the milks. Oh! And some bread!"
She looks around at the rather large group she's been pulled into. This felt right. The gods had certainly wasted no time in putting her in place. Whatever was going to happen would happen soon, and it was centered around these people.

Flash back!

The recent past:

The group leaves the Rusty Dragon and heads over to the town hall following Coppertop. Once there you are escorted to the mayors office. Once in the room you see the sheriff who introduces you to the two ladies in the room. The first is the mayor, Kendra Deverin, she is dress in fine clothes, her hair is kept cropped short and has a very big warm smile on her face once you enter. The sheriff introduces the other lady as an "unofficial member of Sandpoint's town guard" which brings a smirk from the beautiful elven female clad in wilderness gear.
He introduces you to the ladies as "Sandpoint's newest crop of heroes." The sheriff explains to you Shalelu here has been a thorn in the side of the local goblins tribes for years and that few in the region know more about them than her. Also we are not the only ones that have had goblin troubles. Their have been raids all along the Lost Coast Road, particularly in the dale between Nettlewood and Mosswood. Only a day ago, a farm south of Mosswood was burnt to the ground by a group of goblins and thankfully Shalelu was nearby to help save the family. The sheriff then turns to Shalelu and gives her the floor to speak.
She stands and says"Belor's told me of your work against the goblins--well done! I've dedicated the last several years of my life to keeping them from causing to much trouble around these parts, but they're tenacious and fecund little runts. Like weeds that bite.
"Anyway, there's five major goblin tribes in the region, and, traditionally, they're pretty good at keeping each other in line with intertribal squabbles and the like. Yet from what I've been able to piece together, members of all five tribes were involved in the raid on Sandpoint. A fair amount of the Mosswood tribe goblins I dealt with yesterday were already pretty beat up, and there was a lot of chatter about the 'longshanks' who killed so many of them. Now that I have met you , it seems obvious from their descriptions who they were talking about. Seems like you made an impression."
"In any event, the fact that the five tribes are working together disturbs me. Goblin tribes don't get along unless they've got something big planned, and big plans require big bosses. I'm afraid that someone's moved in on the goblins and organized them. And judging by these recent raids, what they're organizing seems like bad news for all of us."

She sits down and takes a drink of water. The sheriff stands again and statesI'm going to Magnimar with a few of my men to see about securing additional soldiers to help out Sandpoint for a few weeks. While I am gone I have asked Shalelu to sniff around Shanks Wood, Devil's Platter, and other places where goblins live to see if she can discover anything else about whats going on. And I would like to ask you fine heroes if you would keep a public presence in Sandpoint while I am gone? The locals have seemed to have taken to you...

Rel stands and shakes the sheriff's hand. I'm sorry but I must decline, I am a wanderer and traveller, I must be moving on to other places. I am really glad I was able to help this fine town out and who knows where my travels will take me and I might be back to help.
With that said Rel shakes all his new friends hands and departs the mayor's office.

Caerival gets up next and says I too must decline, after hearing all this news I have to go back to the Shank Wood. It is my real home and they are going to need my help. I hope you all understand. He also shakes everyone's hand and departs.

The sheriff looks at everyone else, seeing no one else leaving he says Well I still need to go and get more help for the town. You might want to recruit some more help to keep an eye on things while I am gone since I will be taking most of my men with me. There are a few able persons who might want to help. I wish you all luck and I will see you when I return. The sheriff takes his leave as does the mayor taking in soft tones.

Shalelu leaves with you. She talks to you as your walking out the building. I will be staying at the Rusty Dragon tonight before I head out so if you have any questions we can talk later tonight. Thanks again for you help. She walks off to attend to her own business..

Game on gamers! I'll leave it up to the originals to finish bringing in the new pc's.

Etienne turns to the newcomers, "Welcome friends to the Rusty Dragon."

