I thought someone leaked this somewhere on another message board. He's working on a new super mega module called "Return of the Flumph King"... it's supposed to come with an audio CD that includes sounds of mating Flumphs to help players get in the mood. I guess that's what JJ is calling "neat"?

;)

It's a Greyhawk adventure, with PCs accompanying the illustrious rogue Gord, as he travels to the interplanar city of Sigil on a 'shopping' trip.

Sadly they find that the city's ruler is absent, along with many of her treasures.

The adventure's called 'No Pain, no gain'.

At this point, I think I would settle for an adventure centered around abalone.

Or an adventure centered around Kate Beckinsale?

Oh, I would so go to Indy to play this as a True Dungeon scenario . . .

jokamachi wrote:

Fiendish abalone, like when you have abalone with wasabi. With Kate Beckinsale as their watery queen.

How about a flesh golem made entirely out of clones of Kate Beckinsale?

GYOIKYOIKYOIKYOIKYOIK....AGUGUGUGUGUG!

Kate's dad starred in a BBC show I watched in reruns called Rising Damp. He was quite good, but sadly, passed away at a very young age.

TheJade, Richard Beckinsale was also in a great comedy called "Porridge". He also seemed a nice guy.
If it was the real Kate that posted on here, I wish her well.
I guess it also shows that people should be careful what they post on message boards!
It also shows that JJ has good taste... (Note to self: Must pitch more adventures featuring dinosaurs.) ;-)

I don't think it was her. She didn't have a British accent.

I'm thinking the real Kate, aside from not being so sad as to net search her name ad nauseum each day and somehow finding her name on this site apart from all the others, wouldn't have used that Avatar. Too obvious.

And can you imagine if she really came here and said 'the wait is over'? That's like ringing a dinner bell. A friendly woman like that would have had twenty babies by now.

EDIT: Oh, yes. I meant to giggle at the accent joke.

El gigglo. <--I speakee many de languages

Nice one!

> I'm thinking the real Kate, aside from not being so sad as to net search her name ad nauseum each day…
Of course not. I once worked in the PR industry, so I know that there are businesses, and presumably individuals, that can pay media-monitoring services to look out for specific mentions. I’d have thought that the management firms of successful actors/actresses also use such services (or have underpaid staff who do look on google "ad nauseam each day").

> And can you imagine if she really came here and said 'the wait is over'? That's like ringing a dinner bell. A friendly woman like that would have had twenty babies by now.
Unless the woman in question has a successful (movie) career.

I’d have thought that Vin Diesel was the most likely movie star to post on the website, if anyone.

Of course, Gary Teter (the webmaster) would know the truth.

I'll have to try and find Porridge. Thanks for the recommendation.

And Gary Teter isn't even Gary Teter on this site. You think he has time for guys like us?

As for Vin... "Hey guys, This is the Deez. I'm writing to you from knee deep in a swamp of in-season vixens. I wanted to weigh in on this whole Monster Manual IV... wait... I'll BBL."

Liberty's Edge

Maybe Vin Diesel IS here, doing research for a possible Driz'zt movie. Not using his actual name, or nuthin; just...interlopin'.

Damn! My cover is blown!

Incidentally, I have a copy of MMIV and it's awesome!

Mr. Hollywood asks me to spot him 3 bills at the Texas Hold 'Em table and forgets what the word loan means? Real convenient. Why I oughta...

Okay, I know what Erik Mona's secret project is now. He's working on a screenplay.
Gord the Rogue: the movie.
Vin Diesel-Gord
Kate Beckinsale-Iggwilv
Sam L. Jackson-Graz'zt
Harvey Keitel-Iuz
Patrick Stewart-Mordenkainen
Jack Black-Zagyg
Oh, it's gonna be schweet!

Aw man. . .I was hoping someone would invoke someone like Bogart. I mean really what's the point of True Resurection if a Hollywood legend can't. . .okay I'll shut up now. . .but at least I figured out how they did those Coke commercials a couple of years back.

KnightErrantJR wrote:

Kind of like that guy named Hastur on these boards.

Or is is Hasstur? Hasturrr? Hastuur?

So there's been some talk and speculation about your latest secret project, Erik. Inquiring minds want to know what's going on, but I imagine you'll keep it under wraps until the appointed time and place. Some seem to think it's Greyhawk related, and while I am one of the faithful hoping that's true, I've decided to wait patiently.

Ok, enough waiting.

Come on, man! Throw us a bone! Let slip the bloodhounds of curiosity!

