OW OW OW BAD PUN BAD PUN BAD PUN

I have decided to give my room mate untill next Friday to get me some money. If I do not get some money then, I will be looking for a new room mate at the end of the month. Unfortunatly, that leaved me over $1000 in the hole, plus having to find a new room mate. Also that forces me to get a part time job, not that I was not thinking about it anyway. But still...

work more game less...

that sucks.

Liberty's Edge

This motherf$!+ing cocksucking piece of s#~~ site. It makes me sick just to look at it. I found it on a link from slate.com provided on the "good things" thread, on the discussion about the prosecution of protesters at the funeral of a homosexual soldier. I generally don't swear that much, by the way.

Grand Lodge

Yeah - Fred Phelps is pretty much the worst person in the world. My main fields of study are wars and dictatorships, and I still have a hard time thinking of a bigger scumbag than him.

I feel bad that I clicked on the link and, thus, gave the page one more hit toward being the top google result on a search/getting more funding.

Liberty's Edge

That dude is an asshat.

Liberty's Edge

I feel like an asshat for posting that. Sorry guys.

Liberty's Edge

It's all good.

Just because that guy is a total SOB, does not make you one. He is the one doing that stuff, not you. Of course, if this were the middle ages, that guy would be burning "witches" and torturing the heathens. People like that are actually doing evil, despite what they say. ~shrugs~ And weak minded people just flock to those type people.

It's not your fault and I absolutely didn't mean that comment to reflect on you posting it. Just makes me sick, is all.

Why would we blame you for something you didn't do when there is plenty that you did do that we could blame you for, Mr. Shiny? ~GRINS~

Its probably already been posted, however I didn't read the whole thread so I will add my thoughts

And what's with all those clean-shaven guys. God would be pissed!

I have the answer to both 'Good Things' and 'Things in Life That Suck'.
I've put the answer to 'Good Things' in its thread, here's the answer to this one:
No power no power no power no power no power no power no power no power no power no power.

Awesome!!! So Forrest Gump is in hell.

Life is like a box of chocolates (chok-a-lahtes). By the time you get it, it's full of empty wrappers and that hard thing that's going to break your teeth if you try to eat it.

Oh, and not living up to your potential, sucks.

Woo hoo!! Six months of unemployment! I'm a human leech!

Liberty's Edge

Second-degree burns. Note to self: never volunteer in the Elks kitchen AGAIN--I'm a danger to myself and others.

That I live in a country that forces me to go to other continents to see decent sports...

My friend had a baby. Everything seemed fine, but the next night the baby died.

~sighs~ I am so sorry to hear that. You and your friends have my condolences.

James Keegan wrote:

~laughter~ gratz! I think.

(Best of luck on getting a job.)

...that sucks. :(

Mothman wrote:

Aw, man. That really blows.

Liberty's Edge

Yeah. It feels kind of surreal to me. I can't really think about it. I can't imagine what her and her partner must be going through, and don't know how to best lend my support.

The Eldritch Mr. Shiny wrote:

If it is larger than a quarter or has blisters that pop, go see a doctor. Burns have a nasty habit of becoming infected.

Mothman wrote:

I can't even imagine how terrible that would be. Is someone staying with them for suicide watch (not that they aren't strong people, but postpartum plus sudden infant death would do anyone in)?

My relationship of six years ended a few weeks ago, the day before I was set to propose. I made the call but that doesn't make it any better. Now we have to live with each other for the next year because we are bond by a lease we cannot afford to break.

It feels odd admitting something that personal yet it feels good to just get it out.

It's WAY bigger than a quarter, with blisters, but I've got a secret weapon: Red Cross first aid training. haHA!

If you can get it, lidocaine (plus a decent anti-bacterial) is sweet on burns.

Oh, lidocaine is my frieeeeeeeeeeeeend...I consistently blister from sunburns when I forget to put sunblock on, and it is a lifesaver.

People who get a hard-on for lower ranking soldiers to call them by their rank whenever unnecessary.

Okay, I know some of the other military people here are going to get on me about this, but what's the point of going up the chain of command to complain about a soldier from another unit being "disrespectful" because they don't address them by their title every thirteen seconds, only for their chain of command to contact the other unit, so that the message goes DOWN that chain of command so that the accused soldier's senior can reprimand them, but CAN'T because they have no clue why the issue arose in the first place, when the offended soldier can just reprimand the soldier while they are still in contact with the soldier?

... Yeah.

Liberty's Edge

I have an incredible ability to f@%~ up the good things in my life.

For example:

A woman I've been trying to get to notice me since high school finally does notice me. What do I do? I manage to convince to her that, basically, I'm a complete f@&#up. Which, in most respects, I am.

I suck at life.

Searching for colleges. At first I was into it, I was completelly willing to dig through the over-complicated web-sites to find out all the little exciting programs they may have. Now, if I have to click more than five times to get a list of majors I think "Screw you" and move on. I know that I might be missing out on some awesome university that I'd love, but I have a list already and other stuff to do with my free time.

Anyone planning to contribute to the creation or revision of a university web-site might want to suggest putting a big flashing *majors* link on the home page. Also, including information about courses right off the bat might be nice. All the other colleges have the one paragraph blurb on the subject too, so why should I chose your blurb over theirs? Only about 1/5 of the sites I went to did this. And I am starting to rant, so I shall stop... and resume the search *sigh*.

Grand Lodge

What kind of majors are you looking into? And what's your geographical focus, if any?

What are you interested in? As in, what do you want your career to be? Failing that, what do you want out of your college experience?

Sorry, done acting like a guidance counselor now.

I'm going for a linguistics major. I hope to be teaching english as a foreign or second language when this is over. No geographic focus, really.

Well, you can try that here at Maryland if you like. We have a good program for teachers. I can't speak for language programs, though. And to be honest, getting housing beyond your sophomore year on-campus will be quite hard.

Getting the "lets just be friends speach" then getting a lot of confusing advances over the next few weeks from that same person; that sucks and is confusing as hell.

Liberty's Edge

My birthday tomorrow. One year closer to death. I hate birthdays.

Liberty's Edge

Unrequited love. See my second post above this one.

Liberty's Edge

um ..... happy birthday?

And re unrequited love - does she (or he) know how you feel? Cos my (admittedly unasked for) advice would differ depending on the answer to that.

The Eldritch Mr. Shiny wrote:

That sucks. Been there plenty of times, happens to everyone. Honestly, the "I suck at life" attitude hurts your chances more than anything else. Not that I'm an expert or anything and not that I'm the most confident guy in the world, but being able to feign a positive attitude and confidence can go a long way.

That is very true. By no little amount of beguiling, most people find me likable and seem to believe that I have my s*%& together. We've all got nasty aspects of ourselves, but people don't want to hear about or deal with that until they are convinced that you are worth the trouble. From what I've seen, you definitely are, to someone.

Happy Birthday!
