I don't know, just seemed appripo.

Not Hardware? KHAAAN!!!

A shame; I already secured a job for this year.

Argh!!! And that's exactly in the field I'm currently studying and closely resembles what I've done in the past. I've already told myself I would finish this degree this time around first, though.

Paizo Employee Senior Software Developer

Bumpity-bump-bump.

*bangs head against wall because she can't apply for this awesomely cool job*

Dammit, if you were just offering a job dealing with prehistoric technology, I would be the Gavgoyle for you...

Sorry, that's my job.

This would be a really cool job. But first, as a Canadian I suspect getting the work visa would be a pain in the ass, and second I don't think you need a fixed-income/foreign exchange trader..

If I ever had enough coin to retire, I would definitely want to work in the gaming industry as my post retirement activity. Cool people and good times.

I'm intrigued to a great extent by this idea.

As is, I don't entirely know what a software developer exactly does, ergo I wouldn't be a viable candidate.

Does it comes with the means of hacking and slashing those dregs that hang around the office?

If so...

I peek with curiousity.

When are you going to post regarding that in-house counsel position...

Aubrey - you're in accounting? That would explain a lot of why I find myself agreeing with you so often - we're both "sell-outs!" Gears in the capitalist machinery! Keep rocking that white collar.

I thought you didn't like modrons.

Never mind me. I found out 6 months ago that Voltaire was a highly successful venture capitalist, and I never really got over it.

Sadly my knowledge of software is limited to what I've taught myself about html in the past week with the help of HTML 4 for Dummies.

I've worked in publishing before and would love to do it again, especially for my favorite magazine, have any other openings? Editor? Proofreader? Receptionist? Handyman? Janitor? Errand boy? Resident bum?

Either that or we are both jaded with life and have a similar viewpoint.

Actually, I quite like my job. It's not too hard work and gives me money for gaming. Now, the girlfriend, she is expensive....

NO, what your staff REALLY needs is a upbeat, light-hearted litigator! Because EVERYBODY loves a trial lawyer! Right everybody!

Everybody . . . ?

Anybody . . . ?

hello?

No, no, you need an...an engineer, that's it, because...because the building's about to fall down, yeah, and somebody has to shore up those timbers and whatnot...right?

yours in unemployment,
Fang

Paizo Employee Senior Software Developer

Well, a software engineer would fit the bill!

What if the software was like...bricks and things?

Paizo Employee Senior Software Developer

Heh. I think you and I probably have very different ideas about what things like "load balancing" mean.

*shuffles feet* (in a small voice) ummm...building bridges that don't fall down...?

If you guys come to blows, somebody's gonna need . . . a lawyer . . .

*lightbulb appears above head*
Hey...we get them to hire both of us...I'll fix the building, and you can cover my butt when it falls down...

*dim, flickering lightbulb makes valiant effort at lighting over head*

Right, right, . . . this is called . . . team- . . . team-something, right? Sure, I've heard of this! Okay, here goes:

Gary, Gary, you MUST hire Fang, he's BRILLIANT!

*grins* Truly. Oh...oh, and...the lawyer, too...look how bright that lightbulb is...genius-quality, at least!

The Exchange

Hmm. I may have to review the controls over the recruitment process at Paizo to ensure that no pointless recruitment of engineers and lawyers occurs. You guys really need me there.

(whispers to Ashenvale:) "We are in luck, for I happen to know that auditor-types can be distracted by large piles of meaningless paperwork with the words 'quality control' stamped all over them in big red letters." *carefully moves forward with three-foot stack of papers and drops them at Aubrey's feet.* "There. That should do it..."

The Exchange

Fool - your blatant attempt at distraction is bound to fail! Ooh, wait, who authorised this expenses receipt....?

(whispers) "Quick, now's our chance...while he's devouring that phony expense report..."

(mumbles under breath and counts on fingers) Hmm, let's see, that was (1) a deliberate (2) misrepresentation of fact, (3) intended to cause another to rely upon it, (4) upon which another relied (5) to his detriment.

(whispers aloud) Why Fang, what a lovely little fraud!

But remember, this PostMonster dude is our REAL obstacle. He's some sort of gaming industry official, so bribery won't work. Gaming industry professionals have no interest in money.

(whispers back, whilst sneaking past an engrossed Aubrey) "You wouldn't happen to know the average CR of a postmonster dude, would you?"

(quietly) That depends. His this one got any class?

(sharp intake of breath) "classES". I meant "any classES"!

PostMonsters have a CR of 21. PostMonster Generals have a CR of at least 28. This is before incorperating any class levels into their makeup. However, The CR is not the only problem. They also have Advanced Fiendish Paper Golems as their main army.

Editing to fix my stupid spelling mistakes. Villiage Idiot level 12 achieved!

Ashenvale wrote:

*puts on wizened sage hat*

The PostMonster is a ferocious beast, and has many classes, strange ones that many have not yet heard of! "Public Static Void Main()" and "type cEatPost = class(cMail)!"

Beware the PostMonster and his powers!

*shudders at the thought*
"Okay, Ashenvale, this one's gonna be up to you...I have far too many ranks in cynicism to make a successful Diplomacy check..."

(whispers sharply) Please keep your voices down! And never fear. All that mumbo-jumbo doesn't scare me. I have taken two levels of the coveted Village Idiot prestige class, so I have that most coveted of special abilities, "never fear".

*whispering a bit more quietly* Hey, Lilith, surely someone must have put a PostMonster in the stat block bank by now...do they have any weaknesses that we can shamelessly exploit?

Fang wrote:

*whispering*

Alas, the PostMonster is such a rare creature that we've had difficulties discovering its weaknesses! Perhaps we can try attracting its attention with a potential meal?

~giggle, snort, giggle~ yes. ~wispers~ That might do the trick. The question is, does it have epic level abilities?

Sharoth wrote:

*whispers* The potential meal or the PostMonster? And please...don't snort so loudly!

Paizo Employee Senior Software Developer

Hmmmm. Is there something going on in here I should be concerned about?

~backs up, putting Fang and Ashenvale in front of me~ Um, no sir! ~rolling my bluff check (+28 due to PHd in BS Engineering) and coming up with a natural 20~ Nothing is going on. However, there is a tasty meal that someone left for you!

*shivers in boots at having attracted the attention of the dreaded PostMonster* (stammering) uh...no...nothing at all...nobody here but us...cockroaches...(whispering fiercely) Ashenvale, we're nicked! Make like a roach, and fast!

The Exchange

What?!? That! It looks like just a wee bunny! That's a Postmonster?!? Hee-hee. I'm goin' in.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGWWhhhhyyyy y!!?!?!???
