Would it be possible to see a free or cheap PDF with the statblocks for all encounters in AP3?

Wizards has done it for Red Hand of Doom, and as a "laptop behind the screen" DM, I found this digital document tremendously helpful.

This way, I can have all monsters for an encounter on screen, 1 encounter or monster/NPC per page, without having to search through the whole adventure or monster books to find them.

If Paizo needs "hands and sweat" to put this online, I can help with some page layout skills, and I am sure other fans could help for final editing.

No, I didnt say I would also be ready to pay a lot to buy a downloadable PDF version of Dungeon... :)

I love this idea, As I play though the hard cover of scap I find it hard on my small table to flip from chapter to apendex1-5 to find this monster and the other one. I started right all the fights I need on small sheet of paper but this takes a lot of time and use up a lot of paper.
So in the simple way of saying, I rely think that is a great idea.

For AoW I ended up doing this. I recreated all encounters in the new stat block format and printed one sheet for each stat block. For encounters with multiple creatures with identical stats I just add columns for individual for tracking hit points, ammunition, daily uses, etc.

I use these sheets for tracking init. I try to print out the latest version of my player's characters in the new stat block format.

If these sheets were already available as downloads it would save me some time. Not sure if I'm allowed to post this, but all of the stat blocks I've made are listed on my website for Age of Worms:

That's a really sweet little site there, Takasi.

If Paizo did, it would probably be after the campaign ended.

BTW, Red Hand of Doom's stat block wasn't issued until after the release of the after AND if I recall correctly, it was of higher statted adversaries.

While I wouldn't be adverse to having stat blocks of all the adversaries, I don't know whether that would be high on Paizo's list of things to do. Heck, considering that they are behind on the Dungeon .pdf supplements, I wouldn't want to further detract them from that!

I have done a Word document with stat blocks of all monsters of adventure 1 in MM4 format, each on one page. I can also provide a PDF version of it.

What can I do if I want to share it?

Is there a copyright issue?

Can I send it to some Paizo guy so that he checks it and puts it online?

(FYI, I have some web spaces, so I can host it if needed).

Just to let you know, I've been hosting a site for files such as this for the first two APs and have added a section for Savage Tide now as well. It's at http://theRPGenius.com. I'm still in the middle of running the Shackled City from the hardcover, so I don't have much to contribute to the Savage Tide as of yet. But there was a request to add a section for AP3 and I have obeyed.

Check out the SCAP and AWAP archives to get an idea of the level of participation among the Adventure Path community. I've been impressed with the amount and quality of ideas out there that people are willing to share. To date, many have been able to enhance their campaigns by using the archived files there, even some of our Paizo friends (as rumor has it). I would welcome your stat block documents as an upload for others to share and benefit from.

(Stepping down from the soapbox...)

Thanks for listening. Hope you'll share. :)

Best Regards,
Koramado

If you'd like to share this with others via email, that'd probably be okay. Posting it on a website starts to get into the shades of legality, but I'm not sure WHAT shades. Personally, I don't mind. Wizards, though, might. And since all the contents of Dungeon belong to WotC... they're the ones you'd probably need to ask for permission to post stat blocks online.

If you send it to some Paizo guy, I can pretty much guarentee it won't get looked at or "checked" or put online. Not because we don't like you, but simply because we don't have the time to take on extra projects like this. We barely have enough time and resources to get the web supplements up and running, so there's no reason to suspect adding workload to the web supplements is going to work well!

James, thanks for the answer.

I didn't mean to bother you at Paizo, I just wanted to share what I have done, in case others might need it :) My idea was not really to eat your time, as I much prefer to let you work on the next issue, but I thought this small doc needed some validation from your side, and you gave me the clear answer I needed.

As I don't want to go to jail either, I will keep this for myself :) Too bad!

PS: I started DMing adventure 1 yesterday and had a blast with my players, thanks all at Paizo and keep the good adventures coming.

I must agree that the RHoD encounters PDF web enhancement was massively useful when I ran that campaign. Currently, our DM is running Shackled City out of the book, and his most - in fact, only - frequent complaint is how hard it is to keep track of the opponents in an encounter using the alphabetical list at the back of the book, especially in cases where the precise listed name is less than obvious.

At the moment I'm only running Savage Tide online in play-by-post form, which makes time pressures less problematic. When I come to run it online, I'll definitely be setting up some RHoD-style quick-reference sheets - or taking advantage of those others have produced, if available.

Something you could do - go to dmtools.org and put the critters into Lillith's stat block bank. That's what I did for my variant Shackled City critters ...

Yep - just make sure you select "Savage Tide" as your campaign setting to keep all of those stat blocks organized.

Putting these docs on the web seems unfair use of the copyright, so let's say we're friends, and now we can exchange this privately by email. (in fact, I feel I have a lot of things in common with you all AP3 DMS :p)

For those who might be interested, just let an email here and I will send you the files (.rtf and .pdf).

Thx all.

Why not for second issue, I received it a few days ago.

I just have to start tearing my issue apart for scanning...

And then OCR, and then copy and paste and format to get the "Monsters Stat Blocks" doc done. I do it for me because I am a "paperless" DM, and in the end, as the doc is on my hard drive, why would I not share?

:)

Awesome! thanks Mando. Looking forward to future issues :)

Look at the top of the message, most specifically James' answer to understand why there is no download link for this. I would have preferred that, but... :)