Blackleaf downs his ale wolfs down a hunk of meat then looks over that the man speaking "thank you friend for the kind greeting"

Talacyst sits up as he sees Etienne entering. He steps across to greet him, then seems somewhat taken aback by the crowd of unfamilar faces. He quickly smiles as they approach, somewhat distorting the runic tattoos on the left side of his face. He says, "Good morning, all of you! I'm sure Etienne has been making himself useful. I'm Talacyst Aravar, from Crying Leaf. I've studied at the Tower of the Stars, and am here to further my studies."
He breaks off for a moment, doubling over and coughing badly into his sleeve. After catching his breath, he straightens and says, "I've only arrived a few days ago, so I'm afraid I don't know any of you."

Vraelyn bows her head lightly to the elven man as he introduces himself. "It's a pleasure to meet you Talacyst, I'm Vraelyn" She introduces herself gently "And that's Lightning" She adds quickly, with a bow of her head in the direction of the storm roc happily resting on the back of a chair.

As he coughs into his sleeve her eyes grow concerned. "Are you alright? I have some experience in healing if you need any help.." She offers with a small smile.

“It was some time ago, I was only eight”, Talams eyes move from the smiling woman to somewhere else, another place, another time.

The mid-morning air was thick with the smell of fish. “Now you promise not to tell your mother”, Fredick looked down to his step-son, Talam, a cheery-eyed halfling, smiling up. “I promise dad, I mean Mister Shalief”, Talam bowed as he addressed his father.

Fredick had purchased the halfling boy a year ago, at a slave auction. When the boy was brought home he immediately became a member of the family. But this being Korvosa, meant halflings were thought of as nothing but property, and the idea of adopting one was unheard of. To make matters worse if someone were to find out about the life Talam was given, they would surely try to take him. Selling him back into slavery, or even killing the boy. So when Talam accompanied his family anywhere it was in guise of a slave.

The two walked down the docks until they reached their destination. “Lucks Way, this your boat right Mister Shalief”, the young halfling looked up to father. “That’s right, and today’s a special occasion. With it being your eighth year, it’s time you learned the family business.” Fredick’s eyes turned from his boy, to the boat.
The Shaliefs were one of the, if not the most, profitable fishing family in Korvosa. And the “Lucks Way” was proof. The entire boat was made of a beautiful reddish-black wood, along with mithral trimmings.

As the pair came up the ramp, a voice rang from above “We’re ready to ship out, sir!” The voice belonged to Reifon. “Hey Baldy-baldy!” Talam shouted at the hulking man. Reifon, was a tall muscular, and bald shoanti. From what Talam knew Reifon and his father had been friends for years. “Baldy!” The hulking man walk down the ramp to meet the two.
Reifon reached out and picked up the young halfling by his scruff. “I’ve got a good mind to throw you off the boat while we’re out to sea, but then how would I explain that to Fredick”, the tall man chuckled as placed Talam on his shoulder. “Your cruel Raif”, as Talam smiled back at him.
“Let me get settled in and well be on our way. Why don’t you go show Talam the ropes while I get ready” Fredick patted his friend on the arm and made his on deck. “So where do we start, Baldy?” Talam laughed as he leapt from his perch and ran aboard.

Talam sat with his back toward the mast. It had been two days since they left Korvosa, and he was bored. During his time onboard he spent his time learning his way around the ship, how to drop and retrieve fishing traps. To make matters worse no fish. All the traps came back empty, and it was starting to take a toll, not only on Talam, but the rest of crew.
“TALAM!” Reifon’s scream broke the silence on deck. Talam smirked from his resting place. Earlier he had setup a bucket of bait over Refions quarters. The few hands on deck cried in laughter as Reifon emerged from below deck covered in the foul-smelling stuff. “I don’t care what Fredick says, I’m dropping you the side!”
“Ah, come on Reif, can’t take a joke”, Talam asked as he jumped from his spot, and began running.

“Got ya, boy!” Reifon had finally caught up to the halfling, when he took a spill running towards the bow. “Now to make good on what I said”, as the towering shoanti bent down to pick up Talam, he noticed the boy was frozen in fear. “What’s the matter...”before he could finish the sound of clacking claws and an otherworldly screech came from in front of them.
“Captain, we got Reefers!”