I'm rathering hoping it has to do with the lands beyond the flans on Oerth. For the last couple of years we have been given bread crumbs. From the DragonMasters of Lynn to the most recent Blessed and Scorned of Mur. I'm hoping the elite left wing media (thanks O'Reily) at Wizards have finally seen the light.

Amen to that. I've wondered if there might not be a Suel kingdom further west on the continent. The rain of colorless fire supposedly only incinerated the lands within the sea of dust, and according to several things I've read, the Suel had "conquered the entire western half of Oerik." I'm hoping a good game designer finds a few isolated Suel kingdoms that have lasted longer than the old imperium.

Liberty's Edge

And...a little info on the surrounding environment of the Styes in Greyhawk. Yeah, that'd be nice.

Dear Mr. Mona

Thank you for your kind message of July 6th. I apologize for not returning your contact sooner, but I was unavoidably drawn away from my computer due to the birth of my first child ("Little Erik") between us pals.

I don't have much time, so let me just reply to the meat of your message. Yes, I absolutely agree with your decision to start supporting the D20 Book of Erotic Fantasy within the pages of Dragon Magazine by publishing a full-page picture of a sample NPC wearing nothing but chainmail each month. However, I have to question why exactly you propose to start the project with Snerk, the (male) goblin from Shackled City. The sample art you sent frankly made my blood curdle. "Uck" says it all.

Anyway, Little Erik needs attention, so I'll have to be going for now. Good luck with the new project, especially the one with the Gelatinous Ooze. Quite risque!

Yours truly, Anguish

But seriously,

Erik we need a Greyhawk Campaign Setting for 3.5 edition, something that's as complete as the Forgotten Realms Setting volume.

If WOTC aren't interested then I'm guessing that judging by the favourable reception of the Shackled City hardcover, there are plenty of Dragon / Dungeon readers who are.

You build it. We'll buy it.

but...? :)

still a no-go from the folks who run the show?

BOZ wrote:

I think that's a fairly safe assumption. :O

I guess that it's not a Greyhawk book, and it's not a set of Paizo cleaning materials (tea towels and feather dusters), either.
Perhaps it's an interactive CD/DVD collecting all the out of print Dungeon magazines (hence their need for a software developer).
Or, perhaps we'll just find out in time...

Well, if Erik would spill the beans now, it woulnd´t be a "secret" project, right ?

And we all love a good riddle :-)

Stefan

It certainly could be the real Kate Beckinsale. She's a self-professed geek, a former regular at the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and married to a geek-boi with a collection of action figures and comic books. (Source: interviews on the-website-not-actually-named-SuicideGith.) She never mentioned RPGs, but one never knows.

I think my mom used to have an abalone shell on the mantle over our fireplace. I wonder what happened to it...

I don't know what the secret project is, but if it is a 3.5 Greyhawk hardback...that would rock.

*prays for Greyhawk hardback in a corner*

I dunno.

I would think that most celebraties, even geeky ones, wouldn't be on messageboards. We've got Kate Beckinsale and Vin Diesel floating around here, but I've not been convinced that either of them really is Vin or Kate.

EDIT: Hell, they could be the same person. Some strange person who sits at a computer and makes new accounts with celebrity names. (For example, I get the strange feeling that we would see Robin Williams on the boards if someone asked for him to show up.)

EDIT EDIT: Wil Wheaton on the other hand, used to write for Dungeon, so I would be more convinced if he showed up on these boards.

Could it be a Age of Worms hardcover? Hope so

I hope not.

I'd love an AoW hardcover, but this has been blown-up into such a big surprise that I would be slightly dissappointed.

I don't think an Age of Worms hardcover would qualify as a big secret at all. Besides that, its already been written and there are plenty of people down the ladder that could do it instead.

I already got the leaked pdf of his project.

It's the Peter Pan RPG.

So there.

I just got it myself. Fairy dust is so munchkin!

Thus are dashed my hopes of seeing My Little Pony d20 a reality after all.

Maybe its the long hoped for Meta-4 Sourcebook that Mutants and Masterminds players have been clamouring for since M&M 1e.

They continue to clamour here.

We know. You've been more loyal to the old country than anyone here.

Perhaps we could help apply some leverage to WoTC? Do they have an email address to talk to civilians? We could get organised (hey, Fox brought Futurama back).

I'd happily do my bit to encourage our friends at Wizards to see the light.

Don't worry. I think Wes is working on that. ;)

When this April's fool came out, my girl friend jumped up and cried that this might be the kick she needed to come back to RPG after all these years. She was really disappointed that WotC would recklessly play with her feelings like that! ;-)
