Boris and Pjotr nod as to the dwarfs question, showing him two sacks full with furs and hides, heavy enough to be lifted just so.
Turning to Agerron, Boris speaks: "Well, we mostly hunt a bit further west of here, a bit to the south of the Frog-man's clearing. If we mean the same one, that is. He's only about a day and some away.
He's keeping to himself with his strange riding-frog. Defending his territory, but doesn't harm you if you let him be."
Pjotr adds: "Ah, but he's stole some bait and catchings. Not like others haven't done it too, just sayin. Like, from our pits too. Wern't usin that pit now, so it's okay."
Nodding, Boris takes over: "Right. Just don't tempt him. There was one who thought he could chase him away." - "'twas his last thought."
Passing Agerron's bottle of liquor, the two hunter look hesitantly to Big Ern, obviously having heard of that man's manners, but somewhat concerned as to his sickness.
Heal (Treat disease): Healer's kit not necessary, but would give +2 circumstance bonus. Aid would give Ern a +4 bonus on his next save, if you beat the DC (16).

DM Sothal |

Not knowing what to reply, the hunters exchange a quick glance, then fall silent, staring into the campfire.
The conversation stopping at that pretty much, they offer to take a watch whenever you have a spot open, then roll out their bedrolls.
Anything before I start this nights random encounter?
Order of watch: Agerron, Majet, Queslin, Branomonrik, Xanda, no watch of Big Ern; Boris and Pjotr take the watch to morning?
Besides Big Ern (-12 Str), everyone is at full health again.

DM Sothal |

1d6 ⇒ 2 -> Majet: Perception vs. Stealth 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
It looks like a large hedge, a mass of tangled vines, creeping nearer, a waft of freshly turned earth and rot hanging in the air.
It's currently about 120ft. from you.

DM Sothal |

I'm sorry Big Ern, but Agerron rolled a heal save just here, resulting in a 14.
Anyway, let's hope you all survive the night, then we can see about your disease, okay?
Pacing the camp, her gaze fixed at the formula book in her hands, Majet doesn't really notice the strange hedge until it is too late. Walking right next to it, standing partially behind a tree, the plant suddenly wraps some vines around the gnome:
slam 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 damage 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 5) + 5 = 11
grab (grapple)1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33 damage (constrict) 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 2) + 7 = 12
With the vines tight around the little body of the gnome, it presses all air out of Majet, causing her to fall unconscious immediately.
The shuffling of branches and leaves alarms the riding dog and some of the horses and they start to bark and whicker, pulling on their reigns.
So much for the surprise round. You wake by the sound of the animals, roll Initiative.
Ini plant: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Ini Boris: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Ini Pjotr: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Xanda |

Will Save:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Xanda awakens and rises lithely from her blanket, looking around into the darkness for the source of what is disturbing the animals.
Perception:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Assuming that Perception is enough to see the marauding shubbery.
"Look out! The trees, they move!" She calls, even as she points to what she sees.
Initiative:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Aaand Xanda has the reactions of a tree....(-_-)

Big Ern |

I'm sorry Big Ern, but Agerron rolled a heal save just here, resulting in a 14.
Then we can say that Branomonrik rolled an Aid Another check, with the same result. Or not, if you prefer.
Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Big Ern groans and gropes for his axe and drinks his mutagen.

DM Sothal |

Agerron Ini: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3, Majet Ini: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Round 1:
15 - *Boris - delay
12 - Majet - unconscious
12 - Queslin
12 - Big Ern - drinks mutagen
12 - *Pjotr
9 - Branomonrik
5 - Xanda
4 - *Plant
3 - Agerron
One of the hunters that currently accompany you, Boris, is the first on his feet. He grabs his shortsword, looking around wild eyed until he sees the gnome being dragged by the 'hedge'.
The image of the lifeless gnome being held by the plant seems to be too hard to comprehend for him to react though, Boris just stands there dumbfounded, sword raised, but not rushing in to attack.

DM Sothal |

pushing along a bit
Queslin stands up and grabs his sword, looking at the large hedge holding a lifeless Majet in its vines.
Big Ern downs a mutagen and grabs his axe while standing up as well.
Pjotr has his bow close by and, still standing up, grabs an arrow and lets if fly at the hedge:
longbow 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 - 4 = 9 damage 1d8 ⇒ 7
Still in motion from standing up, he misses the large plant.
With that, Boris wakes from his condition and charges in, slicing at the bush, gaining a slam from one of the vines before even coming into range of the blade:
slam AoO 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24 damage 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (6, 2) + 5 = 13
With the breath knocked out of his lungs, the hunter nearly falters, but still tries to connect with his shortsword:
shortsword 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The plant is large, and thus has reach.
Remaining Round 1:
9 - Branomonrik
5 - Xanda
4 - *Plant
3 - Agerron - Charge attack 14, damage 17
Round 2:
12 - Majet - unconscious
12 - Queslin
12 - Big Ern - drinks mutagen
12 - *Pjotr
11 - *Boris

Xanda |

Xanda shouts
Casting Acid Splash this turn, even as she moves closer the better to physically attack the plant.
Att Roll:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Dam Roll:1d3 ⇒ 2
So, getting ready to draw Elven Curved blade next rouns, when closer to the bush.