"Some how my father had sailed the ship into a harem on reefclaws", Talams eyes returning to the lady. "That's how I got this", pulling up on his shirts sleeve he reveals a scar running up his forearm.
"If Reifon hadn't pulled the blasted thing off me", Talam sutters at the thought.
"After that I don't remember much. Reif took me below and when I woke we where home. From what my father told me they were able to sail out of the harem without too much trouble. They also made a profit by bringing some reefclaws back to market", Talam rubs the scar on his fore arm.
"The only thing that still bothers me though about that day is, while I was at the bow I could have sworn I saw something. Like a huge shadow moving under the water."

After eating her soup and bread and finishing her milk (all consumed with obvious pleasure and as if she hadn't eaten in a while), Fael contentedly pushes the bowl and glass away. Looking around at the large group at her table, she says, in a tone of voice that belies her young age, "So... something bad has happened here, and is still... happening?"

Male Elf (Crying Leaf) Transmuter 1

Hmm, my earlier post seems to have been eaten. Well, Blackleaf quoted it above, in case someone's looking for it.

Talacyst beams at Blackleaf and Vraelyn. "Ah, it's a pleasure to meet you both. I, too, have seen few elves since I left the Tower. It's good to be among you now."

Vraelyn wrote:
"Are you alright? I have some experience in healing if you need any help.." She offers with a small smile.

The elf smiles, looking somewhat sad. "I'm afraid there's little that can be done. When I was young, I worked in the family workshop. The smoke or something damaged my lungs, and I've had some troubles ever since." He splits into a smile again, saying, "But this sea air seems to be doing me well! I haven't felt like this for some time..."

"But enough about me. What brings you two to Sandpoint?" Caught up with Blackleaf and Vraelyn, Talacyst does not notice the young human girl's question, or the excited halfling's tale.

Female Elf Druid 2

Vraelyn smiles sadly as Talacyst explains his cough. "I'm glad the air is doing you good, I shall look into possible remedies to help your healing as well" She tells him sweetly, but in a tone that underlined the fact that there would be no arguing with her decision to help him.

"As for what brings me here, I've always been here" She confesses with a light smile "Before Sandpoint was a town even. I keep to myself or am out in the wildernness a lot though.." She trails off, not wanting to go into how odd her life has been surrounded by humans and very rarely meeting other elves.

Male Elf Ranger { Skirmisher} 1

blackleaf looks at the coughing elf"well friend my ruja ki brought me here and many other places . well that and the ship in yon harbor" he laughs thunderously slamming his fist into the table" More ale for my friends !" he yells then wolfs down a hunk of meat and chugs down the rest of his ale

Coppertop takes in the stories and conversations with marked interest. However, he never makes himself comfortable. He stays near the door to the inn and on several occasions he walks over to the door and peers outside. He watches as Ameiko enjoys Talam’s story and he lets his imagination run wild as he tries to imagine what a “harem of reefclaws” might be. Fael’s question perks his ears right up. “Well, Fael,” he says, “ There has been a goblin uprising. Sandpoint was attacked in force and other towns and farms have been attacked as well. Sheriff Hemlock has gone to Magnimar in order to get some help and he has left Etienne Nevar, Talacyst, and myself in charge of Sandpoints safety in his absence.” With that he smiles broadly; his face the very picture of youthful enthusiasm.

Its been two days since the shriff has left. The town has been quiet and peaceful. Your group has been doing a good job of keeping the locals happy and at ease, your hero status has helped. It is early morning and you all are at the Rusty Dragon waiting for breakfast to be served. You are approached by an halfling female who is a maid at the Rusty Dragon. You all know her as Bethana, a timid eldarly woman who has been very nice and helpful during your stay at the inn. She is obvisouly upset. She begins by saying Ameiko is missing! in a rush. She takes a deep breath and starts again, I woke up early this morning to find that Ameiko hadn't started breakfast for the first time that I can remember. I was getting worried and went up to her room and knocked on the door but their was no answer. Against my better judgement I went into the room to find it empty and the bed unslept in. By the bed I found a crumpled piece of paper which turned out to be a note from her older brother, Tsuto. She takes another deep breath to calm herself and hand the note over to Coppertop who she knows the best of the group.

