Just to make sure I don't over-excite myself - This is just pawns for the core boxes and not a sign towards a full-on return of pawns for adventure paths too, correct? In any case, you've got my money for these ones.
yeah, they only said some time ago that they would keep pawns for the "core core" sets.

This is great news! I've come to rely on pawns for almost all my games, since they are much easier to transport and store.
Any chance there might be a Player Character Pawn Collection reprint?
We do not currently have any plans for a reprint of those. We hope you enjoy these though!! Also, what's the best way you've found to keep your pawns? Asking for a friend. (It's me. I'm asking for me.)

Lol. Thanks for the reply. I've found that keeping pawns in their original cardboard sheets and then filing them sideways (as if they were books) inside plastic bankers boxes works nicely.
I can only hope that Paizo will issue some sort of pawn collection for the player characters too, however different/reduced in quantity they may be!

I use coin collector album pages. You can find them on amazon pretty cheap. Also I think skinny minis brand
has a similar product but a little more expensive.

These are both great suggestions! I'm a sucker for things that match, so I hope we make something as well to keep them. It looks like I wouldn't be the only one who'd be interested!

You're not alone friend!
Printing card board minus for every product was something that set Pathfinder and Paizo apart from other TTRPGs.
I absolutely loved the sets that came with APs in particular.
Which is one of the reasons we decided to play Tyrant's Grasp in 2e this year .. that one still got minis!

A Foundry module has been confirmed for NPC Core when it releases tomorrow. Generally Pawn Sets have also had PDF options as well.
There will be a token pack for this, but the release has been slightly delayed! The team is working as hard as they can, and I'll be making a post when it's out!

A little late to the discussion (apologies if I'm too late), but i just use plastic page protectors (you can usually find a pack of 20 for a dollar or two in office supply sections of stores). The cardboard sheet slips right in, and then the pages can be stored in 3-ring binders. For pawns that don't come in full boxes, I can separate the front, back and side panel of the cover wrap and slip them right into the 3-ring binder for easy identification. Then as needed, I slide the cardboard out of the page protector and remove the pawn(s) needed, then slide the cardboard back in. Then I do the same thing in reverse when time to store them.
I do like the fact that Pathfinder 2E numbers the pawns, which make it much easier to be able to put back into their appropriate slot in the cardboard sheet. Some pawns from other sources, and even the few I have from Starfinder, don't do that.
I do love pawns over minis, but I will admit haven't decided yet if I'm picking up this box since I do have the similar, albeit much smaller, Gamemastery Guide NPC Pawns.

Never too late!! This is helpful as heck!!! Thank you, Corfy!!!

As a GM with a son who wants to play a tanuki, I would like to see a Pawn box that covers all the ancestries from The Mwangi Expanse, Impossible Lands, and Ti'an Xia. I can adapt pawns from various existing sets to cover the core ancestries in Player Core and Player Core 2 and even Howl of the Wild, but not ones like Poppet, Anadi, Shisk, Nagji, Vanara, Tsukumogami, and Tanuki.
I think even a first approximation that has for each Ancestry a Fighter-type / Rogue-type / Magic-type / Cleric or Priest-type and Female / Male for each class type, which would be eight pawns for each Ancestry, would be a nice start to give players something close to their character concept.
Ideally, it would be nice to have each Lost Omens location / region book have its own pawn collection to supply all the new ancestries, monsters, NPCs, and archetypes described to make it easier to GM adventures in those area with characters from those regions.
Happy we're getting an NPC Core box!

I had to type these into my database. I'm posting the list here in case those of you on the fence about buying these amazing pawns need to see what you're getting. Sorry about the length of the post. Hopefully, someone can update Paizo's usual pawn list in the description and delete this post after.