DM Sothal |

The dwarf gets up and aims his crossbow at the plant, but the bolt goes wide.
Xanda positions herself to go in close soon, splashing the hedge with acid at a side where Majet is hopefully not affected.
The plant keeps a hold on the gnome while lashing out with another vine at the half-elf close by,
slam 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20 damage 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (2, 4) + 5 = 11
grab (grapple) 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25 damage (constrict) 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 6) + 7 = 18
grabbing Xanda and ensnaring her just like it did with Majet mere seconds ago.
The half-elf's body is a bit more frail though, and doesn't stand the strain.
I let you change actions, now that a member of the party is dead, and the other not far away from it.
Round 1 remaining:
3 - Agerron - Charge attack 14, damage 17
Round 2:
12 - Majet - unconscious
12 - Queslin - longsword attack 23, damage 4
12 - Big Ern
12 - *Pjotr
11 - *Boris - badly wounded
9 - Branomonrik
5 - Xanda - dead
4 - *Plant

The plant keeps a hold on the gnome while lashing out with another vine at the half-elf close by,
slam 1d20+11 damage 2d6+5
grab (grapple) 1d20+16 damage (constrict) 2d6+7
grabbing Xanda and ensnaring her just like it did with Majet mere seconds ago.
The half-elf's body is a bit more frail though, and doesn't stand the strain.I let you change actions, now that a member of the party is dead, and the other not far away from it.

12 - Queslin - longsword attack 23, damage 4
12 - Big Ern
12 - *Pjotr
11 - *Boris - badly wounded
9 - Branomonrik
5 - Xanda - dead4 - *Plant
Feel I should point out a creature can normally only grapple one opponent at a time and if it maintaines the grapple it spends a standard action doing so.

DM Sothal |

Right! My bad. Change that to "let's go of the gnome". As that is a free action and Majet is unconscious, it doesn't change the rest.
I also just read that the plant can't make AoO's while grappling, so Boris is not hurt.
Thanks!
The dwarf gets up and aims his crossbow at the plant, but the bolt goes wide.
Xanda positions herself to go in close soon, splashing the hedge with acid at a side where Majet is hopefully not affected.
The plant let's go its hold of the gnome while lashing out with another vine at the half-elf close by,

12 - Queslin - longsword attack 23, damage 4
12 - Big Ern
12 - *Pjotr
11 - *Boris
9 - Branomonrik
5 - Xanda - dead, grappled
4 - *Plant - grappling

DM Sothal |

Agerron rushes in to attack the hedge with his greatsword, hacking at the leaves, but it seems to have no effect.
Majet lies on the floor, unconscious but alive.
Was at -2hp after the surprise round, I didn't see any rolls to stabilize
Queslin does as Agerron, attacking the thing with his sword. He manages to cut a branch of the plant. It's not much, but it's a start.
Big Ern takes the same approach to the plant, though he has a hard time even lifting his heavy axe and misses entirely.
Pjotr grabs another arrow, asking into the round of people: "Can't someone help that Gnome?"
longbow 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 - 4 = 16 damage 1d8 ⇒ 4
His arrow hits the trunk, but the point doesn't even leave a scratch.
Boris takes a step to the side to get the plant in between himself and Queslin, while raising his shortsword again:
shortsword 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Moving shadows and having to duck away from Big Ern's missdirected swing make it hard for him to hit the plant.
Round 2 remaining:
9 - Branomonrik
5 - Xanda - dead, grappled
4 - *Plant - grappling Xanda
3 - Agerron - attack 14, damage 12
Round 3:
12 - Majet - unconscious, prone
12 - Queslin
12 - Big Ern
12 - *Pjotr
11 - *Boris

DM Sothal |

The dwarf's channeling of godly power heals all in the area, though most wouldn't need it, and those who do don't get much from it. Xanda is beyond recovery, and Majet is too badly hurt to regain consciousness yet. at -2 stable now
But maybe Abadar in his might didn't grant Branomonrik all too much of his healing, as it affected the plant they are fighting as well, the 'wound' of the cut off branch Queslin caused, is closing from the magic rolling over it.
The hedge now let's go of Xanda, the half-elf dropping lifeless to the ground, while the plant slams its vines towards Queslin:
slam 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23 damage 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (5, 2) + 5 = 12
grab (grapple) 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28 damage (constrict) 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (2, 1) + 7 = 10
It wraps the vines around the body of the elf, squeezing and breaking some bones, but not enough to cause Queslin to fall unconscious.
Agerron swings his weapon at the plant again, but hits the branches ineffectively, the blade gliding along the bark, leaving it unharmed.
Round 3 remaining:
12 - Queslin - grappled, hp 3/25
12 - Big Ern - critical attack, damage 32
12 - *Pjotr
11 - *Boris
9 - Branomonrik
5 - Xanda - dead
4 - *Plant - grappling Queslin
3 - Agerron - attack 17, damage 15
Round 4:
12 - Majet - unconscious, prone hp -2/21

