Heathy, due to work pressure Sebastian has fallen by the wayside and can't participate in my Eberron PbP. When we discussed it briefly last time you said you might be interested. Is that still the case?

Dude, I can't hardly get my email at home to work right now; my computer's crapping out. I would if and when I can get a new 'box, but that might be a while. I don't want to create a logistical issue for your game.

I think most people, including me, post from work - I had a look at your posts yesterday and you were, shall I say, quite active. If you are happy posting from work on this (we tend not to do complicated stuff that requires the rulebooks, and if we do, we can delay until we can check at home) it shouldn't be a problem, and the Paizo website can handle virtually everything else. Up to you.

What the heck, I'll try it then.

What's the character? It's that halfling cleric, right?

That's the default choice, but you don't have to run with that if you don't feel the need - Seb went with Nox as the character was already there and I don't think he had time to roll one up, which may not apply to you. A healer-type would be a good idea, but it doesn't have to be Nox if you fancy someone else - the character has a sort-of-girlfriend, is on a sort of pilgrimage that doesn't necessarily major gnoll-thumping, and could drop out at any time.

Allright. I got 2 copies of the Eberron Campaign Setting (looooong story). I'll go home and look it over, and slap a cleric together.
I hear religion's a little different in Eberron, so I gotta bone up on it.
What level character, and what's the point buy?
Also, I don't cheat, but you don't know that either, so if you want to roll the dice for my attacks and whatever that's cool.
This all might take a day or two; I have a pregnant wife and two toddlers at home, so I never know what I'm walking into.

Hate to barge in like this, but would you be interested in selling one of those campaign settings on the cheap?

A couple of days is fine - nothing pressing at the moment. You might want to check the thread and see what gives plot-wise - to save time, only read the stuff in black and ignore the stuff in blue. There is also a summary in the discussion thread - most is just noise, but there is a sort of summary done for Seb when he joined. It is a little out of date now, but ok.

If you could do me a favour, try and think of a way to introduce yourself to the party. Maybe you know one of them, maybe even Nox. I have no problems with race (of your character, or course) and most stuff from the 3.5 supplements goes too.

Character level is 2nd, point buy is 32. You can make your own rolls - I trust you Heathy, it's those big brown spaniel eyes. Money is the full amount for a 1st level character, plus 225gp (you have some more cash coming as they have 3,000gp to share out, but haven't done it yet or agreed who is getting what). You can spend as much or as little of that as you wish. One of the characters is a paladin of the Silver Flame, so no mad cultists of the Dragon Below. To give you a steer, at the moment we have:

Valenar elf barbarian
Warforged paladin
Human rogue
Human ranger
Human wizard

This is primarily urban based, but there are significant exceptions to that rule (or there will be, anyway).

Religion isn't that different - the main thing is that the gods don't care if their clerics act in line with their deity's alignment (or the gods don't really exist - take your pick) so you never need to worry too much about Atonement and stuff. There are a few new domains with Eberron too. In the discussion thread, I did an Eberron summary which may or may not be useful (first couple of pages in the thread) and may help to orient yourself.

Tell you what--Jade's sending me a d.v.d., and I'll see if he wants it cos I can't think of anything offhand he'd want in trade for the d.v.d., but if he doesn't want it, I'll just send it to you if postage isn't too crazy. I also can't offhand testify to the condition of the book or if there's a world map or not, I can't remember, but I think there is somewheres; I have to look around.

okay, just let me know. I'll be on vacation next week, so if you are going to send it, send me an email (kenosaga@gmail.com). (No, I ain't afraid of no spam.) ;)