Hello, sis!
I hope this letter fi nds you well, and with
some free time on your hands, because we’ve got
something of a problem. It’s to do with father.
Seems that he might have had something to do
with Sandpoint’s recent troubles with the goblins,
and I didn’t want to bring the matter to the
authorities because we both know he’d just weasel
his way out of it. You’ve got some pull here in
town, though. If you can meet me at the Glassworks
at midnight tonight, maybe we can fi gure
out how to make sure he faces the punishment he
deserves. Knock twice and then three times more
and then once more at the delivery entrance and
I’ll let you in.
In any case, I don’t have to impress upon
you the delicate nature of this request. If news
got out, you know these local rubes would assume
that you and I were in on the whole thing too,
don’t you? They’ve got no honor at all around
these parts. I still don’t understand how you can
stand to stay here.
Anyway, don’t tell anyone about this.
There are other complications as well, ones
I’d rather talk to you in person about tonight.
Don’t be late.
Tsuto

Sorry for the delay I was having computer problems but all better now!

Etienne peers over the shoulder of Coppertop and reads the note.

"Glassworks? Where is that?"

Blackleaf looks up from his meal"the innkeeper has missing? In my lands to go missing is a grave thing.Friend etienne you have my ax " he says grabbing his ax from the table "yes where is this glassworks we will hunt there"

Spoiler:
I've played through this adventure before and so know a little about Tsuto. I didn't think about it when writing Vraelyn's background but now I think about it as she's always been at the Academy she probably knew Tsuto in passing years ago - but I don't want to be presumptuous so I thought I'd check with you how much she knows about him :)

Vraelyn waits patiently for the others to read the note before politely extending her hand to look it over herself.

Human Human Favored Soul 1

"Ameiko wouldn't run away, would she?" Fael asks, confusion on her face, "She's a nice lady. But... it looks like her brother thought that if people found out about the something her father did, then she'd get in trouble too. That might make someone run away..."
She looks around, uncertainly.

"Bethana, can you give us directions to the Glassworks?"

Male Halfling Rogue/3

"This is quite strange", Talam runs a finger over his brow. "I would normally stay out of family affairs, but something about this situation is odd", Talam turns to the elderly halfling. "Miss Bethana, do you know anything about Tsuto?"

I'd say you new him but did not run in the same circles as him. You know the basic scandal that surrounded him. He doesn't seem to be to happy with his childhood and he hated his father for sending him away I think. This might have made him kinda of loner type so you might not have gotten to know him that well!

The glassworks is one of the oldest buildings here in sandpoint, it is said it used to be a smugglers base. Coppertop knows where it is, he can show you, it overlooks the ocean.

Tsuto was something of a scandal when he was born 21 years ago, sinces he is a half-elf. Neither of Ameiko's parents are elves. It was obvious that old Lonjiku wasn't the boys father, and his rage at the discovery of his wife's indiscretion was the talk of the town for months. Lonjiku's wife Atsuii never revealed who the father was, and it's a testament to Lonjiku's stubbornness that they remained married. Tsuto was handed over to the Turandarok Academy to be raised outside of the Kaijitsu family, ignored by his father and forbidden visits by his mother. Tsuto left Sandpoint after his mother's funeral when he claimed that his father had pushed his mother off the cliff to her death. A confrontation between the two happen where Lonjiku nearly broke Tsuto's jaw with his cane. I am worried that he is up to no good and with the sheriff out of town my hope is you can find out what is going on and bring Ameiko back safe and sound!

"Coppertop, we must make haste. Miss Ameiko might need our help."

Male Elf Ranger { Skirmisher} 1

Gathering his ax up in arms "In haste we shall move then lead on friend"

Male Halfling Rogue/3

Talam gathers up his gear and gives a nod to the others, "Let's find out whats going on"