DM Sothal |

While Queslin struggles against the vine wrapped around his body, Big Ern lands a perfect blow on one of the trunks holding the hedge upright. Resin starts to seep out of the cut, and the plant seems to be 'hurt', but not bad enough to break down yet.
Pjotr and Boris do their best to attack the hedge some more:
longbow 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 - 4 = 4 damage 1d8 ⇒ 4
shortsword 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
While they don't hit the plant, their efforts might just be good enough to distract it.
Round 3 remaining:
9 - Branomonrik
5 - Xanda - dead
4 - *Plant - grappling Queslin
3 - Agerron - attack 17, damage 15
Round 4:
12 - Majet - unconscious, prone hp -2/21
12 - Queslin - grappled, hp 3/25
12 - Big Ern
12 - *Pjotr
11 - *Boris

DM Sothal |

Branomonrik once again channels the might of his god, healing all in the area, including the plant.
The hedge slings it's vines tighter around the body of the elf, squeezing the life out of him:
grapple 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (12) + 21 = 33 constrict 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 4) + 7 = 12
The elf thus falls unconscious hp -3/25, while the plant drags him along, moving away from the campfire.
AoO Agerron: rolls from above, no hit.
AoO Boris: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
confirm critical 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
AoO Big Ern: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 damage 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Moving away, Boris gets in a hit, breaking off another branch. Agerron and Big Ern aren't as lucky, though they hit the hedge, the bark is to thick for their weapons to deal damage.
Agerron sets after the thing and gets another hit in, scaring the trunk and bringing the plant nearly to falter. It now looks pretty hard pressed to keep 'standing'.
Round 4:
12 - Majet - conscious, prone hp 4/21
12 - Queslin - grappled, unconscious, hp -3/25
12 - Big Ern
12 - *Pjotr
11 - *Boris
9 - Branomonrik
5 - Xanda - dead
4 - *Plant - grappling Queslin, badly wounded
3 - Agerron

DM Sothal |

I'm not sure if I'm back for all too long, but I will at least try to finish this fight.
Majet picks herself up from the ground and goes for a bomb, but doesn't throw it, once it sees the plant holding onto Queslin.
Big Ern steps up to the hedge again, and again only hits it without dealing damage.
Pjotr lets another arrow fly at the plant,
longbow 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 - 4 = 19 damage 1d8 ⇒ 1
it sticks to its target like another branch spontanously grown, the fletching being miscolored leaves.
Boris just stands there, shortsword in hand, to afraid to follow the thing back into the woods.
Round 4 remaining:
delayed - Majet - hp 4/21, bomb in hand
9 - Branomonrik
5 - Xanda - dead
4 - *Plant - grappling Queslin, badly wounded
3 - Agerron - attack 16, damage 16
Round 5:
12 - Queslin - grappled, unconscious, hp -3/25
12 - Big Ern
12 - *Pjotr
11 - *Boris

Tyr Thordinsjon |

Adding post so that Tyr's name etc shows up easier for myself. Wishing every one all the very best. *Bows*
The well built man has traveled with the caravan since its journey began in the main city far to the North.
Wrapped in chain-mail armor and a long, heavy scabbard across his back, he seems content to walk beside one of the supply wagons as the group slowly trundles South, towards the wilds and the small dot upon the map labeled 'Olegs'. He takes turns with the watch, all though here, in the 'settled' lands such a thing is more formality than necessary. Once closer to the edges of civilization, his actions become more intense in his duties of keeping watch over the sleeping others and gazing across the landscape as the wagons rolls South.
Upon sight of the wooden walls of the stockade the man makes no comment (Assuming the former Bandits still grace the walls) He says nothing of those who hang outside, walking silently into the compound and thence helping with the unloading and shifting of goods from the wagons into there places within Oleg's, before partaking of the evening meal and settling in for the night.
With the coming of the new day Tyr rises, bathes, breakfasts and then walks up to Oleg.
"Shovel." Is all he simply says, crosses his well muscled arms and waits, (Hopefully receiving said implement soonish) Once so equipped, wearing but a simple straw hat, shirt and breeches he calmly walks out-side and begins to dig. The pit is roughly four feet X six feet and he continues down for an equal amount. Carefully lifting out any large rocks and setting them to one side from the growing pile of dirt on the other.
It soon becomes obvious that Try's strength and stamina are up to the task of his labors.
Once finished Tyr sets the shovel aside, walks into the stockade and sees if there are any spare sacks and 'Quick lime'. (Again, hoping such supplies are available in the Trading post).
Taking these he proceeds to cut down one of the hanging figures. When asks or confronted he simply replies.
"They've met their judgement. What this place doesn't need are 'trophies'." So saying he packs quick lime into the sacks and then wraps said sacks around the body. Then hauls the bundle to the grave and deposits within.
Tyr spends time stacking the sorted rocks over the corpse before returning the dirt to the hole. Once the day is done he returns to Oleg's and proceeds to bathe, eat and rest. With the coming night, he spends a watch looking out over the walls. Occasionally he stops to inspect the wooden siege machines that rest, mouldering, there.
With the new day, Tyr simple does again what he did the day before and continues each following day until all of the deceased bandits are placed in the ground.
