About CoppertopCoppertop is a young man who stands 5'10" and weighs about 120 lb. He has pale skin, sparkling green eyes, and red gold hair. He is seldom seen without his trusty long spear. Coppertop, born Dylan Montero, is a life long resident of Sandpoint. He picked up the nickname less than a month after his birth as the mop on his head thickened and reddened. Coppertop is Chelaxian and recently celebrated his 14th birthday. He found work at a very young age as an apprentice wood gatherer and fire wood chopper. Long hours of chopping, splitting, and stacking wood has left his body lean and toned. He has helped to deliver wood to many of the residents of Sandpoint and has a pretty good knowledge of the layout of the town. The solitude of his work combined with the fact he is an only child has made him a bit of a lone wolf. The long hours of labor did not get him out of his daily lessons. His mother, Tasha took it upon herself to make sure her only son was literate and had at least a rudimentary grasp of history. It was during this time that she also explained to him the glory of the Chelaxian Empire, it’s disastrous fall and the death of a god. The death of a god!? How could a god die? Coppertop's parents were among a small group of people who questioned how a god could die. And if a god could die, could they really be gods at all? Coppertop grew up in a home that believed that “gods” were incredibly powerful beings that were in some way mortal. The death of Aroden proved the mortality of the “divine.” This sparked a life long interest in religions and divine magic for young Coppertop. Imagine his surprise when a couple of years ago, while tending the aches and bruises of his mother, he saw her hurts healing at his touch. He knew his life was going to hold more than firewood and Sandpoint. Coppertops studies of the various religions soon revealed to him that he was drawn to the good aspects of many of the gods worshipped in Sandpoint. He began to see himself as a defender of good and foe of evil. This revelation along with two events he witnessed as a child shaped him into the holy warrior he is now. The first event was a fight between a man and a pig. Actually it was a battle between a strong warrior and an enraged boar inside a makeshift corral during a summer festival. The brave warrior killed the boar after a long thrilling fight that ended with the boar impaled on the warrior's spear. As the crowd screamed with delight the boar pushed its mighty bulk up the spear in a last desperate attempt to reach its foe. After the boar died the warrior held up his long spear and showed the amazed crowd the crosspiece that had kept the boar from pushing completely up the spear. Such dedication to striking a blow at all cost! Since that day tusks have held special significance to Coppertop. He now uses a small tusk as his holy symbol. He is also using a long spear as his primary weapon. The second event took place at a different festival. Coppertop watched two men fight in unarmed combat. One claimed to be a Shoanti (although he wasn’t 7’ tall and his teeth didn’t drip blood) and the other was a monk who had traveled all the way from Tian Xia. The way they tripped each other with ease impressed Coppertop. He began to practice his trip attacks with his long spear on a daily basis. ESSENTIAL GAME STATISTICS Coppertop CR 1
