Oh, and by the way, in case any of you think YOU have stress...
My girlfriend sent in a submission (and didn't make the cut). Because we did blindly, though, I might be the person who rejected her submission.
Talk about stress...
I would uh...not cop to that.
Blame it on Walker.
. . . Always, blame it on Walker.

Yeah, that sounds like stress you don't need ... best that she never tells you what was in her submission!

Email is not always the instantaneous medium we think of it as... it could take an hour or more to get to you either way. Good luck man.

All acceptance and rejection letters have now been sent.. for real this time.
Check your inbox.
Congratulations to all those who advanced. Better luck next time to those that did not make it. There were a lot of really good ideas in the pile and it was quite tough narrowing it down.
And no.. a dart board was never used.

Ok, now I feel kinda silly. But in a good way. I got selected to advance to the next stage. Unless I’m the victim of an elaborate hoax or a mistake… that was honestly my first thought, but it seems genuine.
Thanks guys – I know this must have been a tough selection process, because I know I was up against some VERY talented people that I greatly respect – I highly suspect that it must have come down to some tough choices and possibly a few random dice rolls at the end.
Now to try not to think about the next stage and concentrate on this deadline I have for work this afternoon … (ha, yeah right).

This time I fail, but next time I shall triumph and then I'll show that accursed RICHARDS!!!
Wait... Is this the open call for super-villains, bad guys and ne'er-do-wells?
OH! The Open Call for adventure writers...
Damn, rejected in that too. Ah well. Could be worse. I could be one of those currently under the pressure to bedazzle with their outlines in the second round. Those guys are going to have it tough.

Here's a question I'd like to see answered about the submission process, if Mike, Jason and Jeremy are amenable to answering:
Did you have a preference for submissions that gave simple (but creative) bullet point answers to the questions you asked in the guidlines, or submissions that tried to frame the answers in a narrative, or something sort of in between?
(Also, congrats, Hill Giant)
Mike McArtor Contributor |
For those of us who still want to contribute, how would we do so outside of these open calls? i.e. How did some other people become contributors? And if we can't make the modules, how can we help otherwise?
Right now, we have no other means. I hear the Pathfinder team plans on opening up bestiary submissions eventually, but I don't know if that timeline will occur in 3.5 or after we switch to 4e (assuming we switch).
We don't have other contributors right now. We have writers we've worked with for many years who we commission to do work.

No preference. Just as long as you answered the questions we asked, we didn't care if you used haiku (but see the spoiler).
That's a lie. You would be rejected if you sent your answers in haiku form.

You are rejectedThis is what being an English major gets you... A love for haiku.
You, sir, get a cookie.
But only if you don't win this whole thing in the end, because that would be better than a cookie I would think.
