Nice one mwbeeler! Heal up fast like Wolverine Mr! :)

Liberty's Edge

Pretty friggin' sweet.

Glad to hear you're feeling better. Now you need to make up all kinds of cool stories to tell people when they ask you how you got you're scar.

Good Thing- Finding a new bed and mattress eleven hours after your waterbed springs a leak at 2am.
Better would be next day delivery on the new bed, but on sale will certainly do.

We've got 'nuff folks around to say the right things at the right time and enough other folks to say the wrong things to make it interesting.

My son is doing well, at his checkup yesterday he was 32 inches tall at 11 months (he’s going to be taller than me if I don’t start feeding him coffee!), and received a clean bill of health.

I discovered that the best piece of crap I ever played (Shadowbane) is still around. Not only that, but it just had a major wipe and reboot (shame, I had gobs of stuff), is less buggy / broken / crash-laden) and is now FREE. Sweet! Especially in this economy. Now if only I had…time…rofl!

Oddly enough, I recreated my character, and within 6 seconds of login, I was getting tells asking if I was Craggin from Carnage. The last time I logged in was 2004! Apparently, I made an impression, hah.

You know, I've always heard that coffee stunts you're growth, but I think I am a living proof that it doesn't. I'm 15, and am 5'9", and I have engoyed coffee since I was about 8.

Ha, this and your post on the suck thread reminds me of the Yin/Yang threads that happened a little while ago. Or wait, are you old enough to remember Hee Haw, where they did the "Aw, that's bad." "No, that's good" "How come?" "Oh, that's good!" "No, that's bad" "How come?"

Does anyone know what I am talking about here?. I swear I am not crazy. Or at least, whatever craziness I have has no bearing on the truth of the previous paragraph.

Yeah, about 80% of my posts are from work.

yeah, prolly 90% of mine are from work too.

I am getting Bifurbicated or some such legal mumbo jumbo that says I can get divorce right away and deal with the mumbo jumbo division stuff later; that will be a good thing; finally; whew.

I can drink my morning coffee outside in my PJs and not freeze to death.

I do not believe it belongs in the “good things” forum, but yes, I too remember “Hee-Haw.”

I got promoted, and it comes with a pay raise! Didn't get the job I applied for (internally), but they wanted me to know I was appreciated regardless (very cool). Found out over the phone, so I don't know what I was promoted..to..or for how much, but apparently it is effective Tuesday. Good deal!

I'm thinking I might have a job interview next week. I've been unemployed for over a year (except for a brief seasonal job). It'd be a great week if it happens.

Starting to get some illustration work. The pay doesn't really matter to me at this point as much as building a foundation of actual material for real publishers that fits where I want to be in a few years. I'm at something of a loss as to how I'll manage with the day job at the same time, but that's okay. I don't have too much of a social life, regardless and I can sleep when I'm dead.

This is kind of a good news-bad news-insanely good news thing:
So, I'm in the process of buying a house, using a guvment loan through the good old FHA. It's been a fairly painless, but time-consuming process. Contract's signed, I close May 1.
My Realtor calls Tuesday -- the FHA assessor finished up and appraised the house for $20k more than I'm paying for it. Instant equity!
Unfortunately, they won't approve the loan unless the detached garage and trim (rest of the house is sided) is scraped and repainted, because it might have lead paint.
The seller already fixed a couple other things and refuses to pay for the painting, so I'm stuck with 2 options: scrape and paint the garage myself in the free time I don't have over the next 10 days, or pony up $950 bucks that I don't have for someone else to do it.
I'm on my cell b@%$&ing to a friend about what I'm going to do when I open up my mail Wednesday night. There's a card from my grandparents. I open the envelope and ...

Spoiler:
Out falls a check for $1,000. No reason, they just thought I might need some things for the new house.

Mr. Shiny's current status: (posted in 'Good Things' because the pros marginally outweigh the cons)

The Good News: Once more, I'm being mobbed by chicks.
The Bad News: Just coming off of a really weird breakup, I'm completely gun-shy.

This has happened before, and it will happen again. I think I'm turning into this guy.

Seconded. :P

I'd rather be mobbed by dudes post break up than go through a dry spell.

Yeah, I haven't had the same problem Yeux and Shiny have. I'm trying to get moving on, meeting someone new, but I recently got a preemptive "I love you, but I'm not IN love with you..." kind of thing from someone I thought was interested. Totally taken by surprise, because I'm used to it taking a little while longer for the pathetic pity speech. It's not even like, 'You Sunk My Battleship!'; my fleet never even got out of the yard!

On the one hand, I'm totally grateful because it means that I don't have to waste time for either of us. On the other hand...what the hell is so wrong with me? I mean, floating mutant babies aside.

No worries James, my wife is universal proof there is someone for everyone. She even laughs at my disturbing obscure old school movie / D&D references.

Back from my surgery (+1 day). All patched up now, but holy crap, talk about pain. I can't remember the last time anything hurt this much. Wish I could blow my nose, but the abdominal tug is excruciating.

Hopefully, this will be the last of the cutting for a while, I'm running out of smooth areas. On the plus side, I look like the blue boy from Dragnet. Exactly have my "area" is shaved, down the left side, rofl. Not sure if I should correct it or just say screw it, like missing a single eyebrow. Ah well, too tired now to care.

Glad to hear you're on the mend, Mike. I know how you feel; when I was younger, I had surgery after surgery for my ears and then all kinds of broken bones. If someone doesn't have a sense of humor before going into medical issues like that, then they'll develop one along the way; it's probably the only way to survive that kind of thing with your sanity intact.

On Friday I got an email from a law firm where I'm trying to get an internship. They want me to come in for an interviewm which I'm taking as a good sign.

Awesome, dude. Best of luck. Go in prepared (you know, think of questions they may ask you before you head in, maybe look for some websites on interviewing) and understand that it isn't the end of the world if they don't call you back afterwards. I went on a ton of interviews before I actually fell backwards into my current job.

In solidarity, I'm going to shave as well.

Let us all... all of us shave half our nether wigs for mwbeeler.

Although, to avoid a Frank Gorshin Star Trek type civil war, let's be sure we're all shaving the same side, lest we create opposable factions.

Blessings to everyone :)

Mike, Once again I am glad to hear that you are doing well. So here is my good thing.... After all the fuss over whether my father would die or not it comes out that the Dr is a drama king and freaked us out for no reason. He is a perfectly healthy 58 year old. It has been close to 70 for the past few days and the snow is starting to melt. (bad thing, it snowed 6 inches this morning). Hope all is well with everyone else.

That's fantastic news! Several weeks of stress aside, I'm glad it was all for naught.

I laughed at this, then immediately wanted to die from the pain. Talk about your obscure references. Awesome!

Right inguinal hernia after a nasty hip throw. Been there. Out of sympathy I shall refrain from any jokes.

Welcome back!

We got the house! It's a lease-to-own arrangement since we don't have the credit to buy outright, but still. It's like three times the size of our current place, and is pretty much my dream house. We'll be moving in in about five weeks. I am so excited I can hardly stand it.

My "PJs" are not considered family-safe. Here's to coffee, however!

Good things: Paizo. Iron Man TONIGHT. Being home from Iraq and just having family time again. Finding out that song I was trying to play bass line for that was impossibly hard three months ago took me about 10 minutes to learn today. Paycheck's (my scruffy rat-dog) butt-waggling and face-licking. My youngest son having 4 teeth pulled because his mouth is too small and healing without pain. Getting to go to GenCon again. Hearing my wife snore at 2:00am. Stubbing my toes on my own bed. Drinking morning coffee outside in my PJs ... O.O
